It is very unusual that I am spending time to write reviews. If I do, it is most likely bad feedbacks that I would like to provide. However, in this case, I am very delighted to share my very positive experience with “Wine Press” in Brookline. I came across Wine Press in spring 2016, when I was looking for a fine bottle of Tequila for my sister that is visiting us from Europe. I started to write to Wine Press and got a very quick response from Jyoti. Her service level was amazing at that time and I bought the bottle of Tequila that she recommended and my sister liked it a lot. According to my personal opinion, when you want to make a purchase, any stores could provide a high service level or at least it should be expected, . However, if you really want to know if the high service level is genuine or not, then you have to judge how you will be treated when you start to encounter a problem and whether you will get a quick resolution or not. Almost 3 months after my first contact with Jyoti, I needed to contact her again. Since it was Sunday evening and the store was closed already, I decided to write her an email. My wife has purchased 2 bottles of wine to surprise me for our 10th year wedding anniversary. Unfortunately, she did not review the receipt until 2 days later after the purchase. She realized then that she has been charged for 3 bottles of wine instead for 2. Soon after I have sent the email to Jyoti and explained the problem, I got a response where she offered to send us a check to rectify the mistake. I was really impressed by the very quick response and the willingness to resolve the problem immediately. I told her that I could pick up the bottle of wine that my wife has been charged instead of the check. The next day, I went to the store to pick up the wine. At the store I found out that the bottle of wine that I was supposed to pick up was not that type of wine I like. Hence, I offered to pay extra to buy another bottle of wine instead. I got the bottle of wine that I like, but Jyoti did not charge me any extra since she felt sorry for the mistakes that has happened. Where can you find this kind of excellent service? Therefore is it justified to give Wine Press five stars out of five.

I am a regular shopper at the Wine Press and, yes, I admit that I have seen the managers being "rude" to customers...when customers first engage in shouting matches or treat them with disrespect. One of my favorite things about the store are the signs that read, "Please do not use your cell phone in line." Setting aside my myriad issues with cell phones, I think this practice is incredibly refreshing and forces the customer to be attentive to the cashier and their purchase. The owner, Wally and his manager, Shannon have always been very accommodating when helping me select great wines and beers in my price range. Their mailing list is in-depth and features wonderful bargains, and the descriptions attached to a good majority of the stock reference wine publications like Wine Spectator, Food & Wine and the ever-present Robert Parker. I love this store and will be a customer for life.

cheapest bottle 7.99? we all know thats no deal for barefoot or any other lower end wine. staff absolutely not knowledgeable, prices exorbitant, and yea, maybe i havent had a particularly rude experience, but i havent had a particularly polite experience either. maybe if you lowered prices, trained staff, and made it a point to be the friendly/helpful local booze pitstop, youd get more volume and higher returns.

This is one of the best wine stores in the Boston area. They have a great selection of quality wine at good prices. I come all the way from Beacon Hill to shop wine at the Wine Press - it is not just a local liquor store. Highly recommended - especially to people who are knowledgeable about and enjoy great wine.

Always overpriced, awkward customer service, and never a good deal. Only redeeming feature is the location at St. Marys. Not worth the gouged prices.

Seems like a good wine selection, although Im not a wine expert. You can often find some good craft beers. Decent selection of bourbon as well.
