To sum up, this store claims they take returns but good luck trying to return a product. Add in some of the worst, rudest customer service it has ever been my displeasure to encounter and you have Edwin Case Comfort Shoes. Frankly, I dont know what to say. Ive bought shoes here in the past and the staff has been friendly and terrific. Ive even recommended this store to others with hard to fit feet who have struggled. Then I made the mistake of bringing in my mother when she was up to visit me. Long story short-- she has a very tough size and a bunion that makes her feet hard to fit and finding office shoes a nightmare. We found shoes that she thought would work, she bought them, wore it around my apartment for a little while and realized they pinched. So, we tried to bring them back. The clerk, an extremely rude, condescending fellow with thinning white hair, all but accused my mother of lying. He repeatedly claimed those shoes which were brand new and looked it must have been worn outside they were in unsalable condition, etc, etc. I didnt see a problem, but if there was anything wrong with the condition of the shoes, it was very clear whose fault that was, the stores. How could anyone damage a pair of shoes walking around in an apartment? We tried to return the shoes in the same condition we purchased them in and were treated like cons. The manager added insult to injury and offered my mother a $10 voucher for shoes she paid $80 a day before (if she was NICER to him and ASKED NICELY for the refund she should have been entitled to-- this fellow clearly has issues with women who stick up for themselves) I am never going back there again and I will encourage everyone to give them a miss.

The salesman at this store was so rude to my elderly mother. She simply picked up a display shoe to look at it (after all, isnt that what display shoes are for?!!), and he reprimanded her not to touch the shoe. I brought my mom here with the intention of buying 2-3 pairs of shoes for her upcoming trip. Well, theyve lost my familys business, and were telling our friends not to shop here!

I have bought 2-3 pairs of shoes here annually for years. Never again. The inventory is so lacking Ive had to request special orders. This last time it took more than two weeks. Then, they called and said they had arrived. I went to the store and wasted 20 minutes while two clueless employees searched high and low for my shoes. They never found them and I left the store as an ex-customer.

This company forces its employees to work 10-hour days with no break: A corporation such as this has no place in Brookline. I recommend instead Simons Shoes or Downtown Shoez, right around the corner on Harvard St., where the prices are better and the workers are allowed meal breaks. I wont do business with unethical corporations and I encourage you to do the same.

My favorite shoe store. Small selection, but their shoes are really comfortable. The prices are quite low for quality shoes. And the sales staff is knowledgeable and exceedingly patient. Ive been getting almost all my shoes there for years, after paying lots more elsewhere for shoes that either didnt quite fit or werent quite as comfortable.
