My husband purchased my engagement ring from Shreve in the spring of 2008 and had a positive experience. During the sales process, our sales rep encouraged me to visit the store for a complimentary cleaning and ring check whenever I was in town. During the past year and a half I have done so, and twice I have had to have the prongs tightened. On October 27th, 2009, I had a very negative experience. I stopped in to Shreve for a simple ring clean. A middle-aged gentleman greeted me, and I asked him to please check and clean my engagement ring and I handed it to him. He did not understand the request (English was not his first language) so I repeated it. He said I had to go upstairs for that service. In the past, I have always had my ring cleaned downstairs and the sales person would examine it with their loupe - and when I have gone upstairs to the service desk to have the prongs fixed, there has always been a long line. I explained this to him, but he repeated that no, I had to go upstairs. I told him that I didnt have time, and that he could just clean it and I would skip the check. He handed my ring back to me and said, that no he could not do that. I asked why, and he responded "because of your attitude." I wish I had asked his name or to speak with the manager, but I was so stunned and upset that I simply said that I would bring it to Lux, and I walked out of the store. I have never been treated so poorly by a sales person, and I am shocked that Shreve employees are allowed to speak to clients this way. Routine ring checks and cleanings were advertised as part of the sale when my husband purchased this engagement ring. If the procedure had changed, this salesman could have told me so without being rude. After this happened, I sent the store manager an email, and she did not respond. After a week I sent a letter in the mail, which she responded to with an apologetic phone message a week later. I called her back and left a message, and as of yet (2 weeks later) have not heard a thing in response. One phone message does not make up for this horrible experience. Their customer service is simply unacceptable.

I bought an engagement ring here few months ago after doing some shopping around. I am fairly frugal so wanted to make sure I got the best ring for the price. After going to 4-5 different stores I went to this place last. Ill have to admit I was apprehensive going in based on some of these reviews, but I really did have a nice experience here and wanted to share. The uniqueness of what this place has to offer really is hands down better than of the other places I had visited. My girlfriend had wanted an antique setting, and once inside it became clear that I was in the right place. As a guy it pains me to critique a ring but it’s absolutely beautiful. The shine is incredible and my girlfriend receives complements about it all the time. At Aldos shoe store the other day she created a fuss with workers in the store coming out from the back to have a look. It makes me happy that I was able to find exactly what she was looking for at Shreve for a good price. If you dont decide to buy from this store I would at least, highly recommend you stop in to see the types of styles they have. The experience at a minimum will at least give you a perspective on some of the setting types out there to open your eyes about what you are looking for. My overall shopping experience was very favorable and I would recommend this place to others.

Just got a Panerai PAM 104 from here and the experience was just amazing. I had been looking for that watch for quite some time and had called over a dozen Panerai Authorized Dealers and no one gave me as great of a deal as Brian Walker at Shreve, Crump & Low did. The deal was straight forward and direct, the communication from Brain before, during and after the sale was amazing. The entire deal was executed over the phone as I live in Texas and Brian handled it like a pro. We closed our deal Thursday evening and I had the watch in my possession Friday morning. I also wanted an extra strap with the watch but was not sure what shade I wanted, so Brian even went as far as contacting Panerai to speak to their specialist to find the perfect match for the one I wanted. The over all experience was amazing and they have definitely made a customer for life. Highly recommended.

Nicole Gazin has been my Gift Registry Concierge and she is absolutely fabulous! If you are thinking of registering at Shreve I would definitely recommend calling ahead and planning to go at a time when Nicole is there. She is incredibly patient, meticulous in her record keeping, has continually gone above and beyond to help me track down specific items, create lists of things, keep me informed on selections made by guests, etc. Not only this but she is very accessible and has a very quick response time for any questions or concerns. She has been a true pleasure to work with and as someone who registered at several places other than Shreve the experience that I have had with Nicole is vastly superior to any that I have had with a different establishment.

After a couple of months of heavy research for what would be my first ‘serious’ watch, I went into SCL to see in person the ones I had pre-selected. Mike Shaw welcomed and patiently showed me the many different watches I wanted to try on. In spite of specifically telling him that I wasn’t ready to commit yet since I was still in my learning process [and therefore wouldn’t be getting a sale from me that day], Mike spent a good hour with me discussing the virtues of each model without any rush. He said that forming relationships is more important to them that making a fast sell – and it showed. A week later, I was happy to buy a watch from him.

I cant say enough good things about Shreve, Crump, & Low and specifically Mike Shaw. Hes been working with me since for an extended period of time helping me select the perfect watch for my tastes and budget. Im very excited to get my first real watch in a Seamaster 300M diver and hes to thank. Whenever I have questions hes quick to respond to emails or spend lots of time digging into the specific packaging and details of the pieces as shown below. If youre interested in learning about the industry, talking watches with a great guy, and being treated like a star throughout the buying and owning process--this is the place to go!

After much deliberation, I was ready to purchase my first Lange & Sohne timepiece. Several collectors in the Boston area had recommended Shreve, Crump & Low because of their knowledgeable staff and extensive inventory. Realizing it was a very big decision, Susan was patient and helpful in answering my various questions, which made the buying process very smooth and enjoyable. It’s nice to deal with someone who really knows their product and understands the mind of a fastidious watch collector. Needless to say, I would highly recommend this store, and I’m already planning my next watch purchase from Shreve, Crump & Low.
