Dont go here. Terrible experience. I will never again take my car here. What a giant mistake. I brought my Prius in because I was getting intermittent hard brakes along with 4 warning lights and a high pitched computer beep. Their conclusion was that the 14 month old battery was dead. When I asked how this could possibly be, they told me I was not driving enough (5,000 miles per year is apparently not enough). They then told me it was 2 months out of warranty and I would have to pay for the replacement out of pocket. I told them that was ludicrous and that I would like to read their diagnostic forms and readings as I was out of state and could not see the car myself. They told me they could not provide any of the paperwork and thats when I knew something was WRONG. Big red flag. Im an engineer and a certified, non-practicing auto tech and wanted to see the issues first hand. After some snappy responses from the agent I asked to talk with another representative. I was shuffled around for almost an hour on he phone during my work day. I then told them I was no longer going to do business with them to which they told me I still owed them $150 for the diagnosis. So I called Toyota of Wellesley (sooo much better!) where I had gotten my battery replaced the year before. They said it was still under warranty. Ok, so I call back Herb Chambers Toyota and told them that the battery was under warranty. The rep "checked" and kept her position. I told her to look it up in the system and that Wellesley Toyota would email them a receipt of my purchase along with a copy of the two year warranty. Long story short, they caved and replaced the battery under warranty. Ok, so its not done. In my most basic understanding of cars, I knew it could not be a battery problem that was causing all of these brake issues. The car wouldnt start or there would be other signs if that was the problem. One week later, one week after they replaced the battery, my car has the exact same problem it had before: intermittent hard brakes dash blowing up with lights, and a computer beep. So yeah, not a battery issue. In short: poor customer service: -will not give you access to diagnostic documents -will not give you access to technicians to discuss the issue -do not check Toyota dealership computer systems to confirm parts coverage or warranty -blamed me for parts failure: "thats what happens when you dont drive your car enough. We see this all the time with people from the city" Poor diagnostic ability: -read the numbers off the code reader and immediately jumped to conclusions instead of actually analyzing the issue Take your car to a qualified dealer if you are having any sort of problem that requires critical thought. This place will just end up costing you more time and money in the end. Dont go here.

HORRIBLE!!!! I BOUGHT on Wednesday & it FAILED INSPECTION yesterday!! I had a lovely 2012 Prius v that was totaled while parked. I mourned, shopped, and decided to buy the same car (used) from this dealership, since it is closer to home and I thought it would be EASIER, given my insane work schedule right now. Instead this happened: - I got a text on Wednesday saying the car was "ALL SET" by the salesman, Clyde. I show up, and the car had NOT BEEN INSPECTED. Just "SWING BY within the next week" to get the sticker - WHAT???? What kind of SERVICE is this??? I PAID for the inspection already. My first mistake - dont EVER ACCEPT a car that has NOT BEEN INSPECTED!!! - I went to the dealer yesterday to get the INSPECTION. I waited 45 mins, then I am told it FAILED. WHAT?????? I JUST BOUGHT this damn car - FROM YOU!!! The front desk guy told me that when THEY refurbished it, THEY disconnected the battery; I need to drive 100-200 MILES IN THE NEXT WEEK to get it inspected. WHAT??? The guy behind the counter, with his cool tattooed sleeves, tells me to "calm down", he "is just the messenger", there is "nothing" he could do. WHAT??? THEY did the work on the car, THEY are a Toyota dealer - THEY DO KNOW this about the car!!! Isnt this ILLEGAL to sell a car that YOU KNOW will FAIL INSPECTION?? - I asked to speak with the service manager. He quickly backed away from the "there is nothing we can do" line when I bit his head off. His solution - one of their EMPLOYEES DRIVE MY CAR for 100-200 MILES. WHAT?? I have ZERO faith in this place right now, now I am supposed to give them the car to drive all this distance??? Given the service that I am currently receiving, I can only imagine how they would treat my car. UNBELIEVABLE!! So here I sit - working all weekend, having to make unplanned trips to Providence and Worcester in my non-existent spare time so that this car will pass inspection. 1) This DEALERSHIP SUCKS - do NOT BUY A CAR HERE!!! 2) NEVER, EVER take a car off the lot WITHOUT HAVING AN INSPECTION STICKER!!!! Hopefully this post will help others avoid this misery.

My wife leased a 2016 Rav 4 from a McGee Toyota in Hanover and they warned us to come in before we reach 36,000 miles. Well my wife hit 30,000 miles after only a year and three months so we went to Mcgee to see what we could do before we hit the 36,000 mile mark. One of the salesmen said we could do an upgrade to a new 2017 Toyota RAV 4 and they would give us the upgraded model an XLE for for $ 349 and no money down, just the fees of a $ 1,000. Well 2 weeks later I went in to close the deal and the salesmen completely reneged, now they wanted $ 399 and would not upgrade us to the XLE! I told the salesmen to kiss my a**, that they were con artists and would never get my business again. I immediately called Herb Chambers Toyota of Boston on Brighton Ave and spoke with a receptionist, I explained what happened and she said come in and talk, she was sure they could help us. Upon arrival I spoke with a sales manager named Clyde Chornovas and he took me to one of his salesmen Tony Liang. After working up the numbers Tony gave us a deal very close to what we were offered originally by McGee Toyota. We got an 2017 Toyota RAV 4 XLE with all the bells and whistles and my wife was ecstatic. Clyde and Tony were extremely professional and courteous and never once tried to play games with us. Because of Clyde and Tony I will always be a customer of Herb Chambers! Mike Burke Duxbury, MA

Instead of writing a negative review for any of the several dealerships I visited in the last two months, I wanted to praise Herb’s staff for making my family’s car buying experience pleasurable. Howie was the only manager that listened to what we wanted and didn’t try to sell us anything else. From the first moment I spoke to him on the phone, I was impressed by his professionalism and desire to get us in the Toyota 4runner we wanted. Due to the recent release of the 2014 model, the particular 4runner we wanted was not available this side of the Mississippi. Howie put his people to work. In just a short time, they were able to locate the exact truck on a ship in route to the U.S. In my experience, most dealerships would not put in the effort that Howie and his team did to secure the vehicle and make the sale happen. The 4runner arrived on schedule, was prepared perfectly and ready to go when I went in to finalize the paperwork. My salesman Sen took the time to describe each feature of the truck and made sure I didn’t stay any longer than I had too. Mark the finance manger explained all of the available options and didn’t pressure me into any I didn’t want. I write this review to let you know that Howie and his team went above and beyond for me, and for that, I will gladly drive past the four Toyota dealerships on my way to Herb Chambers for my next Toyota.
