Ok store ruined by incompetent and rude staff Im part of a gaming group in Maryland that unfortunately meets here sometimes because a bunch of us are in the area. Of the four times our group has met here: 1. Everything went great and I we had no problems with the store. 2. There is a magic tournament the day we are meeting, so we call ahead and are assured that everything will be wrapped up by about 1:00. We show up at 1:30 to find out that there is zero space available and that the tournament wont be over for hours. 3. We should have called first, so I wouldnt be upset when they didnt have space except there is no "Sorry, we are booked full today. We hope you come back some other time etc. etc...". Instead, the guy at the desk turns to me when I walk in the door, says "If youre looking to game today, thats not gonna happen" then goes back to whatever he was doing and doesnt acknowledge me again. 4. This time, we call ahead again. I give them the time, then get told that space probably will be an issue, probably wont be an issue, and to call the morning of and look, all by the same guy in the same call. Um... what? So we call again a little closer to the date and the guy tells us that they definitely have space set aside for our group. So we show up and start gaming. About midway through, the tournaments start up and the owner comes by our table and, in as curt a tone Ive ever heard, informs us that the tables we are at are for the tournaments and that we need to check the schedule before we set up. When we mentioned that we called ahead multiple times, she told us that we didnt "sign in" properly and that the people at the desk didnt know we were here (This isnt a big store. I could see the front desk where I was sitting and wed been there four a couple hours and nobody had said anything.). She then told us not to sit there in the future and acted like she was doing us some sort of favor by not making us move (although she had some of our group move their crap so they could take the folding table for the tournament and set it up somewhere else. Why they needed that particular table is anybodys guess as they then got another one that looked nearly identical to replace it, so we got to set everything up from scratch again on the new one). In short, cruddy staff ruin an otherwise good store. Go somewhere else if you can. Its sad that there isnt much other choice in this area. Games and Stuff up in Glen Burnie is a MUCH better store with infinitely nicer staff if the location is practical for you.

Ive been here multiple times, I would say between about 20-30 times. If I could give negative stars I would. Where to start?......first I would have to say the staff are extremely rude, disrespectful, and uncaring. The store owner is an older women that acts like she doesnt care about anyone or anything. She acts like she doesnt wanna talk to you, and when you talk to her she gives you this look and this feeling while youre interacting with her that youre some how annoying her with your presence. She and the other staff there are quick to throw you out the minute you tell them you cant or dont want to pay to play in the tournament. Now I play yugioh so the next two things Im about write about, I cant really speak for every other game thats played or supported there so I can only say my experiences with playing yugioh there. The staff there are cheaters for people they know and are friends with that play yugioh and enter into tournaments. Me and some friends of mine have had encounters there that while playing in yugioh tournaments, during a match weve had ruling issues where we would be playing against someone that was buddy buddy with one or more of the staff members there that judge the tournaments. While in the match we would have a ruling issue as far as a game mechanic or how some of the cards would interact with each other based on the rules of the game. Well....what would end up happening is, when we made our play. Realizing they would lose the match and or be in a bad spot leading to a loss in the match they would call for the judge. When the judge came over and we explained what was happening. The judge would always rule on their favor, this happened not to just me but also my friends as well so I knew it wasnt just a coincidence or some fluke or something. Then when me and or my friends would try to debate the ruling and want to check it for our selves the judge would say if you do Ill have to give you a game loss for intentionally stalling the game. We couldnt believe it. Needless to say we lost tournaments because of this cheating ass Bullshit. Also not to mention most of the yugioh players that go there are card sharks. They steal cards, their rude, disrespectful, also their hygiene is very poor. I would stay away from this place......Im never going back. Ive found much better shops to go to.

I went to this store with my boyfriend and his friend, and I flat out regret it. The staff is so rude, I will never be going back. I went during the Return to Ravnica prerelease, and I was shocked that there were 115 people there, and that they were actually going along with the extremely unnecessary rules set by the staff. First off, everyone got to stand in a line outside, and a staff member later shouted out the door that "no cutting in line is allowed, and anyone caught doing so will be kicked to the end of the line." They were literally treating the customers like a herd of sheep. Next, they thought up another rule: you had to have $30 cash with you to participate. No debit cards allowed. Whats more is that when I finally made it to the front of the line, I saw a debit card reader right in front of me as they told me to get to the back of the line since I didnt have cash. Finally, my boyfriend came with cash, but we still had to wait in a line behind 75 people. The rules never ceased even when we got in the door. I was disgusted by the fact that they treat people like elementary school children while basically holding their hand out for cash. I even want to report them to the Better Business Bureau, but I dont know yet. To top it all off, their greed has put every other card shop within 75 miles out of business. Its a wonder that people let them get away with this. If I was in a position where I could do so, Id shut them down. In a nutshell, I would strongly recommend that you boycott this store. If enough people read this, hopefully they will go out of business.

I came here for 6 weeks in a row for Magic the Gathering events on Fridays (around Sept and Nov 2012). This was because I was new to the area and didnt know of any other places to go. First off, the owner/manager is a cocky douche; hes just "better than you", you know? The staff are okay, but are probably pressured under the weight of his regime. The store itself, especially the gaming area, is horrendously disgusting. You could not convince me that anyone has ever done anything in that store to clean anywhere. The floors are disgusting, the tables are disgusting, the people are.. disgusting. Heres the thing: I got sick 4 out of the 6 times I went to that store before. I stopped going to this place once I realized that I was getting the cold/flu after playing Magic here. What do you know, I havent been sick since. I mean, Im a clean person and I wash my hands often enough, but that bathroom there is... nightmarish. Probably did me more harm than good to wash my hands in there. I see another 5/5 review touting their good prize support at a tournament... thats like giving a grocery store 5/5 because they have food. All events Ive been to have had good prize support, regardless of the location. They DO have a good selection of games, Ill give them that, but at what cost?! Just look up other comic/game stores in Gaithersburg, Frederick, and Clarksburg. Theyre a little further out if you found Dream Wizards as your closest, but its worth the drive.
