If I could give negative stars believe me I would. I have bought around 5 used vehicles in the past and never had the terrible expected used car sales man scheme. I purchased a used vehicle with 101,000 miles on it. I live in Northern Virginia and Barnes dealer Jerry Scmidt also lives in the area and had agreed to bring the car to a neutral location in NOVA. I brought $9,600 CASH to Jerry and was happy with my purchase. I went to the DMV to license the vehicle only to find Jerry did not include to title with the sale.. now I have a used car sales man, Jerry, with $9,600 of my cash and my title! I call Barnes and they want me to come to their location in MD to grab the title...why did we meet in NOVA to exchange the car and Cash if I then have to go back to Maryland to grab the title.. There was no remorse from Jerry or Mr. Barnes. I told them I wanted my money back because they still own the vehicle because they have the title, Mr. Barnes replied with "go ahead and bring the car back but im not giving you your money".. great guy.. to go along with the worst service I have every experienced in any industry. My vehicle needed $300 dollars worth of new brakes, barely passed inspection, had no tire jack in it, and I found a Ben and Jerrys ice cream lid underneath the front seat the day after I purchased it. I hope this helps everyone who is trying to avoid the classic stigma of a used cars sales man.

My girlfriend purchased her first car here, and at first, everything seemed alright. We arrived, they greeted us, and let us test drive the car. After deciding to make the purchase, I came in the next day to sign the purchase agreement and transfer of ownership papers. I was told to sign everything on my girlfriends behalf since she was not available. Rather than tell me that its required for HER to sign them herself, they explained it should be ok for me to sign them. However, this was not the case. MVA/DMV require the person purchasing to sign. So we spent the next 3 days trying to coordinate her to sign them. It would have been nice if the salesperson already knew this, ya know, cause this is supposed to be their area of expertise. They also handed me the inspection notice without taking their own copy, so I had to get that to them as well. Very disorganized. To top it all off, the salesperson was incredibly rude, sarcastic, and very unpleasant to deal with. She even spoke badly about my girlfriend when she wasnt around. There are far too many other car dealers, used or new, around to visit. Skip this place and save yourself the aggravation of dealing with incompetent, rude and just plain mean people.

I bought my first car here, and I would highly recommend against doing that. I agreed to buy the car from the salesperson. I wrote a personal check and got a call the next day saying theyd lost the check (which fired off scam alert in my mind really really loud). I immediately canceled the first check and wrote them another. As it turns out the owner had taken the check from the salesperson without telling her. I then got a call from him saying if the second check was cashed I wouldnt get my car (basically telling me hed steal from me). Eventually it was worked out on their end, but he never apologized for the threat and actually blamed me for everything even though it was entirely his fault. Once I actually got my car one of the fog-lamps fell out on the way home (which only frustrated me because it was so cliche). They never gave me my spare key and they never gave me the code to unlock the radio. Other than those issues the car was in good working order, but the hassle of dealing with them was not something Id like to repeat. If youre looking for the stereotype of a shady used car dealership, go to this place.

This is a horrible used car junk yard I brought one car it did not last the day the engine blow in it and then I had to take it back pay to have it towed then they did not want to return me my money I had to have the police come then that old man is a crook then we settled on another car in exchange for money and that car only lasted three days before the transmission went out all their cars are bad they come from the big dealers witch were trade ins that the real dealers cannot sell and he goes and buys all the bad cars and tries to sell to save you a headache I would not buy from them all the good reviews come from the woman that works there Sandy and you go and see her shes the one that route the good review for the company..
