Worst Home Depot Id been to. The only thing they are capable of doing is working the cash register. If you ever need to return or cancel or modify an order its nightmare. Ive had special ordered item being delivered two weeks behind schedule. Made two requests to modify delivery contact phone number, and both times an agent confirmed that the change had been made but they werent. If you have to ever call in to the store, you will be on hold forever and transferred in circles. You ask the operator for appliance department, youll be on hold for 20 min, then itll transfer back to the operator. It seems like no ones doing their job at this store. This is the past, so I am used to terrible service at this home depot, but let my pain be your lesson. My latest ordeal with this HD is a simple cancellation of an appliance delivery order that Id placed couple days ago, been on the phone for over an hour. Heres what I had to go through. I went into the store yesterday (just a day after purchasing) trying to get refund for the undelivered appliance. Delivery wasnt even schedule until a 10 days later. They claimed that the associate that deals with delivery cancellation isnt around - Faziena/Cee Cee - and asked to call a direct number the next day. Mind you I was in the store at the time, what kind of store cant deal with refund in the store on a normal business day. The next day, I called the supposed direct number. Its a general store directory. Initially I asked for Faziena/Cee Cee, put on hold for 20 min, nothing happens. It goes back to general operator, I repeat, same thing happens. The operator apologizes, but still attempts to connect to a line that no one picks up. By the way, THIS IS WHAT THEY DO EVERY TIME YOU CALL. I then ask for appliance department, after 10 min of wait, someone picks up from electrical department. This store is so incompetently ran, I dont know where to begin. While I was writing this, an operator came back on and said "may be theyre on a lunch break". Thats not an answer to someone whos been holding on the phone for over an hour at 3pm in the afternoon. So, finally, I was on the phone for 15min with American Express, and successfully charged back my transaction. Problem solved. Seriously, OMG. People who work here are really really stupid about their job. They dont know and they dont care. Look at other reviews with 1 stars (0 star isnt an option.) Home Depot corporate HQ should fire everyone and raze this store to the ground.

1 Star for Hyattsville MD store only (5 Star for Silver Spring store) I went to the Hyattsville MD store on December 14 to get a price and order doors for all of the doors on my house after a burglary on December 7 (2011). This man from the Door Department said the computer was down, or so he said. I gave him my telephone number and e-mail to send me a ballpark figure as soon as the computer was running. After a few days, I called and he said (which I do not believe) that he needed my address -- and still (this is December 29) I have not heard from him. On December 27, I went to the Home Depot in Silver Spring MD. I said that I was tired of being jerked around by the Hyattsville store and I wanted someone who knew what they were doing. Two very professional people (a man, Albert, and a woman...I think Florence) came and got the ball rolling. Within 30 minutes, my order was placed and the company called the next day to set up an appointment for measuring (which they just did). The woman, Florance?, called the next day to confirm the appointment and asked if there was anything else I needed. This Home Depot in Silver Spring MD is 5 Star. When I called Hyattsville MD Home Depot, the woman disagreed that the door man did not know what he was doing. The "manager" -- if he really was the manager -- just kept saying Yes Mam and then hung up. he never heard a word that I wa saying. So, all I can do is warn people against ever stepping foot into the Hyattsville MD store -- head immediately to the Silver Spring MD store where they know how to be professional.

As with most Home Depot stores, this branch has a high volume of consumers so it is expected not to get immediate help from the staff who are actually quite good at attending to the needs of the person lucky enough to snare them away from other consumers. However you do have some bad apples in this store. It is not unusal to hear employees using extremely foul languange in earshot of the customers. Also it can be fustrating when trying to get information from a staffer who clearly does not want to be working there, much less dealing with the public. The store lacks diligent security and many items are stolen. The proof in that is in the many packagings you find open with contents removed and then partially hidden. People will also raid boxes for spare parts for items they have previously bought. Avoid buying anything that is open, the staff usually leaves it right on the shelf even if they are aware of it. As for the quality of the merchandise, you must be careful of buying anything a box, especially any box that is taped and not stapled. If you consider buying anything that was re-taped, you do it at your own risk. This Home Depots return policy is extremely relaxed and the customers know it. The possibility of buying a tool that was previously used then returned and put back on the shelf is quite high, Ive been a victim of that twice. Once you buy anything expensive, examine it at Customer Services before leaving the store in case youve received bad merchandise.

I was in this past weekend to get wood and shelving brackets for my shed. Asked an associate for help cutting the wood. He said "Theres the self-service cutting station the next aisle. For those not interested in that option, we can cut it for you down this aisle." I asked him to cut it. Once I informed him that I needed 8 cuts on three pieces of wood, he said "You want me to make your shelves for you." "I want cuts at 36" on each of this 12 planks, and on this one 4 plank," was my response. My nephew was with me and thought the guy was rude. He happened to be white (Im black) and my nephew thought that played into his response to us. I thought he wasnt really interested in working or at least not dealing with obvious novices. Either way, not the best experience Ive had. Add to this that I was looking for sanding blocks and was directed by 3 associates to everywhere but the aisle they were located -- even was sent to gardening. The store is short on engaged and informed associates. I know some complain about it being poorly stocked, but that hasnt been my issue as much as mediocre customer service and unknowledegable staff.

If I could give zero stars I would. Do not get your cabinets from this home depot. The kitchen design department is the worst. We worked with Carlos and it was an awful experience. It took him forever to order our cabinets and he could not send us a breakdown of what we ordered because "his email was down." He assured us everything was ordered correctly. 4 weeks later my cabinets came in and my top decorative molding and toe kicks were not in the order. I called Home Depot and he forgot to order them. He then replaced the order and I had to wait two and half more weeks to get the moldings. When the he moldings finally came in, it turned out he did not order enough. Once again I had to hunt down a manager and have her order more moldings (this is not the third order). My kitchen has now taken 5 weeks longer than it should have because their employees cant order anything correctly. My experience has been a complete nightmare. I advise you to drive out of your way to go to another Home Depot or go to Lowes for your cabinets.
