As the friendly & helpful owner told us upon entering the shop, most of their clients are repeat clients & local word-of-mouth business. The shop is nothing fancy, but they had a nice small selection of modern mens eyewear -- something other downtown shops seem to lack. The prices were extremely reasonable for frames (no big markups), and are pretty standard for the lenses. They are extremely fast in ordering and can have your glasses ready within a day or two! MY ONLY WARNING: They do not do eye exams there, so be extra careful that your glasses prescription is received to them & then ordered out by them correctly by your optician. Double & triple check and also bring in the paperwork directly if you can. Somewhere someone took our prescription down incorrectly and the order was delayed. (They seemed to be less friendly after that, haha). Coincidently, that same week, we ran into a co-worker who had the exact same thing happen there! His numbers were also taken down incorrectly. They are super nice and friendly, and I believe in supporting local “ma & pa” shops in Portland – but you may have to monitor this transaction a little more closely than those bigger businesses.

I love this place! I have never, ever had an eye appointment before, so I was nervous, and did not know what to expect. I got there about 15 mins early, the very nice lady Patricia gave me my paperwork to fill out. I filled it out, and not even 5 mins later I went it for the initial check up, and pictures. I looked around at some glasses for a minute, and then a very sweet doctor took me in. She was so sweet (she said she was new to this office and of course I forgot her name...) she took her time with me, and answered any questions I had, and made me feel very comfortable. She even took an extra step that wasnt initially apart of the original work she was supposed to do, and advised I should get dilated. The girls out front were AMAZING! They were so relaxed, and laid back, but very knowledgeable. The only girls name I can remember right now is Erin, she is awesome! They all came out to help me pick glasses, and were honest about how they looked :) It felt like a family, and I will always come here when I need anything for my eyes, AND it was all covered by my insurance so that made it even better! Thank you ladies for making my first experience, a great one!

DO NOT GO HERE! I came here to get a script filled for a pair of black Ray Ban Wayfarers. I told these morons to match the original lenses; dark black. Everyone has a pair of these and what theyre supposed to look like is common knowledge. They gave me brown/red lenses instead, and they werent cut well; the lenses popped out with ease. I had to argue with them to re-do them properly. When they did, they gave me the exact same lenses, but instead of cutting the lenses properly this time they melted/warped the bottom of the frame and ruined my brand new glasses. ARE YOU TELLING ME YOU CANT MAKE A PAIR OF BLACK WAYFARERS?!? Dont go here. Theres a place across the street go there instead. Patricia and Chuck do not care about their customers.

Not impressed. Arrived for my appointment early and had all my ID cards, etc. Then I had to wait over 45 minutes (during my appointment time) for a walk-in to finish. Then Dr. Tricia Pirone was noticeably rushing through my appointment. I dont trust the updated script I got. I also did not receive the dilated eye test which my insurance paid for. The front desk people were great; however, the quality of service during my actual exam was far below what anyones expectations should be. Next year Ill probably go back to my old Doctor even if it is out of network. He actually gave me time (my scheduled time!).

Im astounded at the last such negative review. Ive been dealing with Priscilla and Chuck for longer than I can remember, and have only had very positive experiences. DO go there!
