Their return policy is a SCAM, their prices are OUT RAGES, and, the quality is SUBPAR! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM! After approximately five years of owning my L.L. Bean backpack it became simply unusable among many other problems the backpack had developed over the years when one of the two zippers completely broke. The item was purchased new for me from the L.L. Bean store in Bangor Maine so I returned to the store to take advantage of their guarantee. Upon entering the store they had no replacement back packs of comparable style/size so my intention was not to even replace the backpack that day I just wanted an estimate of how much money on an L.L. Bean gift card I would get to replace it and to find out if there was any way they could order me the backpack while at the same time allowed me to keep the other backpack since I do need something to keep my stuff in the meantime. Upon this the cashier started searching all pockets for something and informed me it was missing a tag. I explain to the cashier there never was a tag I never attempted to remove the tag and that there is no evidence that there ever was a tag that was removed! Like I said before this backpack was purchased new! They proceeded to ask for names of people that couldve purchased the item my mother was with me so she gave her name and interestingly enough there was no record forever purchasing anything before the year of 2016 definitely not the five year backpack so we proceed to get my grandmothers name who is a frequent L.L. Bean customer and has been an L.L. Bean credit card holder for at least the past 30 years receives flyers at her house frequently buys and return items at her local stores in Connecticut frequently purchases whenever in Maine and even shops online! But yet not in the system! What a LIE! After this we begin to get rather angry and additional staff come over to see what is happening they all start treating us as if we are criminals and are attempting to steal from them! What in the world is wrong with someone trying to return something and follow up on the policy which they were guaranteed when purchasing they didnt guarantee me it would last for a day they guaranteed me my lifetime! Why in the world do I need to keep a receipt for what theyre going to be guaranteeing me is a lifetime? Why is it my fault your computer system is a lie and doesnt record anything? The build quality of their items is pitiful! The inability to be able to follow their own lifetime guarantee is ridiculous if they dont want to follow it get rid of it! Stop charging outrageous prices for junk and start to get reasonable prices! Ive had similar experiences at the Ellsworth store as well! I have never had a good experience with L.L. Bean! They have SCAMMED me out of the almost hundred dollars for the backpack and then the additional cost to buy a backpack from another company When you do business with this Company youre not guaranteed lifetime quality you are guaranteed a headache and being treated as if you are a common criminal when you are trying to just to take advantage of something that they agreed to when you gave them an out rages amount of money for their product! After this experience I decided to go over to Sams Club and pick up a Swiss gear backpack for only $40 and its definitely a better quality than the L.L. Bean products and comes with a five year warranty which Im sure they actually follow! This Mainer is done with this Maine company!

I like LL Bean outlets in general. I have noticed that the prices are not as low as I might have expected for an outlet. I recently returned some good I purchased in order to re-buy them online from their site. The sale was actually as good, better for some purchases, than the outlet. They staff in the Bangor facility are excellent and their policies are enough to recommend shopping there anytime. They do provide a place to examine some products in person like canoes or kayaks. They have a large selection of clothing and shoes, some furniture, lots of camping paraphernalia, some luggage and smaller bags. The store is clean and accessible. Its always worth a look.

Wonderful little outlet store that offers last years styles at unbeatable pricing. Of course everything includes L.L. Beans unbeatable factory warranty, a lifetime one. This outlet however, is very small and things are extremely hard to come by. Do not window shop online then go in here expecting to find your item, you wont! However, go in here to browse and not looking for a specific item and you will leave with a high quality item at an outstanding price.

I realize that the "Spirit" of L.L. Beans return policy is the "life of the product" but I expect my $250 rolling office to last more than 5 goddamn years and I would not have bothered purchasing it if I knew that when the extending handle broke off I would only get $15 towards a new one...for an outlet store, I seem to keep paying retail prices...L.L. Bean, get your head on straight...

Prices werent really any better than what you could find online for most things. Even though they advertise up to 70% off, that is only for a very small amount of items. Most things were only 20 to 30% off of the highest retail amount. My wife found a couple of items on the clearance rack but I left empty handed.

I never found the good deals on clothes that I thought I would, but I did get two day packs at 50% off. I was willing to accept the monograms "PHH" and "LKY" on their fronts in order to get two for the price of one. Now I have a bright blue bag that says "Lucky" and a black one that scoffs at the world "Pffh!"

Great quality products at decent prices for the most part. The stuff there are the returns that were personalized or old products or defects it seems like, but everything we bought from them is just as good as from the busy Freeport store without the crouds and high prices.

Genuinely surprised by how great the prices were. They mostly cary returned items but you would never know the difference. Come here first if youre in the market for outdoor supplies or even socks and backpacks.

They seem to never have a very good stock. The clothes are high quality, but I can get clothes as high of quality for cheaper elsewhere
