The St Roch market reminds me of a mini version of a European food hall and it is becoming a destination bringing people from all over the city. As far as it not being a grocery, it never was by modern standards. The neighborhood has always needed a grocery but that is another matter. The only limitation is the overwhelming ambient noise problem that gives things a frantic feel even when it is not crowded. I always dine outside in the back. Adding to the noise is the piped in radio echoing in the space. With all the attention to detail in design it is a shame that there was no plan for noise masking. Maybe it would be possible to use the overhead speakers for white sound and plan for music (not live radio) closer to ear level for those who chose to dine inside. I see the rear outdoor space developing more as a beer garden with a roof or tent .It has only been open a few weeks and they are already adding events and live music.

Great space with great food. I feel like its important to note, especially for first timers, that this is not actually a market. Its more like a sophisticated food court. There are minimal options for produce and you wont find anything like breads and meats and cheeses (which Ill be honest, is what I associate with the word market and is therefore more what I was expecting). Definitely think more for court than farmers market. But once I got over that realization, everything we had was delicious. A little pricey for the portions but mostly worthwhile.

I love this place everything in here is pristine, different, and if their customer service is always consistent. The food is really good, ambiance is perfect. This is also a cozy spot that would be great for small meetings, lunch dates, and just about all of the above. Goood place to visit, I would like to give 4 stars but sometimes the morning crew can be a bit sluggish. St. Roch Market is my go-to for breakfast. I had the breakfast bowl and it came with bacon toast, egg, arugula, avocoda, and some type of sauce not sure but I ate it and it was good

Wide selection of sit down, take away, or patio-eating food options from various local makers and vendors (for about $10-15 for lunch). I particularly enjoyed the customer attention and Gulf oysters at The Curious Oyster. Was tempted by the glorious bread pudding at The Sweet Spot. Minus a star for the current drama of how this will boost (and gentrify) the areas property values, and the insensitivity for the actual needs of the current residents and neighborhoods history. Which I hope is being addressed via other outlets.

Very cool food-court type dining hall, with a full bar offering signature cocktails! Plenty of different types of food from all around the world to choose from by the dozen or so merchants lining the perimeter of the market. Line and order style at each counter. Lots of great authentic Cajun and Creole options, a barista station, and even dessert! The merchants rotate their menus from breakfast to lunch/dinner throughout the day. You might have to hover around and wait for a table during peak dining hours.

The surrounding neighborhood made me think I had input the wrong address. But once inside I realized this was the gem I had been looking for. Beautifully laid out space, buzzing with locals and maybe the occasional tourist like myself. The space is filled with small business stations, each one offering their own specialties and influence to the market. Still, there remains a flow to the interior. All in all its an eclectic, authentic taste of reality outside the the chaos of the French quarter.

RE: Juice Nola: I watched the baldish guy go from taking a payment, to sticking his hands into a salad, to moving boxes, to another register transaction without ONCE cleaning or sanitizing his hands! He sticks his hands right into the salad and uses his fingers to pick up the ingredients. So gross. Also, I waited at least 20 min for 2 uncooked items. If they were for me I would be calling the health and safety board. Best avoided!

Completely underwhelming. I thought we were getting a new market in an underserved grocery store desert. Instead we get $9 juice and yet another coffee shop. Great for rich white folk, but the entrepreneurs who finished this project completely missed the point of serving this community in any meaningful way. Sure, itll make tons of money, but it will further gentrify the neighborhood and drive people out of the St Roch neighborhood.

Rarely a bad bite, my current favorites are the oyster bar that is now run by Elysian Seafood (so good crab claws) and the breakfast burritos and tacos and migas and all the things from La Mezcla. Coast Roast Coffee is excellent and I hope it stays there forever. Im glad some vendors have used their stall as a stepping stone to expanding to their own locations, since that was the proposed point of the whole thing.

If you have complaints about overpricing or it being "pretentious" go eat at McDonalds and dont leave this market a bad review. The food is worth the cost, and the people here are very friendly. I can see it being a tad pretentious, but go somewhere else if it bothers you that much. Theres a wide variety of things to try here, and all have not fallen short of delicious. 5 stars, for the St. Roch Market!

The best way to describe this place is a gourmet food hall. So many different selections and vendors. This was right around the corner from the place I stayed in NOLA. We ate breakfast here every morning and dinner once. I got something different each time and it was all delicious. Even though this isnt right in the heart of the French quarter it is worth traveling to if you like good food.

Well conceptualized market. We had drinks at Mayhaw. I had the stubborn mule. It was good, but tasted a little watered down. My husband had the Elysian bbq shrimp poboy. There was nothing bbq about it. Just unseasoned shrimp served dry on bread with butter on the side. He wasnt impressed. I had the tofu tacos at T2 and I loved them! They were so fresh and the peanut sauce was incredible!

Its a cool upgrade over the old St Roch Seafood market, but I didnt find anything that screamed a must visit. There are a few interesting eating places contained within, but nothing looked good enough for me to purchase as a dinner meal. I would say this is more of a place to come for lunch or a quick bite. Ill probably give it another shot because the atmosphere is cool.

This is a great spot in an area regarded as sketchy but rapidly improving. There are many counters where various establishment are opened and sell food or drink which is usually original and quite good but not inexpensive. These include coffee, various ethnic foods, sandwiches, smoothies, fruit and fresh produce. The turnover is fairly high. I like the place.

Expensive but an excited atmosphere and food variety make this place fun for locals. I have only good things to say about the fresh juice and salad man, and the coffee is good but at Silver Lake prices it oughta be. Food is good but.. its the communal atmosphere that makes St Roch fun. I prefer DRYADAS market less people more pastries and safer for bikes.

One of my new favorite spots for a delicious quick bite. Theres a great mix of unique cuisine here. Its always busy, but you can get your food within a reasonable amount of time considering the fact that almost everything offered is made fresh to order. Youll see all kinds of people here and I love to see this rare level of diversity among locals.
