I like the concept. There are a lot of different food options in convenient proximity. Seating is limited and nothing special. Visited the taco place inside the Public Market. Wow, some of the best tacos I ever had. I had the fish tacos and the portions were more than adequate and the fish was high quality. Would definitely go back and try ice cream located at the shop located inside at the eastern corner entrance. Little bit of a ruckus in the Public Market on a weekend night so this is not the kind of place youd seek out for peace and quiet from a long workday, but if you want some liveliness its great.

Weve been enjoying the myriad establishments, most especially IA and Empty Bowls. We eagerly awaited the opening of The Garden of which we have mixed reviews. The beer selection is amazing! Food, not so much. The worst part is that they dont allow any food from other vendors even if someone in your party is ordering from their menu. (This just pissed us off, so we went elsewhere.) Also, when the bar is full the noise level makes being anywhere in the Market uncomfortable. We walked in the other night for dinner and walked right out because the noise level was painful!

No longer a market in any traditional sense, SBPM has overcome its near-death experience by turning itself into a glorified food court - slash - beer and wine bar. That said, the food vendors are for the most part great - Empty Bowl for great Asian noodles, Ia for poke bowls and fresh oysters, and Corazon for gourmet tacos. The ambience is still trying to overcome bad lighting and acoustics - its loud - but worth a visit if youre in town just to sample the great food and grab a glass of local wine or beer.

Half of the little boutique stands/restaurants are closed at any given point. The space is large and inviting but the rent is obviously too high as few places are surviving. Good wine bar and ice cream and noodles, everything else was usually (very) overpriced for what it was (probably why they went out of business!). If they can get some more shops in here on a more permanent basis itll be great, for now, I would stay on State Street.

Staffs are disrespectful to some customers and discriminate among customers. Technically, they indirectly invite the rich to shop at their place and reject average people. You can notice this point by reading the typical sign of " Right of refusing service to any one". They put these sign clearly at the entrance to convey you this point. You see this sign at many places, but few places emphasize it.

love this place! great venders cant wait to try them all so far Santa Monica sea food company is Amazing! empty bowl has the most authentic noodles Ive ever had get the hangover noodles! the bread place across from empty bowl is great for dessert. enjoy cupcakes was the one place that let me down. I didnt enjoy any of the cupcakes from their flight. the flavors were too much or too bland.

The Green Star Coffee two bags for $20, and the noodle bar are the only things that are truly affordable in the whole place, based on the socio-economic makeup of the neighborhood. Nice ambience, though, and The Garden bar replacing the useless little grocery shop I admit was a plus. But all the locals around here agree that the Vons that used to be in that spot was way more useful.

The location is a block out from State St. You have to Yelp or Google it to find it if you are not a local. There are a half dozen or so walk up restaurants inside, with AC and clean bathrooms. Seating is at a premium in the popular restaurants. Very popular places like cucina corazon have long lines, but is worth the wait. No parking dedicated to this place.

I regularly go during the week for lunch and a coffee. I recommend Flagstone Pantry and Greenstar Coffee. There are other good options too, like Empty Bowl Thai Food and Corazon Mexican restaurant. It is a little noisy because of the open ceiling and concrete floors. But theres a nice outdoor patio with limited seating.

The addition of the Beer Garden has brought this place to life. I still love beer + wine for the great wine selection too. They just need to work on filling the rest of the stalls with high quality vendors who arent going to break your budget ie $15+ salad served in a paper boat with 3 pieces of shrimp! lol.

I love coming here because there are so many different options of food choice. Everything is locally sourced and handmade and it shows in how delicious and beautiful everything is. The addition of the beer garden is great, too, because now you can spend more time here when youre done eating.

So many options, so much deliciousness. On this trip, I came for the coffee and for the ice cream. Locally sourced ingredients and great dining options; theres something here for everyone! Five yums, er, stars for all the options Ive tried here.

Plenty of menu offerings and variety at the beer garden. Never ran into an issue of seating, and overall a great place to meet up with friends. Public Market has seen a few businesses come and go though, so retention could be improved.

Great location with something for everyone when it comes to finding something to eat. It would be nice if there was more public seating to enjoy trying something from multiple locations. Cucina Corazon is a must when you go.

The Garden, a new casual beer on draught focused sports bar is slowly opening hoping to bring in a younger crowd and families to Public Market. I hope it succeeds. Its a great space with lots of potential.

Came here for the Enjoy Cupcakes! But really like all the other stores that are here. Parking is pretty easy to get, and overall a nice clean place with many different stores in close proximity.

Cool place to grab a drink and many options for food and snackage. Bathrooms are clean and its especially nice to swing by for dinner or drinks if you have a show to catch at the Arlington.

The seafood place was excellent. They have one of THE BEST lobster rolls Ive had in years! But leave room for desert--the cupcake place was amazing! Get a half dozen and share...or not.

Fun atmosphere to come get a drink, eat a meal, or even do some work. Most of the food is a little expensive, and theres a few empty spaces, but its a neat idea and a cool atmosphere.

We love the shops in the Public Market. The Garden is great to watch a game at with family or friends, Green Star coffee is a nice place to hang, and the other shops are cool.

Its nice to hang out. Things are a bit over priced but overall the service is good. Its a bit more lively now too that the market is gone and a beer hall is there.
