While on vacation in Napa, we stopped by Market to have some appetizers as a small afternoon snack with some wine. After we were seated as the only tabled guests in the place, the waitress took our drink orders. We waited for her to chat with the staff at the bar for about 10 minutes before receiving our drinks. She also asked us if we wanted bread before taking our order, which she never came back with. After our food came, she disappeared for the rest of our time there. We sat there with empty plates and wine glasses for about 15 minutes, until the head of the house realized. He said that the waitress took a break and he had to cash us out...with no acknowledgment that we had been waiting with practically no service. Im not sure what the deal was, but I will never go back and would recommend staying far away.

Now.. Ive been all over the world, and if ribs is on the menu Ill have it. This place ruined ribs for me, now I can not eat ribs and be satisfied in any other place. Market has the best baby back ribs I have ever tasted (including the ones my mother in law makes). We went to the same restaurant two times in a row which I have never done when traveling... The service is also friendly and fantastic (they gave me a double rack the second time). Also, you know that a restaurant is terrific when the locals come there on a daily basis. I not only will highly recommend this restaurant but also say that Market is a good reason to visit St. Helena. Its too bad that we are going home tomorrow or we would have gone there three times in a row.

Market is a very welcoming, comfortable, and relaxing restaurant. My husband LOVED the fried chicken, greens and mashed potatos. I ordered the evening special - lasgna - and was disappointed. The flavor was wonderful but it was soupy with very little pasta and mostly sauce. Would definitely return to try again as the staff was very attentive and friendly.

Excellent...we have not had a better meal in the Napa valley. Excellent food and a wide variety of small plates, appetizers, salads, and large plates. Outstanding service. Relaxed atmosphere...not pretentious!! No corkage fee and great selection of local wines. Highly recommended!!

Food was no good and not worth the price. I acknowledge we all have different taste buds however, their service was was worse then their food. Definitely felt unwelcomed and forgotten for the most part. Even if I could, I would not visit this restaurant again.

Great service. Yummy food. Really enjoyed the chopped salad topped with Dungeness crab that is flown fresh daily! Well worth the upcharge. Future calamari will be measured against this experience. Well done, Market.

The manager was so accommodating to our group, and we received great service. Food was delicious. Champagne-battered fish n chips were fantastic. For an interesting story, ask about where they got the beautiful bar.

Ive been here a couple times and both times I loved this place. The crab cake is fantastic (probably one of the best ever). The service is attentive but not excessive or obnoxious. This is one of my local favorites.

Was very disappointed in the squash soup, tasted very watery & too much nutmeg.....was very disappointed when I was charged for a refill on my arnold palmer......the empenada was tasty but didnt blow my socks off

Market was a breath of fresh air: well curated wine list, knowledgeable staff, food that was playful and nicely composed, and finally a real sense of hominess. A great St. Helena dining experience all around.

12/26/13 - A very good meal. Nice ambience and good service. The tiramisu was delicious (Id go back for it). The cost of dinner (appetizer, entree and dessert) for two was very reasonable. 4 - 5 stars!

This restaurant is run like a well oiled machine. Service was top notch. The lamb shank was divine, and I would highly recommend the smores dessert. We had ours to go, and it was yummy!

Splendid from beginning to end. Split a crab salad and the empanadas. Latte to finish it off. Small portions but perfect. Service was superb. Wonderful place to lunch between tastings.

This is one place that I always hit up in St Helena. The food is greater and the service is even better. Its harder to find fried chicken in the Napa Valley that is better than this.
