I called before hand and asked if the staff can measure my gate and get me in the right pair of running shoes. I was told yes, we do that. I get there and the staff member, while very polite, simply looked at the arch of my foot after removing my shoe and assured me he knew what shoe I needed. He sounded confident and after trying on the shoe I decided to trust him and make the $130 purchase. Fast forward 3 weeks and I have ran about 30 miles in the shoes and start to experience ankle and knee pain that I have never encountered before. I have been an athlete all my life. I am young. I wanted so badly for it not to be the shoes causing my problems, being I spent so much money on them. But after an exhaustive amount of research I have to conclude that I am natural under-pronator and need a shoe with very minimal arch support. The staff member assured me the shoe he chose for me was right for my foot, while it has a ton of arch support.... Literally the opposite of what I need in a shoe. I will contact them to see if I can do an exchange for store credit or hopefully get a refund. I accept I am partially to blame, I did not understand what proper gate analysis was and should have know simply looking at my arches is not right. However, if they did gate analysis was the question I asked and was told yes. I was given a shoe by a very confident, but ignorant, staff member which I am convinced resulted in injures that have caused me to stop running for a week now in order to heal. It would be the right thing to do to reimburse me. We will have to see if they make this right.
