Ridiculous! My brother warned me they would try to rip me off, being a single female, but its right next to my home and my brakes went out, so I wanted to stay close to home. After a friend found a leak in the right rear cylinder, I took it in and told them I needed rear brakes and the right rear cylinder. This is on a 95 Ford Ranger - they call a couple hours later and tell me the left cylinder also has a leak and for both back brakes and both cylinders it will be...$548.00!!! I told them to forget it. I went to Autozone and bought both cylinders for $20, took it to Brakeway and they charged me 88 for the rear brakes, and a small labor fee for installing the cylinders I brought, I think it was $25 - So $113 or $548... and the best part is when I went to pick up my truck from Pep Boys after telling them to forget it. The service guy tells me he will walk me out to my truck. I get out there and they still have the lift under it. He talks to a guy and looks at some papers and says "they say the brakes are out, you gonna drive it?" I said "Um, I drove it here..." He says hell back it out for me. I watch him get in and pump the brakes about 20 times, brake fluid gushing out on the floor where there was already a puddle under the right rear tire. I finally asked him to stop, so I would have some fluid left to drive it out of there. I mean really, was he trying to drain it right in front of me? Not to mention I pointed out to him that the floor under the left wheel was bone dry. I said when you guys called you said there was a leak in the left as well and you would have to replace it too. How is it a cylinder 2 inches off the ground has a leak, yet after sitting here for an hour there is not a drop on the floor, but there is a puddle on the right side. He jumped under the back with a pen light and said loudly "yep, the left is leaking too". Did you think I would never get the problem fixed and never know that the left was fine? You are ridiculous Pep Boys - never again and I will warn everyone I know.

Created an appointment to have tires installed. Checked my truck in and sat down. 3 hours later I asked why my truck still has not moved. "Oh well they must have forgot about it." For finally they pulled it in. The tech was rather nice younger inexperienced tech. Must have been why he only does tires. Tiny was his name. He was anything from tiny. But he is trying to earn a living! So when he was finished about 2 hours later. I asked him if he did the oil change.. and you already know the answer to this one.. So it was pulled back in.. then they pull the truck back out again.. so I asked about the alignment. They said they couldnt do an alignment on it.. as the shock tower was messed up.. I knew it was on its way out. But it finally went out.. But I explained to them that it has brand new tie rods on the front end and the alignment is way off.. the they didnt really care.. thats when I started bitching. I told them to just take the tires off. Cause I wasnt going to destroy a brand new 1000$ set of tires.. they agreed to set the toe.. Ok. So like 10 minutes later.. they pull the truck back out.. this time with cell phone picture of the computer screen saying the alignment (toe) was in... This was about a month ago. I have replaced both spring towers. And I will be taking it in for them to complete the rest of the alignment. How ever I WILL NOT be going back to this location. NO ONE there seemed one bit worried about customer service. NO ONE there attempted to see why my truck Sat for 3 hours NO ONE seemed to give on fu*k about me. They DID care about selling 1000$ worth of tires. Also. I told them I wanted to keep old tires... They removed valve stems. They charged me for tire disposal. So. I was charged to haul away tires I kept. And still drive away with old ass valve stems. This site is a joke.

Update (9/20/16) I just took a city bus to Pep Boys because they called to say they FINALLY put a replacement wheel on the car, but the problem now is that they didnt bother to CHECK TO SEE IF IT FIT, so when the tech tried to back away from the lift it dragged. Wouldnt hardly turn at all, and actually scratched the inside of the rim because it is smack against the ball joint. I REPEAT... THEY DIDNT EVEN CHECK TO SEE IF THE WHEEL FIT TO REPLACE THE WHEEL THEY BROKE IN THE FIRST PLACE. So now Im sitting in their waiting area on an Uber (which Ive had to use TWICE and bum rides just to get to and from work, and Ive actually had to miss a day because of all this), and all because, AGAIN, they werent PAYING ATTENTION to what they were doing!! IM BEYOND PISSED!! I will most certainly be contacting a lawyer about this, Pep Boys. Originally posted on 9/16/16 Have you ever seen the Ron White bit about how he had his tires changed and one of his wheels fell off? Well its not so funny when it happens to you while going 60 on the freeway. I had a tire replaced by these guys about a week ago, and apparently they had over-torqued three of my lug nuts, shattering two of the studs, and under-torqued the other two, causing them to just slide off the threading. A week later (last night, 9/16/16) the wheel failed under load, and a lone over-torqued nut barely kept the wheel on the car, allowing me to manage to get out of harms way. It turns out that they have damaged my custom wheel because the stud holes have elongated, so now theyre going to have to replace my entire wheel. I came in with a flat tire, and left with a damaged wheel that nearly came off in busy highway traffic... Pep Boys could have killed me or someone else on the road.

My alternator went out on my car when I was on Breckenridge Lane I turned in the Pep Boys parking lot thinking that I could get some help that was a big mistake! After waiting an hour and a half for them to diagnose the alternator that I already knew went out they proceeded to quote me a $690 charge to replace my alternator. The part at many of parts stores around town only cost $150 when I questioned the $ 400 charge for an alternator they told me thats the best they could do. So I said okay go ahead and make the repairs while I was waiting and looking online at how inexpensive the alternators should have been. I walked across the store to the parts department and had them give me a quote on the same alternator they quoted me 250 so I had them print it out and took it back over to their service department and asked for the manager. I then proceeded to ask the manager what the difference was in the part that he quoted me and the part the girls in parts quoted me. You should have seen the befuddled looks on their faces what a bunch of jackbags. Greg the service manager should be fired for the unethical business practices that are going on in the service department. Needless to say I had my car towed out of there in a hurry and I recommend that you do not go there to have service ever!!! Some poor woman in the waiting room I was speaking to while waiting 3 hours for this goofy debacle to go on told me that they were charging her $400 to replace her battery WTF?? Its highway robbery with terrible service they make you wait all day just to rip you off.
