My first experience with pops will be my last go in to the store bc wean you type in Google video game stores in Lexington ky it shows up so we go there the the people that was working were completely rude I ask about a item he says its not for sale I say ok thats fine he then imidantly says $3,000 you can have it. which was way over priced but it was the way he said it then the person with me was looking at something and then a guy that is also working there rudely says you need to get out of this area is for employees only and its in the front of the store right wean you walk in the door not to mention he was smoking a cigarette and blowing smoke all in his face. Then I asked about another item that I was interested in and he once again is rude and says its for display only it holds the games and there wasnt a single game in it it was totally empty and the video games where inside a glass display case and nowhere near the item I was looking at. So do your self a favor and avoid this store . Maybe if those 2 employees sideburns and ponytail as i called them bc they would tell me there names but if they wasnt working there it might have been a good experience if I could rate it 0 stars I would

During a trip to Lexington, my partner and I were directed to POPS Resale (for the records) by various people we met along our way. We had planned to stop in before picking up the car we would need for the next leg of our journey. It turned out that the car rental business was not by POPS as we had anticipated. After asking staff for directions, and finding that, on foot, we would likely not make it to our car rental before closing time, one of the owners of POPS, without hesitation, generously offered to drive us there himself and, upon arrival, even waited to ensure that we got where we needed to be! Certainly beyond five-star customer service. We had a lot of fun during the time we did spend browsing through POPS - the records and clothing especially - and hope to find our way back there soon - for the interesting store items themselves and the wonderful friendliness.

I totally agree with all the positive comments below. Pops Resale is awesome. The staff is super knowledgeable and friendly. I love anything vintage and collect and play old video games. Each employee has their expertise and if they cant answer your question (which is rare) then they get the person that can! ALL AROUND I LOVE POPS RESALE! I have never had any problems with poor service, and find it hard to believe that any store rep there would refer to their customers in a negative manner. My boyfriend and I go there as often as possible, the people are all really awesome and helpful!!! SHOP AT POPS!!!!

This is my favorite record store in town. They get new used vinyl every Friday. There is loads of 45s, 78s, and LPs to choose from. There some listening stations in the store so you can preview old records. They also have new records and new and used stereo equipment. There is a selection of vintage clothing and shoes in the back. They also have vintage video games, consoles, comic books, art, and various odds and ends. They will help with belts and needles for turntables. Cool store.

You will find virtually anything here; from 50s kitsch to LPs of all kinds to military uniforms to decorated goat skulls to every sort of clothing item imaginable, all at very reasonable prices. The close proximity to a Goodwill, Morgan Adams used books, antique stores, and the Meadowthorpe Cafe, a legendary local greasy spoon, all in the same strip mall makes this a one-stop shopping expedition and lunch break! One of Lexingtons greatest treasures!

The employees are nice, but the selection is lacking. They put all their "new used" stuff out on Friday at opening and youre guaranteed to deal with snooty regulars that grab half of what they see in hopes that nobody else can buy anything worth the trip. The hundreds of records in the back are leftovers from the Friday pickings. They do have a nice little new selection up front that they keep stocked regularly.

Pops is my favorite store in Lexington. They have a great records, they really care about the quality of the records they sale and their prices are spot on. Went to Pops when I first moved to Lexington, walked into the store and thought, "Its so small!" Just a few steps later I found out how wrong I was. Great staff, fun clothes, and you never know what youll find. I LOVE this place!

This place rules! Tons and tons of records, its almost overwhelming. The staff was very helpful on helping me find what I need every time I go, whether its video games or hard to find records they always bend over backwards to help me out. This shop is highly recommended for anyone that collects records, and loves classic video games!

I went in for speakers (not knowing much about them) The gentlemen working there was extremely helpful and knowledgable. They were very far with pricing and did not try to sell me anything that I didnt need. He also took the time to answer in detail, all my various questions. Great place, Honest business, Helpful people.

I could spend all day here browsing through old records and video games. Located in a strip mall on Leestown Road, this cool shop sells local music, stereos, vinyl records, local art, consigned clothing and more. They have listening stations so that you can check out an album before buying.

I absolutely LOVE this place! My nerdy little heart was all aflutter when I saw the vintage gaming systems (SEGA SATURN!!!!!), but then I saw the old toys (NINJA TURTLES!!!!) and comics (HEAVY METAL!!!!!)! I thought this was just a record store, but they have WAAAAAY more than that!

POPS is awesome. Its amazing for vintage clothes, old school video games, and records. Lots and lots of records. If you are looking for any of those things, you are in luck. Also, POPS has plenty of concerts each month, so be sure to check them out.

Trashy staff, doesnt acknowledge customers, and WAY overpriced junk marketed as "vintage" and "collectible." One female employee referred to a customer who had just left as an "old mother*****r." You can shop here but dont say you werent warned.

Huge selection of vinyl! I was worried this store would only have a few racks of used records. But once inside, this shop seemed like an endless maze of used goodness.

Fun place and Dan is a stand up guy to do business with. Also has always supported myself and many other local musicians through the years. Great shop!

Not in the greatest area, but a good selection of new and used vinyl as well as stereo equipment and seemingly random old collectables
