My experience took place on Thursday December 19th, 2013; was the worst experience ever I took laundered clothes and Coach purses that were in excellent condition . Waiting time frame was 45 mins to 1 hour. So, I shopped around went to have lunch to come back and they only bought a sweater for $3.00 , now, from my understanding Clothes Mentor takes name brand things like Coach purses and such. In which before I left I had over heard a girl tell an older lady that we take all coach purses no matted what. So, then what was the problem. So, I kindly asked the girl Daphne (120193) Why ! werent my Coach purses taken she replied well, we couldnt find the id code on the purses.. WHAT !!! are you kidding me . The other girls like Kari (120165) & other girls that worked that day were so rude they had no smiles didnt welcome me into the store , one girl who was pregnant just told me are you bringing clothes in just stand in line there. OMG !!!! really I thought to myself . I have been in there numerous times to take clothes to sell & really, honestly nothing has change. I dont know about that store. I am really starting to think they are VERY RACIST> will NEVER SHOP THERE AGAIN.... Clothes Mentor @ 2220 Nicholasville Road

I went to Clothes Mentor on Saturday, February 6, 2016. I had a $300 Michael Kors purse, and five tops to sell. Three of the tops had never been worn and newly purchased. The brands consisted of Free People, INC., Jones New York, and Daniel Raines. I was embarrassed and offended. The sales clerk said my authentic Michael Kors purse, which I had the tags where Id purchased it from Nordstrom, showed some signs it could be a fake!! I advised her I never purchased fakes. She said she was just unsure, so she couldnt accept it. Well it seems she needs to know the product a little better. Then, she only offered me only $16.00 for all the tops, which was ridiculously low offer, or $20 store credit, which was stil not a fair sale. I took my items back and left the store and dont plan on ever going back. Theyre not offering fair market value for clothing, they are there to offer quick cash with low ball offers, which allows only them to make the money. I dont recommend seling to this store. I will go to Stephen Lawrence, they are much more fair with their customers. And Ive NEVER been accused of selling a fake! I dont buy fakes! Thank you.

Do not waste your time trying to sell your items here. I took in three purses today all the same brand. The original costs for the three of them were 75.00 (on sale at Dillards), 250.00, and 500.00. They did not even look at the serial numbers to determine the collection they belonged to and then offered me 30.00 below what the computer recommended. The lady offered me 20.00 each across the board, even though the value of each of them fluctuated heavily. All had equal wear, and are still presentable. I listened to the lady work with another seller and told her the clothes were out of date as well (similar to the post below). All of the purses I offered to sale are still on the market. I am confident they are at least worth 25% of the face value. You are better off selling them on your own or somewhere else. I am not upset over a low value for the purses, just the ladys inability to recognize that a brand may produce more than one level of quality. She just offers based on the name, not on the collection. They need to be more educated in the quality of items.

I was in the shop a few weeks back to sell some clothes, shoes, and accessories and decided to look around while I waited for my buy. This is what I observed: 1. I wasnt even acknowledged for at least 5-7 minutes while standing at the counter to get my buy checked in. No one made eye contact or mentioned that someone would be with me shortly. It felt like I was a burden to all 5 or so employees behind the counter. 2. I dont know what they base their buys on, but there were a lot of duplicate items in the same size/color etc. and outdated items as well. There was a J. Crew Tartan jacket there from 2005 (the date is always on the tag on inside seam). 3. The overall customer service is dreadful. Anytime I have gone back to pick up items that they were not interested in (totally fine), they always give attitude about it. Like, I get it, I dont want these in my closet anymore either but, damn, whats with the attitude??? You are a used clothing store in a strip mall, lets please refrain from getting an attitude.

I brought in a whole bunch of clothes from The Limited and Express, plus shoes from Aldo and Patagonia shirts that still had tags. I understand they didnt want my American Eagle clothes, and thats fine, but the girl told me that none of the things I brought were things they could sell because they "werent in style." So after leaving me waiting for two hours while they chatted and slowly looked through things, I am told that they didnt want things they were already selling in their store. Portofino shirts from Express arent in style? Wow, they should probably tell the people at Express that! On top of that, when I got home and looked at the box Id brought in, they hadnt even looked through it. Everything was still perfectly folded in the exact order I had put it in. After waiting two hours, they were close to their 6pm cutoff, and they didnt even bother to look, just said they didnt want any of it. I guess I will take my business elsewhere if they are going to have such horrible customer service.

I have sold to Clothes Mentor on Nicholsaville Road, Lexington, KY, however it depends on which "young" sale clerk takes you. Today as before I had a lot of nice used items, coats, shoes and a NEW sweater. The clerk with the blond hair stated she COULD NOT take anything because it was something they COULDNT use. I had did a walk through while waiting and saw items similar to the items I was trying to sale. However the sales clerk brought nothing!!!! Previously I took some new suits I had brought at Burlington, that sales clerk (young) said they did not buy anything that had "shoulder pads"???? Once I took items that were my 22 year old daughters, and I was told they were too "dated". Interesting because we had brought several of the items from Clothes Mentor. I recommend anyone who is trying to sell their items, to have a yard sell from their home. Clothes Mentor is a joke!!! I am also filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.

I came in to the store to sell a bag of my used clothing. I forgot my lisence (my fault) so I drove home which was like 45 minutes. I come back and wait in line for 30 minutes and it wasnt even busy. When I was explaining how I wanted my payment to the cashier, a girl behind the counter said "Im not checking their clothes" for absolutely no reason. Despite the rudeness which I should have complained about, I decided to continue with my sale. After waiting 55 minutes for one Kroger bag full of clothes they tell me that they dont except my brands and to go platos closet which their buying hours were already closed. No one informed me that they only except certain brands. The one shirt they said they could buy had a tiny yellow stain so they wouldnt take it, but Im The 55 minutes I was walking around the store, I saw two shirts with a blood stain and coffee stain. dont waste your time America.
