Last night, I had the pleasure of getting my first new tattoo in twenty years; I’m thrilled I did my research and found Nikki Eveland at Bleed Blue. Tattoos are something that should reflect a tier one quality, and I didn’t like most of what I was seeing locally. Owning a tattoo gun doesn’t necessarily make you an artist, just capable of making a permanent and terrible mistake. Googling just isn’t enough, so I started asking people with killer pieces where they were tattooed, and more than a few stated “Bleed Blue”. I checked out their visually appealing website and noticed Nicole “Nikki” Eveland right away. That’s not to say there are any sub-standard artists here, I just vibed with her work the best. Excited, I set my appointment with Jordan, who was comprehensive and professional on the phone. Working at a tattoo studio isn’t what it used to be, and while it doesn’t offend me to hear f-bombs during the booking process, studios definitely set themselves apart by being courteous and respectful in the preliminary rounds. The appointment was easy to set and gave me a better understanding of what to expect from the experience. A week later I received my new tattoo from Nikki and it couldn’t be better. The tattoo is an early wedding gift to my fiancé and it’s filled with symbolic meaning, even down to the ritual of being inked. Nikki listened to me, gave her own input, and the end result is better than I even hoped. My fiancé loves it and now she wants Nikki to do her next piece. I admit I’m re-addicted to the rush and anticipation that comes from it all and won’t wait another twenty years. Bleed Blue is a professional standard for the city of Lexington and the Bluegrass. The studio is in the heart of campus, easy to get to, mixes the classic tattoo experience with new school meets old influence, and deserves all the awesome word of mouth it receives. If you’re looking for a new piece, you’re home – this is the place to choose. Five stars and then some!

I use to love this place until I went in last week and was trying to simply buy a industrial bar that was a bigger size then the one I had in. My industrial is gagged at a 14g.. And I originally had that size in, 1 day prior to going to bleed blue I washed it in the washing machine and it was gone forever, so I went to another tattoo place closer to my house to get a replacement just for the night. This Industrail that the other tattoo place game me was a little smaller than a 14g, but I was like " oh well its just for a night". Ive had my industrial for 3 years now and there is no way it would close up or shrink over night. But the peircer I talked to at bleed blue tried to convince me that I wouldnt be able to get a 14 g back in even though it had just been a night, and she was extremely snobby, didnt smile once or talk to me in a nice way. She tried to get me to not buy the industrial claiming " it will be a lot of pain trying to put it in" to which I replied " I know my piercing and I know it wont be painful because I havent left it out enough time for it to shrink".. so I ended up just letting her win the argument and said " I dont care if it hurts I really just want my industrial bar please". She goes and gets it and rudely checks me out as if it kills her that Im going against what she is saying even though she is wrong. The second I got in my car I slid my new industrial bar in with ease and no pain ( it hadnt been left out enough time for it to shrink just like I told her). I left fusterated and upset. And then I realized she gave me a bar that was a little too long, she didnt even measure my ear or try to get the right length bar. Im very upset, expecially since the time before when I went to bleed blue everyone was nice and I got the right size and length industrial bar.

Ive gotten a tattoo at another shop, it was terrible. The most painful experience for a tattoo. It was not put on straight or blended. I came to Bleed Blue to get a tattoo on my foot. I messaged Nikki Eveland and she emailed me back super quick. I set up an appointment with her. I was super nervous because of my prior experience, but she was super nice. It didnt hurt at all. Plus her work is amazing. She has given me three new tattoos, one on my inner ankle, one on my foot, and one on my upper shoulder and completely redid the tattoo I received from the other shop. I get compliments all the time on my tattoos. Ive scheduled a new appointment for a orginal artwork by Nikki. Im super excited for it. Bleed Blue tattoo is the best, they are friendly, clean, and are willing to help. I will frequent them and continue to get artwork by Nikki, I wont go anyplace else.

I went to get a septum piercing here not too long ago, and I was nervous of course. Not extremely nervous or anything, just a little squirmy. My piercer, however, made me feel very at ease. He was very talkative and joked with me through the whole process. Not to mention he was incredibly quick with his procedure. There was no excess or lingering pain and it was all done in a minute or so! My nose also has a crooked bone in it, so Im very happy with how the piercing came out despite that. Afterwards he gave me a card with how to care for my piercing and wrote his name down so if I had any questions I could contact him any time on Facebook. I did a couple days later with a couple questions, and he was very professional and helpful. : )

After reading multiple Google and Yelp reviews, I decided that Bleed Blue was the place for me. After looking through the portfolios (during a visit to the shop), I decided that Jamies work matched exactly what I was looking for. I scheduled an appointment with her for a couple of weeks later, and needless to say, Ive been back a few more times since then. Each experience is great, everyone is so friendly, the shop is very clean, and Jamie is an incredible artist! If youre looking for your 1st tattoo or your 50th, Bleed Blue is the place to go. The work that Ive seen the other artists doing while Ive been there has been amazing also. I got lucky because I found my favorite on the first try! :)

Liked this place a lot. I went there and got my third tattoo from three different shops in three different states lol. Definitely my favorite. Took my wife here to get her a tattoo for Christmas. Everyone was polite and helpful. Gave me a military discount which is always welcomed. The guy who did my wifes tattoo was really respectful not to mention very talented. I got mine from Kevin Hamilton, after I showed him what I wanted he was so excited to do it I couldnt say no. If anyone is unsure Ill say this. I live in Virginia Beach so its a 9 hour trip to Lexington and Ill be making the trip in the next couple of months just to get a tattoo here.
