Disappointed...thats the best word to describe my experience. I travel frequently and Im in the Topeka for several months working and visited this HyVee for the first time as I typically have good experiences at other HyVees throughout the Midwest. I visited this store on a Monday afternoon around 5:30pm and the majority of the food in the hot case for Chinese and the Deli were dried out and appeared to be sitting for a while. I typically base my judgement of the store on these two areas because I figure if they cant keep these highly perishable areas up to reasonable standards then I dont want to see behind the doors where the rest of the food is located. I decided to try the Chinese food against my better judgement because I was hungry and just wanted to get home and eat. I selected the 2 best looking entrees and then an egg roll and crab rangoon. Both entrees were dried out (even though they spooned extra sauce over the top). The meat was more like jerky and the veggies were mushy and it wasnt really warm when I went to eat it. The egg roll and rangoon were rubbery and coated with oil from being fried. The only good part of this meal was the white rice. Can anyone tell me why they dont have fresh food out for the dinner hour and why it all looks like it was cooked at noon? Clearly those department managers and store managers dont have the highest of standards.

I love going to Hy-Vee. The store is always clean and well stocked, and the staff is helpful and friendly. I save a lot more money on my gas ($0.45 a gallon last time) with the fuel saver program than I do at Dillons, and I like a lot of the Hy-Vee brand products a lot more than other grocery store brands. Some things at Hy-Vee are more expensive, but other times they have way better sales and markdowns, so it just depends on what youre buying. Overall, the service is just so much better that I dont care if something is more expensive, and Im a broke graduate student. Its worth it to be in a store with polite people and happy workers.

Clean store, prices are OK, however the food court was terrible today. Ordered pizza..It was stale and cold...Tried to get a glass of green tea, it was empty....Tried to get a glass of black tea, it was empty. Told the.gorl at the counter a d she said "okay" and went back to what she was doing....No offer to get us fresh pizza, no attempt to fill the tea...Nothing! Very disappointed.

Friendly employees. I recently spoke to a manager about low sodium, store brand soups not offered in their store, but offered at other Hy-Vee stores Ive visited. He said hed look into getting more variety on their shelves, too. Its been several months and all they have is low sodium broth and chicken noodle. Disappointing.

Its a nice store, however their bread and a few other perishable items always have short expiration dates and short stock. We do enjoy eating in their cafeteria area and food classes etc they put on. Have good choice of meats. However there is a lot of items that you buy that are 2 to 5 days from use by date.

Great selection of not only groceries but fresh made food such as amazing doughnuts, pizza, and the sushi there isnt half bad. The only problem can be the consistently low number of check out lanes available and no option for self check out. Other than that its my favorite place to shop.

I use the online shopping and love it! Large selection available, quick service that is always with a smile - even in the coldest or wettest weather. Ive used this service for over a year and only twice has there been a order not correct. One phone call is all it took to make it right.

Best Grocery store in Top City, its clean, well stocked, and the employees are super friendly! The food is always fresh and they provide even local farmers food..I cant say enough good things about this store. Unlike the other grocer chains around town..this one just gets it right!

Staff is very friendly, it will be the other customers you loathe. I feel bad for anybody who has to spend more than 25 minutes in that place. Food is too expensive, but I guess it "is owned by the employees" so its justified. Good selection, however its bakery is a complete joke.

Maybe its because I live on the opposite side of town, but this place seems to be a little higher priced than my neighborhood Dillons. The selection isnt much different, although there are some products in the produce section that arent offered at Dillons.

I was looking for a product and the manager said they didnt stock it at their location. He got my number, however, and after calling other Hy-Vee stores in the area called me back to let me know where to find it. Excellent service!

Dont go to hy-vee very often, none around me, it has been a few years. This one was fantastic. They have plenty of staff to help. It was a little busy, but they were finding time to stock shelves

They have good produce and meets. I love that they have a fruit basket for the kids to have a free fruit when people are shopping. We havent used it yet, but as a mom its nice to have a team that is so thoughtful.

Theres a great selection and the produce is always fresh. The only downside is that with their rewards card you can only earn points when buying certain items that change each week.

I always go to Hy-Vee when I cant find something at another store they are sure to have it. The only store that carries some of my must haves. Also have always had friendly service.

Not the best prices for anything really, go here for the great staff I guess, and if youve tacked up enough rewards to use the gas card. BTW I think Murphys takes the card too.

Good selection, a bit more pricy than other stores and only one Hy-Vee in town so living on the other side of town does not make it to convenient. Friendly staff.

Great store, good food. Produce usually fresh dependent upon the season. Meat choices are about average with a nice selection of fish. Prices are comparable.
