I have been there a number of times in the past to see if I could get something listed in one of their "Big Book" catalogs and, though they are supposed to have the same prices in store that they have in the catalogs and newspaper circulars, the prices in this store are always considerably higher. Thus, the only times I go there now are when I have an immediate need, such as a requirement for a special color of paper for a print job. Other than that, I use another vendor. Oh, and something else that I should say is that the store manager says that the catalog prices are only for those who order by telephone or online but if that is the case, then why am I able to go to the stores in either Topeka or Kansas City and find the prices in the catalogs match what is on their shelves? The Lawrence store is just trying to gouge because there is very little competition in town: M&M Office Supply downtown, while a good store with friendly people, has much higher prices as their primary business is not the retail side. Strong Office Supply went by the wayside long ago. Kaw Valley Office Supply was a short-lived "experiment." OfficeMax (formerly BizMart) has never ventured into town. So, Office Depot has the unwary local shoppers well in hand. Take my advice: shop in Topeka or Kansas City and avoid the local store.

Stopped into the store around 4 PM. None of the employees acknowledged my wandering presence. When I gave up and couldnt find what I was looking for on my own I went up to one of the chit-chatting employees for help. They were none. The product I was looking for was available online, but not in the store. They told me to go to Best Buy. Best Buy is almost just as bad. Lawrence it just isnt worth going to either electronic store. Theyre both grossly overpriced. You will save a LOT of money just ordering online. I needed a SATA cable for my computer. Best Buy has it for $20, Office Depot has it for $6 online but not in the store, and Tiger Direct has it for $2. Somehow Office Depot manages to be worse than Best Buy. My friend bought a 1.5 Terabyte harddrive for $147 at Best Buy, saw the exact same drive at Office Depot for $250! Shop smart, make sure you are get the absolute best deal before you give your money to either two stores. Wish there was a local computer place in town.

I have been to this office depot on three separate occasions, two different times I went to the store about 15 to 20 minutes before they are supposed to close, and they already had the cage on the door locked up, and the one time I actually got in, it was 30 minutes until closing time and I showed up as they were closing the front gate, so they let me in. But for the few minutes I was there, they were shutting off the lights while I was shopping and very obviously trying to rush me out the door and had to unlock the door to let me out... and I was in there for 5 minutes max. Quite annoying to drive across town just to find that they decide to close 30 minutes early!

In response to many of the claims below, Office Depot price matches any in-store product, as long as it is the same and you have proof of the price. It also price matches any of its online prices, as long as it is sold in-stores. Young employees seem competent and eager to help, while the older managers seem to always be grumpy, probably from years working in retail. Technology department is also very helpful and knowledgeable. Seems most customers dont understand that policies and prices are set by corporate big-shots, and have nothing to do with the actual employees that work there. Instead of taking anger out on the store associates, complain to corporate.

An "Office" store that doesnt even have DVDs! Thats right. All I wanted was a spindle of DVD DLs and all they had was ONE pre-packaged (DVD & plastic case) set of 8 DVD DLs for $13.00. Thats it! They werent just out of stock there wasnt even a place for them on the shelf. SERIOUSLY?!! The standard hard drive on a new PC is 500 GB. Where do you think all this data is being backed up to Office Depot?

Just awful, prepare to be interrupted a lot when explaining things. Also the copy center is a joke. Had to listen to 2 employees complain about a 3rd employees constant texting. The dark haired girl there ia clueless and is constantly getting personal phone calls which she answers Hey Girlfriend! While you are trying to explain something. Its a poorly run store. Ill stick with staples.

This is why I gave it 5 stars. I have been looking for a camera that shoots hd for quite awhile and Tommy in the camera dept HELPED ME! He answered all of my questions and knew what he was talking about. I had been at best buy a few days before and the guys answer to all of my questions was "i dont know...um, I dont know". I was happy to have Tommmy there!

This is a good store for copy and print solutions, but the prices on their technology items and regular office supplies are pretty outrageous. Unfortunately most often youre looking for something that usually you could find on Amazon or elsewhere for significantly cheaper.

Dont shop here. Its a waste of time and the customer service is highly lacking. The associates dont care about the customers. Ive shopped here a total of three times in a period of the last two years and each time, left angry.

No stars. It was made clear to me that the customer doesnt count at this company. They are about the sale, then you are on your own. Dont patronize this establishment. Id give them "no stars" if it was possible.

A really good Office Supply store, but I love this place because of their printing capabilities . . . Ive been able to get full color posters printed, same-day, for exceptional rates and with exceptional quality.
