One of the best experiences I have ever had purchasing athletic shoes. Walking in I wasnt 100% sure I was going to purchase running shoes that day, but after the most enthusiastic greeting and thorough analysis of which running shoes would best suit my feet by one of the best sales woman... how could I say no! The shoes (and inserts) were perfect for my feet and felt great the two weeks I had them, but they soon started to show a hole in part of the fabric. I took them into Fleet Feet Sports one morning ... and the next thing I knew I was placed into a new pair of shoes (that felt just as good ... if not BETTER) ... and sent out the door with a guarantee of "if you dont like these shoes, come back in and well get you a different pair!" Thank you Fleet Feet for making my experience extraordinary and making sure I was comfortable in my own shoes! ;-) Im ready to tackle that half-marathon feet first because of you and your wonderful, caring staff!

My wife and I have been frequenting the store fairly regularly all summer as we are both training for races, and Ive deliberately held off reviewing until now. I cant say enough about the staff - these guys and gals are amazing. Their attitude, knowledge and support is always refreshing. Weve spoken with at least 8 different people there at various times, and all have been extremely friendly and helpful. You just dont get that very often in retail. As far as products, they have just about everything I have needed and we have been very satisfied with the quality of goods they sell. Then, they have gone above and beyond my expectations to be sure we were happy with every purchase after the sale. Ive found the pricing to be very competitive after doing some spot checks post-purchase. Why after? Because when you have a place you just enjoy shopping at there is only one way to ensure you can continue doing so - give them your business.

Recently purchased running shoes from this location. At my initial stop in the store, Julie assisted me in finding just the right shoe in terms of comfort and use. She patiently showed me many different options and explained the differences. In the end I picked a shoe, but they didnt have it in stock in the color that I wanted, so we did a special order. Once the order arrived, I went to pick it up only to discover there had been a mix up and the wrong color had been ordered. Julie and the entire staff that day were very apologetic, reordered the correct color, and offered to help make arrangements for getting the shoe to me. A few days later, the correct shoes arrived, I picked them up ,and they even gave me a discount because of the confusion and extra trip to the store. Everyone was so helpful and sincerely apologetic about the inconvenience. I would definitely recommend this shoe store to anyone!

I met Andy the owner when I walked in the store. Very friendly and knowledgeable and there was absolutely no pressure from Andy for me to make a purchase. A very comfortable, customer friendly environment. I had not purchased tennis shoes in probably 10 years. Andy walked me thru the fitting process. He asked me several questions, watched as I walked bare foot across the floor, more questions and then he recommended a few brands that matched what I needed. Good luck getting this professional fitting service at a mall. My new tennis shoes fit and feel great and I am very satisfied with the whole process Andy walked me thru. I might even wear them on the golf course!! Highly recommend Andy and Fleet Feet Sports. Plus they give you free stuff at checkout!!

Great experience at Fleet Feet Sports in Des Moines. I recently developed posterior tibial tendinitis in both of my ankles. I was miserable in my Asics 2000 GT. Fleet Feet sports provides water along the MLK Trail which is how I found out bout the store. Everyone at Fleet greeted me and helped me find a shoe to help. They spent an hour with me measuring and analyzing my gate and listening to my concerns. They even let me try the shoes on outside so I could get a real feel for them. I told them I like a low heel to toe drop, need something for pronation and need lots of cushioning. They had two shoe recommendations and I liked them both. Im very glad I visited this store and will continue to shop here for future needs!

I was having trouble with my old running shoes and came in to Fleet Feet to get a new pair. When I entered the store (my first time going there) I was immediately greeted by a friendly employee who understood my problem and helped me try on a variety of shoes that might fix it. He was very knowledgeable and personable so the whole experience was great. I got to try out a bunch of different shoes and settled on the one that felt the best when trying it out at the store with the guarantee that if I went for my first run and found it painful I could return the shoes no problem. The store does sell things at MSRP but its worth it for the awesome customer service.

I love shopping at Fleet Feet. Andy (the owner) and his entire team at the Des Moines store are so passionate about what they do and taking care of their customers. They have built a wonderful community for anyone experienced or new to running. They have a great selection of shoes, but also running clothing, self-care and sports medicine tools, and more. As a sports massage therapist, I also refer many of my clients to Fleet Feet when they are in need of new shoes or proper fitting. They (my clients) always receive excellent care and really enjoy the experience that they have when shopping at Fleet Feet. I highly recommend them.

They are very helpful while you are in there, but it definitely comes at a premium. Bought a pair of running shoes just to find out about a week later that I could have bought the same shoes from another store in town or even the manufacturers website for about 40 dollars cheaper. Called the store and requested to speak to Andy to what he replied that he was too busy at the moment to take my call. Not looking for a refund nor anything free, but simply to let other shoppers know to do their research prior to going in there. Do your wallet and self a favor, would have given this place a no doubt 5 start rating if it wasnt for this.

I always leave Fleet Feet in Des Moines feeling like a valued customer and member of the running community! Coming from someone who hasnt always felt like a runner, this is a big deal. The staff at the store are always incredibly attentive and provide personalized service without being forceful about any of their products. Not only is this store fully equipped with high quality gear for an active lifestyle, they also promote healthy lifestyles and community building by always inviting customers to join in on the stores events. I can never recommend this store enough to my friends and family!

From the moment you walk into the store the friendly employees are very nice and eager to help you find whatever it is you need. Whether its shoes or clothing they ask questions to help you decide what will work best for you during your training runs. They are not satisfied until the customer is happy. The biggest deciding factor for me to keep coming back is how hard they work to get me what I need. Theyve special ordered bigger size shirts for me and also tracked down shoe reps to get in the exact special edition colors of shoes I was wanting! Kudos to Andy and his staff,Joe Kohls
