Ive had mixed experiences here. Sometimes the employees are crazy helpful and sometimes theyre incredibly rude. I like to think Im pretty easy going and laid back, I try to find things on my own before giving up and asking. I understand retail employees are underpaid and overworked... that being said if someone asks you politely where something is please never ever say "I dont know, ask someone else." then go back to what youre doing. But even with the few pepperings of bad experiences, Ive had good ones too. Awesome employees who dont just tell me where something is but show me and recommend a better product! Price wise its alright unless youre doing leatherworking, then its a bit overpriced (even when used as an emergency option!) their model paint is nicely priced though, and you can usually snag a sale in their framing department. So its not bad, its not great.

This Hobby Lobby is where we go for art supplies when we cant be bothered to drive over to Dick Blick in downtown Iowa City. The religious notes on the front door are a bit odd and remind me of Supreme Court cases when Id rather be thinking of crafts and fun. There is always a line at the one or two registers that are open and they manually input each item as if bar codes are too modern. If it werent so nearby Id probably avoid this place.

Hobby Lobby is a surprisingly fun place that was a lot different from what I expected based on the outside! My wife constructed a number of wreaths from the supplies here and successfully decorated our house for around $50. Additionally, she recently purchased some lovely trinkets for a decorative centerpiece that Ive been informed we need to have! Easy place to get in and out of that will impress you with their selection and quality.

I went up to the register, the lady was talking to the lady next to her, stopped and said hello, went back to finishing her story with the other cashier without saying one more thing to me. She then handed me my reciept without saying thank you or any acknowledgement. She has short blonde 80s hair with bangs and glasses. In her 50s.

Apparently you cannot use chalk markers on chalk boards which are displayed with the chalk boards. Then when you try to return the chalkboard that has been wrote on with the chalk marker they would not return it and said its my fault even though another employee recommended it. Not going back after I was made out to be an idiot!

This place always has some pretty awesome sales, which seems pretty good on the surface but it makes me really wonder what the app for price of everything is on a normal day. They got some really good quality art supplies a lot of crafting ideas and some pretty cool home decorations.

My favorite store hands down! Great decor pieces and always good sales and deals. You can definitely tell its a Christian run business as they are closed on Sunday and there are many Bible verse themed decor items. I always end up leaving with something when I go to Hobby Lobby!
