I have a Pomeranian/Yorkie mix that we rescued from a neighbor who was no longer caring for him. Charlie was very matted and underweight (just 2.8 lbs) when we got him. His teeth are all rotted, and he will require surgery to remove them all once he puts on some weight. I had taken him to another big-chain groomer here in Lafayette, and had a rough experience. They shaved Charlie, as I requested, because he was so extremely matted, but in the process they cut-off one of his rear dew claws. They took him to the emergency vet and got it all taken care of. Clearly, this was a fairly nerve-wracking experience for my family. This was the first thing wed done for Charlie, and he came out worse than when he went in. You can only imagine how frightening this was for Charlie! Fast-forward to about 6-weeks later, Charlies hair was starting to grow out pretty well and I decided that he needed groomed again. After calling around to some independent groomers, I elected to give Pet Supplies Plus Grooming a chance. I am so thankful that I did! Rosa Monterrosa took care of Charlie!! I spoke with Rosa at length about toy breeds. We have only ever owned big-dogs and little ones like Charlie are bring a very different experience. Rosa welcomed me to stay while she groomed Charlie, and let me know that she would only do as much as Charlie would let her because she wanted him to comfortable with the experience and grow to trust her. I told her that I would walk around the store so that my nervousness wouldnt interrupt. I watched from between the aisles, trying to be sure Charlie didnt see me and become more anxious. I was truly amazed at the patience and gentleness that Rosa showed with Charlie. She did a fantastic job! She is wonderful!! Charlie came out looking great. She was able to trim him so much better than his previous experience. I know that it is because Charlie could see that she really cared and was working with him, not on him. I am so grateful for the care and compassion Rosa showed!! I got one of her cards and told her that she had to keep her job for the next 6 or 7 years, until Charlie is no longer with us. Rosa is the only one I will trust with Charlie.

I wont go anywhere else after this store came to Lafayette. The best prices and selection, knowledgeable staff, and I can satisfy all of my pets needs here, from food and toys to grooming! If you decide to have your dog groomed here, make sure and ask for Rosa. She is amazing with my 2 schnauzers. One of my dogs was traumatized after a grooming catastrophe at another big chain groomer. He ended up at the emergency vet at OUR cost for a scratch to his eye from the steel brush they used. On top of that, the workers at this other big chain groomer did not dilute the whitening agent used during grooming. My poor dog not only had a severe scratch on his eye, but also a chemical burn IN THE SCRATCH. My dogs actually look forward to seeing Rosa at Pet Supplies Plus!! PLEASE dont forget to tip the groomers..... Just like any other haircut!

Do NOT take your dog here for grooming. The groomer is incompetent. They used to have a good groomer named Claudia but the current groomer doesnt know what she is doing. She wanted to shave our Pomeranian because of a few mats that took no time at all for us to comb out and was rude on top of it. Any fool knows you dont shave a double coat dog. Talking to the manager didnt have any effect, they didnt give a shit either. We used to shop here all the time but basically f this place. They dont have anything we cant get from Petsmart or from Chewy.com. Petsmart has competent groomers and even though they charge a little more at least they know what theyre doing.

There are so many great selections at this store!! The specialty dog treats are really great and they are always trying to help with animals who need homes. The self serve dog wash is awesome for my large dog when he needs a bath. When you have the Pet Club card, you can get a lot of good deals. There are also supplies for other animals that you may have as pets, not just cats and dogs. Next time you are looking for something specific, please check out Pet Supplies Plus!

I recently stopped into PSP on my way from visiting family in the area. I had my dogs with me and needed some on the go water bowels. Wow! I was shocked by what a great selection of product they have. My dogs had such a great time in this store, the employees stopped and played with both my dogs and were so caring and helpful it was fantastic. You could not ask for more in a pet store. I just love this place and will certainly be back again!

Employees here are always super nice and dont mind if you just wander around looking at animals. They also have great savings with their member card which is free. I buy a lot of cat litter and food here and it always ends up cheaper than even walmart. Tons of variety and great advice for taking care of pets.

The dog groomer is a joke. She claims she has 15 years experience. You cant tell it by looking at my dog. Missed some hair when cutting it and doesnt smell like shes had a bath. Very unfriendly and unprofessional. I will never go back. Very rude!!!!! #refund #iloveyoupetsmart

I used to shop at one in Indianapolis all the time, 14 years ago. Now I do a lot online, but this store has a huge variety of items. Plus the Wildcat Valley Animal Clinic does a vaccination clinic and/or arranges for special services for their clients. Super convenient!

Fantastic selection of products for all animals. We finally tried the dog washing station and it is great. The internal grooming staff isnt the most friendly, but all the other associates are beyond helpful and nice. Prices are competitive for the most part.

The staff is helpful and nice. I had a coupon for a food bag "size" they didnt carry. (They had the brand, but not the quantity the manufacturers coupon indicated .) The manager offered a fair compensation for an item they did have in stock.
