UPDATE: So I made my first payment and it was late by two days...mind you, i didnt receive the bill until the 5th and my payment is due on the 7th. I didnt have the same length of time that others have to make a payment. I also saw on my bill that I was signed up for insurance (listed as other debits) in case i loose my job or die...why would I sign up for that? really? I was unemployed when I signed up for the card and I got the card because I can handle the payments and when I die, Im pretty sure Im not going to be worrying about VCF. I think the salesman signed me up for it without me knowing because I told him that I was unemployed when I filed out the application. That insurance cost me $11.40 a month and the late fee was $26.00. They did waive the $26.00 late fee but they used my one time courtesy and I didnt agree with that because they sent my bill to the wrong address and I didnt have a bill so I didnt have the account number to sign up online to make a payment and when I went to the store to make a payment the lady only accepted cash or check and I only use my debit card. I had to speak with a manager from the finance department on the phone for them to take off the late fee without using my courtesy. The manager told me that I will have to mail in the envelope (that had my first months bill in it) because it has the "change of address" slip on it and that will prove that I didnt get the bill in enough notice. The only reason I made a big deal about the courtesy is because VCF seems really raggedy to me: They put in an old address though that is not the address I wrote on my application and they were going to charge a late fee though I hadnt received my bill in enough notice. They charge $15 just to make a payment over the phone. I was signed up for insurance (that I cant get back) every month in case I die or I loose my job and I was signed up unknowingly for this insurance. I understand that it was a courtesy to waive the late fee but this is a courtesy that every customer gets, Im not special. So instead of using the one-time courtesy because the VCF store on 82nd street made an error, I feel that the this fee should be given to the store because they dropped the ball. I want to be able to use the "courtesy" in case I may actually need it, not because the store entered in an old address when I clearly gave them my current address on the application. So, if you are going to get a charge card for value city WATCH OUT: make sure you get your account number so you can pay online for no additional fee...the store only takes cash or check for payment...make sure you are not signed up for any type of insurance you do not agree to...make sure the address you put on your application is the address they are going to send your bill to (they said they sent my bill to the address that my credit pulled though I did not put that address on my application).

I purchased the 2 piece LRS Mustang reclining loveseat and sofa on January 13, 2016 from the Value City on 5450 E. 82nd Street Indianapolis, Indiana. After having the furniture in my home, I found out that this set was not a good fit for me and my family. I went to value city on January 31st to speak with someone at Value City. I wanted to exchange the set for a leather set. From the moment I entered, the customer service was horrible. I went to the customer service desk and the attendant there tried to get a manager to work with me, but he flatly said that he is off the clock and that he was leaving. He refused to deal with me, zipped his coat up, and left. Next, the attendant went into the office with my receipt, and a bald headed manager (my guess, he did not introduce himself). He was rude. I told him that the vinyl couch was not working was of poor quality and that I wanted to exchange it for a leather set. He remarked that I was fortunate: the previous iteration of the set was discontinued. He then remarked that the leather set would cost much much more as if I would not be able to afford it. The bald headed manager replied, with a smirk, rude and extremely condescending. He said someone would have to come to my home to examine the furniture, as if I had somehow had managed to ruin the furniture in the span of two weeks. This manager was rude and dismissive. I was with my husband and child and both of them picked up on the disrespect. He could have gone over possible options with me, but he wouldnt even entertain the thought of speaking with me until someone came out to examine the furniture. As I was leaving I was trying to trouble shoot possible alternatives, about going to another store to buy something of better quality, and the attendant that I had dealt with said loudly well you shouldnt have come back here then. She was very loud and very rude. The whole thing was awful and disrespectful from start to finish. I had bought two furniture sets from Value City and thought that I would be treated well.

If I could give this place no stars I would! This is the WORST place to buy furniture!! We bought our first couch from them in January 2010 and we were pleased with the service, however 6 months after having the couch the cushions were starting to break down. Since we purchased the warranty, they came out and replaced the foam inside them. This occurred 5 different times and when it was very apparent that the cushions were always going to need new foam, I called the manager and after hours of debate, we were able to return the couch and purchase a new one. So the new one came and after owning it for 8 months, the back fabric ripped down the middle one day! Its just my husband and I at home and we both work full time, so our couches are gently used. I called and they said they would send a tech out to try and fix it. They fabric was so thin that the tech said if he tried to fix it, then the fabric would just tear somewhere else! By this time I was furious and called to speak with the manager and all I received was an "Im sorry but theres nothing we can do for you!" There was no way I was going to let this place get away with selling me a piece of junk! After many phone calls and calls to the corporate office they finally agreed to give me a partial refund of what I paid for the couch and pick it up. I decided to take that, but part of that deal was I had to purchase from them to get the refund since it was in-store credit. We picked out a new couch that seemed durable and the manager assured us that this couch had awesome ratings and only good reviews. Well as I type this, the couch is being torn apart by a tech to try and replace an ottoman cushion and a bad spring! This couch is just over a year old and I called to have a tech come out over 3 months ago because of the spring and the cushions going flat and they just now have the parts in to fix it! Im in shock at how badly we have been treated an the quality of products that VCF is able to sell! Buyer BEWARE!!
