I am giving this two stars, and that is only because the cafe mocha was really good. I bought a 16 oz cafe mocha, two gluten free donuts, and two regular donuts, for over $18. I tried to let the high price slide because it is a local business. I got the only two gluten free donuts they had left, which was one powdered and one cake with chocolate icing and shredded coconut on top. Both were flavorless, aside from tasting like raw canned pastry dough. Even with the chocolate icing one, I licked the icing and coconut straight and there was virtually no flavor. They were both very heavy, hard, and dense. I had my boyfriend try them, too. He is an award-winning pastry chef and teaches pastry at two local colleges, and he thought they were awful. Dancing Donut, you dont have to make gluten free and vegan this way! Connect with some other pastry chefs. You CAN get them light, fluffy, and flavorful. Maybe call up Donut Friend in LA for some tips? As far as my boyfriend, he got the Nutella stuffed donut and the Mayberry, which is raspberry filled with lemon zest sugar on the outside. He reported that it was very obvious that the raspberry filling was straight from a bag, and the lemon sugar was too light to balance the raspberry. The yeast donut of both donuts was "alright," and as for the Nutella, there was way too much filling to the point where he had to squeeze some out and discard it. It was a good move, however, that they blended the Nutella into what seemed to be buttercream icing. That was nice. The cafe mocha was the best part of the experience. The owners of The Dancing Donut are the same owners of The Flying Cupcake, which is also well-known in the pastry chef community for taking shortcuts on their products. Dancing Donut is no exception to that.

Been coming here since the very first day they opened. Always tasty doughnuts, good selection, great friendly staff, & happy customers. I come here sometimes just to get coffee, its really good. Not sure where people are getting rude/unjust treatment - like I said, I come here a lot & honestly, if I saw someone treated like that, I would never return. But thats the reviewers experience, & Im sorry to hear it. They seem to have 2-3 gluten free selections whenever Im there. Cant miss em, they are right up front on their own special display. Maybe you have to get there early? As to price - come on, we live in a large metropolitan area, & these arent grocery store doughnuts. I feel Im getting my moneys worth. Especially on the John & Jane Doe - theyre practically the size of my spare tire in my Corolla! Yum!

Hands down the best donut Ive ever eaten. Been to new york, chicago, san fran. Nothing compares to this place. I dont know what it is. Only negative i can say is; they are over priced. 3-5$for a donut is insane. On the other hand... Theyre the best Ive ever had!!! That being said I usually go to the donut place to buy for the family or work and unfortunately due to their pricing Im unable to share the experience with friends and family. It entered today around 10 a.m. and they were out of most of their selection (they sell out fast) also of the selection they did have I spent near $20 for six Donuts. So overall I would rate this 4-star Place simply because of their pricing. I feel if they came down maybe 10 to 25% on their pricing it would make for much more friendly work and family experience.

The Dancing Donut is a great respite from the mass produced, big box doughnut world. They have crazy, decadent doughnut options that are almost as fun to look at as they are to eat. Even the classic doughnut lineup looks better behind their glass. I have been here a few times, and the quality has been consistently high. Yes, they cost more than Krispy Kreme, Marsh or gas station doughnuts...but, they should cost more considering that they were made in small batches by a human that is usually standing 10 feet from the counter, covered in flower and tired from making doughnuts since 4:00 AM. For me, this is a great spot to snag a special treat and I will happily pay a little more for the increase in quality.

I wasnt impressed with the donuts. I got Kevin bacon, the pebbles and Nutella the hun. Kevin Bacon was good but just a basic long John style yeast donut with maple glaze and crispy bacon. I felt like it was nothing fancy or unique. The pebbles was a basic yeast donut with strawberry frosting with loads of fruity pebbles on top. Looked super cute but the cereal was stale. Then we get to the Nutella the hun. It was pretty big yeast donut filled with a whipped Nutella filling. There was soooo much filling in couldnt even eat it. For just 3 donuts my total was about $9. Not impressed at all. If Im spending almost $3 each on a donut they have got to be amazing. Im pretty dissatisfied. I probably wouldnt return.

I loved the space and feel of the place. It takes a minute to figure out whats going on. They have a board listing flavors, and a counter full of donuts, but they dont match. I was told they list daily flavors on Facebook so check that out. The donuts we had were somewhat dry and pretty sweet. The best was a simple yeast with chocolate ganache I found the folks behind the counter to be somewhat impatient so maybe they are used to regulars that understand that the menu board isnt exactly accurate depending on the day. Compared to General American Donut Company and Rocket 88 I would say this place is not as well developed on flavors nor balanced sweetness but still a good donut.

Completely impressed. The Brown Butter Donut is my favorite so far, with Nutella the Hun second. Only tried 4 so far. Their donuts seem to be a little more dense than generic, but they are less greasy and have a really nice flavor (personally I like them a little denser). I kinda gave up on donuts years ago, but Dancing Donut has opened my eyes to what a donut can be. I agree with others that $3 for a donut is expensive, so will reserve this vendor for special occasions. Sorry co-workers. I still wont reduce rating for price because they are fancy, creative, and seem to use premium ingredients (dont know for sure).

My family got vegan donuts for me for my birthday. They asked for two of each kind, and were only given two of one kind and 3 singles. Was almost $18! They were way too dense and pretty flavorless...I could barely eat half of one (I would have stopped after one bite but my family is sweet so I kept eating). I was also told the staff was not helpful. I should add we are not hard to please! And I was excited that a donut shop carried vegan donuts since Rocket 88 closed down. Vegans need donuts too!!

Not that great. Longs is better. Prefer white customers. Even the mixed chick behind the counter was an Uncle Tom. I asked what are the most popular donuts? She just smiled an said nothing. I got looks from white customers as if to say what are you doing here? She forgot my coffee to busy making eyes at the white man. Typical bedwench. First an last time there. Classic racist broad ripple behavior. Remember when the skinheads used to run out non white people I the 70s and 80s. Just classic.
