Just got ripped off. The purchase price (and only price) on the book was $7.99. I was charged $9.99. This is the third occurrence of a price discrepancy. When I questioned the amount, I was RUDELY informed that Books A Million can charge whatever they want to charge and the price on the book doesnt matter since their price is in the bar codes and I should know that. (Also, the price listed above the bar code was $7.99). Hmm...anyone carry a bar code scanner in their pocket, so they arent surprised at the cash register? When I called the phone # for customer support listed online, there was no option for complaints. I called their corporate headquarters in Alabama, and someone in their consumer division answered the phone. Im supposed to receive a call on Monday. I, also, discovered that this practice may fall under Indiana Deceptive Practices Act since the price marked on merchandise (unless it is a blatant mistake) is the price that must be charged. I hardly consider changing prices in a bar code on 3 different items and deceiving customers by exhibiting a false price a "blatant mistake". A complaint with the Indiana Attorney Generals Consumer Fraud Division will be on file Monday morning. Just my experience and opinion of the store and company.

The location is easily accessible from the West and North Side of Indianapolis. The atmosphere is nice. Helpful and friendly staff make for a pleasant environment. The cafe adds a great dimension to the store....

Staff wasnt very attentive and there were few customers. They have t-shirts, Disney & Funko collectibles and their staple of books. Overall a good location perhaps the staff was having an off day. (4.5)
