I should start by saying that Clay Terrace is a nice area and has a lot of nice stores. My poor opinion of it comes from the staff that work there. I cant tell you how many times security has stopped because I was standing at my car smoking or in the lot on my phone. It gets a little annoying when you get treated like a suspect when you are just standing around on your phone by your car. The icing on the cake was that this morning I was in the back of the lot smoking before going into one of the businesses there, I usually stay in the back of the lot as to not disturb anyone with my smoking, when a man in a red truck labeled "Clay Terrace" pulled up behind my car as I got into it. I was a little thrown off at first cause it was strange he was blocking me in. He rolled down his window and starting yelling at me about something. He was making a bunch of hand gesture and pointing to a spot in the mulch at the edge of the parking lot that looked like it had been burned. I gather from the few words I could understand that he was accusing me of causing the burn in the mulch, which obviously had been made days before that moment. After shaking my head at him he took off in his truck. Needles to say I reported him to Clay Terrace for being so rude and blocking me in like that. All in all. Its a good place, but the staff there are just rude.

Clay Terrace is an outdoor shopping center located in Carmel, IN. Clay Terrace was built as the Indpls area 2nd outdoor shopping center and was a joint venture between Lauth and Simon Property Group. The mall is laid out in a long straight line with a couple buildings sprawling out to the left and right around the center. Clay Terrace Blvd is a road used by everyone that connects Rangeline Rd and 146th St - and is controlled by the City of Carmel. This means there is quite a bit of traffic diving through the center. There is a good mix of shopping with your traditional retail stores (Old Navy, Sunglass Hut, Express) but they also have unique stores like Z Gallery and Orvis. There are also unique restaurants like Kona Grill and Mitchells Fish Market. I think the mall could use some updates as they have looked the same since they opened over 10 years ago to be able to complete with Hamilton Town Center and the newly renovated Fashion Mall.

Our first visit was kind of a bummer for me in one respect but overall for our party of eight it was great. Pizzas were well received by all and service was great for everyone but me. I ordered a sandwich but somewhere along the line my order was either forgotten about by the waiter or the kitchen staff and my sandwich did not arrive until our party was completely done eating. My meal was comped but it did not make up for the frustration. The sandwich was quite good but I gulped it down and suffered later. Overall the experience was good and we will make another trip to this place but if they screw up again they are done as far as I am concerned.

Love Clay Terrace... great stores, many are dog friendly (stop in Moochie Poochie for a list), clean and modern. Sit in front of the outdoor fireplace by Starbucks, enjoy a complimentary umbrella if its raining, and they host lots of community events like the Boo and Brew on Halloween and free sleigh rides December weekends. Parking can be tight at the store fronts but there is lots more behind the shops. There is also a dog park and play ground. The restaurants tend to really crowded on the weekends so plan advance if that is where you are headed.

Loved this place! Lots of free parking, good traffic flow, and easy walking. Pedestrians and drivers are very courteous to each other. Lots of nice stores in an open air concept. Several clothing stores, restaurants as well as a sporting goods and a gaming store....and there are other stores too. Easy access to/from highway 31. Really nice place and would come back here again!

Hectic traffic around packed roundabouts. Nice, but high-priced stores. An outdoor mall that you dont want to walk around any more than necessary. Being Carmel, this place, of course, looks nice and well-kept on the surface. However, while I want to support brick-and-mortar businesses everywhere, this place makes me want to shop online or in a traditional mall more than here.

More of an upmarket mall. Kona Grill has decent food that isnt too pricey. Revolution Eyes offers excellent service for eye doctor visits. The Dicks Sporting Goods store has a good selection of merchandise. Service, especially in the bicycle section, can be a little iffy (long wait times) but thats mostly due to how popular the store is.

Great place to visit! Missing a star because Simon Property Group will need to step-up the disgusting dog park. I drive by every day and it is a mud pit draining to the geese pond cesspool. Great place to shop, terrible place to bring a pet. Get a corporate sponsor to put some draining turf out there and protect our pets health!

When its pouring down rain (as it was on Sunday) or in the dead of winter, there are a lot more convenient & comfortable places to shop. I like walking, but hen the weather is bad I would not dream of shopping here - Id go to one of the many other options for "park once, then stay indoors" shopping centers in Indianapolis.

Love this shopping center. Nice mix of middle-market stores, boutiques and restaurants. Easy to walk around. Nice facilities and easy parking. Directional signage helps know where to go. The street running through is usually busy but crosswalks are plentiful and the drivers tend to be kind to pedestrians.

Lots of stores, easy to find parking, lots of places to eat or snack, bikes available to use to get faster from one store to the next, just put the bike in one of the many stands, parking lot has an area to charge e cars, unique stores, lots of outdoor seating available

A great outdoor mall for the north side. Plenty of good stores and restaurants in clay terrace. The grounds are always clean and trash is rarely found just laying around. Parking can be a bit hectic on busier days, but for the most part it isnt too bad.

Clay terrace is a nice little shopping center with some great places to relax, walk around, and shop. But there is not much selection to shop around, they need more selections that cover all ages. They even have a little park for kids and a dog park.

Upscale outdoor shopping plaza. Great for a day of shopping or having lunch. Some of the roads could use some work. The bricks and pavement are starting to break up. Otherwise, its a beautiful place to spend the day, along with some money.

I love the outdoor shopping mall experience. My way of shopping is to go into a store knowing what is needed and pick it and be on my way quickly. This setup helps me enjoy the brick & mortar method of gathering needed items
