DON’T EVER PAY IN CASH THERE. I went there on Monday May 17th, 2009 and the owner (the lady with ponytail & glasses) claimed that I shorted her $20 while paying cash one time. The last time I EVER paid cash was Thanksgiving of last year, other times I pay with my debit card. So I asked her when was that and she said THAT was the day, more than five and a half month ago. My husband and I remembered that day, I had $90 cash in my purse and our groceries bill was about $112. So I had my husband spot me $25, I counted the money and gave it to the cashier/owner. She recounted the money in front of us again and it was more than enough but the owner claim that she ran outside right away to get us because we shorted her $20. This week, when we were cashing out both her, the owner/cashier, and her brother ganged up on me saying that I should pay the $20, embarrassing me and my husband while holding up the groceries line. The brother backed her up saying, “she’s honest, good about this kind of thing” but I think what happened that day was that she counted her drawer, realized she was short $20, couldn’t figure out who or why so blame the most memorable customer, a dark-skin Asian with a non-Chinese name. I am truly hurt and upset. This is how they treat a regular who’s there every two weeks and all my bills there are in between $100 and $200+ each time. I’ve recommended this store to a lot of people but now I will stop doing an act of kindness towards them, they have no compassion. I gave them the $20 because I was more embarrassed of the drama unfolding than anything else but know this, karma will curse money gotten in an unjust way. Don’t go there, find a different Asian store.

I went to purchase grocery items that totaled just over $10 and went to use my MC. The cashier then told me that I had to spend a minimum of $20 to use any credit card there. Whole Grain displays the MC, VISA, and DISCOVER logos prominently in their store. Imposing a minimum, maximum or surcharge to use a CC is a blatant Merchant Violation and can get their merchant privileges revoked. I placed a complaint with both VISA and MC. I suggest you do the same to any store that imposes a minimum.

I tried to tolerate this only cashier with short hair. Shes very rude all the time. It appears shes the only cashier there. Im paying for my groceries there, so Im also paying for good customer service. If the owner is reading this, please take action. I went there today, and she yelled at her co-worker in front of the customers. I have been shopping there for a period of 10 years and Ive only seen her being nice about twice. Fire her or train her.

I used to go there when it was originally called Diho market for years when I was little. Since then, it has always felt vacant going inside. The store is hardly clean, with produce barely fresh and meat products, not worth buying. H Mart is a 20 minute drive from there if you want to hit up a better asian store.

Im the beginning when I first went there, it was lacking of customers, supplies, and staff, but as of tuesday this week it is slowly starting to look like a decent store, some of the food items have gone down in price and it looks more and more like a store. Good food, love the fresh fish and veggies.

Large Asian Market, found every ingredient Ive been looking for (and not finding at Whole Foods /others), and very helpful staff with excellent English. Fresh noodles (refrigerated) for Lo Mein, and house made Char Siu. Great prices.

Store seems like its closing, shelves are half empty, lights are dimmed, and very few employees are around. Go to H mart in Naperville instead.
