Fantastic Fresh Sushi @ a Budget Price!!! Local Japanese market with a small cafe in the back. Staff is extremely friendly and menu is fairly extensive. The bento boxes are a fantastic deal and run around 11 bucks. They also have Sushi "sets" which is a large roll with a choice of a side and miso soup for roughly 12 dollars ( I highly suggest the Godzilla with a side of gyoza and some extra Sriracha or buy a bottle of spicy mayo from the market and a 12 pack of Kirin Ichiban to wash it all down. Also they will customize rolls to the best of their abilities. Veggie rolls run around 4-5 dollars max. The miso soup is on point with a mild flavor of Dashi, tofu, and seaweed (I suggest a bit of Sriracha for some spice). The rolls are large and its hard to beat such fresh sushi at a very reasonable rate. I will definitely be back and theres a high probability of becoming a regular!!! FYI They have special rolls and consistently update their menus to add new rolls. There is a 25cent up-charge for carryout per roll which I think is extremely reasonable. Diego is typically at the front counter and he always very cheerful and a delight to work with.

I shopped at your store on December 26th 2016 and checked out at around 3:42 pm. The lady at the cashier was extremely rude to me, in fact, she is the rudest cashier I have ever met. I was surprised and disappointed because your store usually has nice staff. I had already checked out, but then saw a different brand of rice that I wanted to try, so I asked the cashier if I could exchange it for the rice I had already purchased. She sighed very loudly and made sure that I could hear her. There were no other customers at any of the cashiers, so I dont know what the big problem was. Then I realized that the rice I wanted to exchange was actually brown rice, so I said, " Im sorry, but I do not need to exchange this, I didnt realize that it was brown rice." She sighed loudly again and looked like she was having fun showing off her rudeness to her other collegues. It was obvious that she was trying to embarrass me and she succeeded. This was an unusually awful experience for me, especially in a Japanese store. In fact I have never before been treated this poorly in any store in general.

I come to tensuke all the time because I live locally. As much as I love the food, the service seems to dissapoint every time I come. Most recently I ordered the seafood soup and when I received it I noticed it was missing my favorite part, the crab. After I let the girl behind the counter know her response was "it doesnt come with crab." After ordering the soup many many times I had to correct her so she took my soup away and had me wait an additional 10 minutes before I got it back with crab in it. My advice would be to allow the customer to eat while you correct a mistake as it was a huge inconvenience on my time. Tensuke please stress service more as this is one incident of many and I really cant keep coming if thats how customers will be treated.

they dont care if people are allergic,I asked for any sushi with just fish because Im allergic to seafood except fish, this girl got me an option that came with shrimp and something else.she replace the shrimp for fish and charge me extra 2 dollars. i told them many times just fish. somehow they got surprised and ask me if Im allergic,I told them of course, if I eat shrimp I die. they took the shrimp out and replace it with fish and told me this fish just touch shrimp I told them like five times no,but she insist that shrimp just touched ,there were no managers,I got frustrated and took what they gave me and left. bad experience, really poor service and they dont take allergies seriously. at the end I throwed 16 dollars to the trash

We went for the annual blue fin tuna carving and it was incredible!! The tuna was so fresh and amazing. I was really impressed with the food and the store. It takes a lot for me to go to another Japanese market with Mitsuwa being just down the street. Tensuke manages to do just that. I might not go there for Ramen but I would definitely buy fish and sushi there. I really appreciate the fact that they will sashimi any piece of fish you buy there for free and then give you an ice pack to keep it cold when you check out. It was an all around great place. Ill definitely be back.

I LOVE this place! this is the BEST place to buy Sushi ! I always buy sushi and fish from them. They have all kinds of fish here and it is ALWAYS fresh! Maki rolls are my favorite. I always buy my sushi from them. Spicy tuna roll is my favorite and it is only $4.50? Not bad! They have their own private parking lot and it is huge! Beware, it gets busy during the lunch time, but it totally worth the wait! This is a small place, nothing fancy, but the Sushi here are the best! I like how they prepare their sushi. Very nice and very professional! Very good!!! Highly recommended!

Buying fish in the grocery store part is top flight - the freshest possible with an excellent selection in the mornings. They even have fish heads and bones for the real cooks who make their own stock. The restaurant gets 4 stars for a solid budget range menu and 3 stars for decor, but it is very clean. The best is to get your food to go and have a picnic by the elk across the street. The whole place is very welcoming and accessable, dont let being next to a bait shop upset you.

First, the sushi Café is the best Ive had this far from the ocean. It tastes so fresh! Head and shoulders above sushi station. The fish and meat selection is surprisingly diverse considering the size of the shop, and most items look like they havent been frozen (very important for flavor and texture if youre making your own sushi at home). As far as the dry goods go, they have a good selection, but its not mitsuwa. I highly recommend this place.

I was in town for the week and love trying out sushi places. I ordered online and picked up since I was staying just down the road. I ordered a few rolls, but the spicy tuna roll I ordered was missing and a plain salmon roll was in its place. I was a little bummed because I love spicy tuna and really missed it, especially since I paid more for spicy tuna. I would recommend but maybe just check before driving all the way home.

I bought lunch (saba - grilled mackarel) for my daughter and me. The fish was poorly cut so the bones were all over the place and I choked on one. The fish was older and a bit smelly. We both were ill afterwards. I used to go there often and try to support the smaller grocery store, but this was unacceptable. I even arranged for our organization to use them for an event in May (Kodomono hi). Never again.

Food court is simple and decent. The grocery store cashier was very unfriendly (or maybe she only Spanish) with no greeting or thank you what so ever. Might as well have an auto checkout lane. The difference from a few years ago is staggering. Japanese staff is almost non-existent and the quality of service definitely reflects it in every possible way!¡! Steep decline in service and customer care.
