WOW! I took my 90 year old father here today so he could pick out his grocery items. He carefully chooses his produce, looking it over before buying. He puts 3 or 4 different apples, all priced the same (he made sure of this) into one produce bag. Jump forward to us at register #10, where an elderly gentleman with the name tag Jim is the cashier. He proceeds to open the apple bag, entering each apple separately. I tell him they are all the same price, but he insists he must do this separately for inventory. REALLY? You count each and every apple? The best part is next. Jim proceeds to apparently practice his basketball dribbling skills by rolling each apple down the belt to the bagger. Yep, the apples that my 90 year old father took the time and patience to carefully choose are now getting all banged up bouncing down the cashier belt. This was extremely rude and uncalled for. Apparently, Jim was not happy with having to look at each apple individually, so he decided to get back at my 90 year old father by damaging the apples that he carefully picked out. I said under my breath, but loud enough to be hear "That was uncalled for". I proceeded to the service desk to report this, as dad took the cart out the door. After standing at the service desk for several minutes while the cashier chatted with a guest, I decided to leave and go help my dad. That is why I have decided to review this online. Very disrespectful of you, Jim. I hope you have a better day!

It is against our constitutional right to be afraid of our food in our grocery stores. The food in our grocery stores and the medicines we have taken are killing us and making us very sick. Why are we not out in the streets protesting the fact that a chemical is automatically integrated into the seeds of all our major industrial crops. We were never given the right to vote as the people of the United States on this decision yet it affects every single one of us who live in this country and beyond. It is our constitutional right to fight for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Why we all become such a bunch of pansies? Why are we not out in the street with signs? why are we not in front of Washington DC? I know why because were all sitting at home sick and suffering and afraid. Afraid of losing what we have and afraid of not getting what we want. Well it needs to stop or we all going to die and it will all be our own choice. Choosing to act out of fear rather than faith is a life lost to the dark side. Start demanding organic only for the people not for profit.

We love our local Jewel-Osco. The staff, both on the floor and at the registers, are very friendly. Though most of the cashiers are older in age(at least, during the hours we go shopping), I still leave feeling satisfied. Also, using the Mymixx app with Jewel Osco has not only helped me save money, with my weekly shopping, but time as well. Also, there is a free cookie and fruit program here, just speak to the customer service desk. :) something I wish they could work on? Communication in the deli area where hot food is prepared and distributed. Ive had small problems there in the past with new people and their knowledge of how/what to pack for advertised family meals.

I think the review of Duane is disgusting, mean and uncalled for. That man is nothing but kind. He does the best he can so to the person that posted that horrible review maybe you should shop somewhere else. Duane I love going into your lane, you are always welcoming and smiling. There are plenty of other cashiers who dont even give you the time of day when checking out, if fact I had one the other day who had a conversation with another employee while she was checking me out...I think that was rude. Come on people cant we be nice?

They never have enough cashiers so the lines are super long, no matter the time of day. The produce quality has sharply declined in the past year and the prices have remained consistently high. One example, English seedless cucumbers are more than twice as expensive at Jewel compared to other stores in the area. They rearranged everything yet again, so you cant find anything. I continue to go there because it is convenient. That is the only reason. Service and quality are just not found at this store.

I came here to sample products for the store. I needed help looking for the product I had to sample, so I asked the employees for help and they werent able to help, so they sent me to the back to look for the store managers. I found them and I asked for the product. They gave me attitude and were being rude. They told me the product wasnt in the back to look in the aisles but I had already been looking for the product for over 30 minutes. They said they didnt know and that it wasnt in the back.

Out of the same pet fresh food for over 2 months, and the floor mgr. Treated me with such disregard, and disrespect. After John the store manager got involved, it took 2 months, to finally get it. Yet the mgr. at Marianos, sent a free bag over, (had his employee drive it to me,for free, and since Im disabled, he felt bad I chased this food around for over 2 months. For a long time I wasnt going to Jewel ( last time I went was in 2009) due to their pricier items and you have to have that memebership card to get discounts!! So one day It was the closest store I can drop by for a errand and I got hooked up again to shop at Jewel ( if not I go to Marianos or Shop and Save) . Great sales and great sales personnel, they are mostly older and very friendly especially cashiers

Your typical jewel, a huge variety of groceries, fresh produce, everything is always in stock. I feel this is is the second busiest in the area and I can usually get in and out of the one in Clarendon hills quicker. However the attached UPS, dry cleaner, and Starbucks can make this one more convenient if any of those are on your list.

Love this store the employees are great and friendly , they always great me name both I and my son . the prices can be a little high but grocery prices can vary . the pharmacy staff is the best in town , I have never had a bad experience with them at all . highly recommended .

Used to shop here regularly but they moved things around and no one seems to know where things are. Asked for a product and was told if its not on the shelves, they dont carry it any longer. Customer service is very poor.

Oh, heavens, the memories. I spent so many of my formative years going to the supermarket with my family. Jewel-Osco is a part of my childhood memories. Not bad, for a supermarket. Large and abundant.
