I wanted to write this review because of a few people who helped me and my cat Oliver. I have been a cat person most of my life. I got Oliver as a Kitten. He was only being fed Purina Kitten Chow. Hes 8 months now and I wanted to give him something more nutritious. I have stepped into this PETCO store numerous times asking questions and doing research on the computer. I was sure the employees were sick of me not buying anything and asking so many questions, but they most definitely were not. I talked to numerous representatives about food since I wanted to do the best I could for me and my buddy Oliver. I finally decided on Blue Buffalo with the help of this store. Its been a few months now and I know I made the right choice. Hes getting real protein and his coat has become a lot softer. I used to travel all over the nation for work not to mention spending time in cubicles or behind desks. I wasnt happy. I have been an aquarist by hobby for some time now. Today, Im a brand new employee to this store as an Aquatics Specialist. I decided to leave the office world in pursuit of something I love and Im only hoping I can do as good of a job as the employees at this store have been doing for years. The show ATM and my passion for aquatics is what brought me to PETCO as an employee. It was the help of the people working here long before I was an employee 1.5 weeks ago that made me a consumer. Thank you, PETCO. By the way, I asked PETCO Corporate for permission to write this review and they allowed me to do so without any notation or approval. I would like to ask of anyone reading this review to take this from a consumers perspective, because I am one and have only been an employee for a week and a half. The employees at this store are trying their very best to make sure you and your pet come first with success. Pets really do come first with this company.

Aweful never buy an animal from them! They never clean their cages correctly keep the humidity and temperatures Completely wrong and off. Ive been a whites tree frog breeder for a number of years and the trany there told me their frogs should be fine in 30% humidity! I feel so bad for all the animals in there! The crickets are all sickly and no one has and knowledge above a third grade level! DO NOT SUPPORT THIS STORE!

I called a few minutes before 7pm, closing time on Sunday. I needed 5 small crickets for our lizard. I asked the sales associate if she could bag the crickets, I would be there in 2 minutes. She stated the registers close automatically at 7pm. I know she was lying. You have to count down the drawer to close a register out. Such poor service.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!My family members bird bit them and when it bit them its beak cracked they asked Petco if they could help and they said yes but once they help they are going to take the bird and sell it again yes thats what they said!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!if the wound in not treated there can be a infection and the bird can die

They always have what I need for my dogs and cats not to mention they are all very aware of the product they sell. My pets have all different issues and they were able to help me with what was best for them. They are so much healthier and no more problems! Thanks to the staff that helped me!

If I could I would give them a zero. They told me that the fish I was getting (Chinese algae eater) was totally ok with goldfish and he ate my goldfish alive and wont give me a refund or anything . It turns out they are one of the most aggressive fish out there .

SMELLS!!!! This store smells so bad, and is dirty! The employees are overbearing, trying to get me to buy things I specifically said I dont want or need. Only reason I am giving this two stars is because I found a leash here that I love!

Be prepare when coming to this store. Their knowledge on items poor as hell, their customer service worst then hell. I would prefer to go to Lake Zurich,il then coming to this one. Trust me.

Store is not safe my dog was attacked and the store did nothing. After 485 dollars in vet bills they still have not followed up
