This use to be my favorite bakery.. Many of my family members use this bakery. Which is why Im sad to give them so little stars but Im very disappointed in the response I have received as it realates to my cake.. I purchased an Elmo cake from Calumet Dec 18. Weeks in advance I sent the type of cake I wanted so all I had to do is go pay for it. Two weeks before Dec 18, I found out that my cousin had the exact cake from the exact bakery, Calumet ( we loved this bakery) . That exact night I emailed the bakery, the type of communication we were using, I asked to switch the cake around so it dont look like the same cake my family had already seen .. They understood and agreed. I went and paid for the cake and the lady said they will look at the conversation from the email.. That night I emailed them to make sure the payment and the email conversation was put together.. I received a response that everything was set.. To my surprise the bakery didnt give me the cake we had and understanding about. The color was wrong, I asked for whip cream I got buttercream but most of all the Elmo picture was wrong. The cake still tasted good so when three people from the party asked for the bakery info I didnt hesitate to give them the info without my negative review.. Although now Im very disappointed in Calumet because I emailed them expressing how my cake wasnt what we discussed and I have to this day not received so much as a response saying sorry or an explanation to the problem with my cake, when before I would get a reply in one day and its been a week.

I had Calumet Bakey make my wedding cake and cupcaked for August 2014. They did a great job. I will say the cupcakes didnt look how I expected but they still fit perfectly into my theme. They were very professional when I first met them and walked me through every detail to help me choose the right decisions. The only bad things I have to say is the did not call me to remind me of my last payment being due and didnt call at all after I made a deposit with them initially. This made me nervous that I could have forgotten about them until it was too late right before the wedding since there is so much going on and there would not have been a cake. They need to provide a courtesy call two weeks prior to the wedding to remind you of your final payment considering its due 10 days or so before your big day. But other than that everyone loved the cupcakes and my red velvet cake topper was delicious.

Every birthday I always ordered a red velvet cake from calumet bakery. My husband this year had order one for my 30th birthday and it was a complete disappointment. Not only was the decor the cake not what we asked for (handdrawn not screen imaged), but it was poorly done. The cake itself had more frosting than cake by a large margin. On top of it when we called to try to nail down details for the cake both people we talk to you were very rude to my husband. I have always gotten my pastries from Calumet bakery and my family has as well and sadly they have lost customers for life. Greatly disappointed.

Ordered a cupcake cake forming the number 80 for my mothers birthday 2 months ahead a time and paid in full. Arrived at 10:15 am on a Sunday and they couldnt find my order. Had to leave and they called me to ask what to write on the cake which we told them when we ordered. Arrived back to pick up cake and it still wasnt ready. Asked for the manager who got the cake and the decoration on the cake was Christmas themed in July!!!. OMG too late to change it. And the cake was comprised of 84 very small cucupcakes. The manager gave us a dozen donut as an apology but damage done

Was my cake delicious? YES!!! I wanted an awesome cake. I asked for gold glitter frosting, and lots of bling. It was my 14 year olds Golden Birthday. I was expecting to pay at least 80$ The young lady seemed in a hurry and took the order and said 30$ so I emphasized the decoration she said ok. I seen there were picture books and wondered why she didnt reference anything. Well I ended up with a brown cake with barely visible glitter, two white flowers and zero bling. Just a great tasting ugly cake; In the center of an awesome table set up.

I called to ask if they serve macaroons. The lady who answered the phone was very rude and sounded annoyed. She told me the bakery serves one flavor only and when I asked her the flavor I was put on hold for a few minutes. As soon as someone picked up the phone "disconnected". I tried to call back twice but no one picked up. I have been trying to be patient with the customer service from previous visits but now Im done. The cakes are gorge and delicious hence two stars instead of one but customer service means everything.

Cake design was not what I asked for the color was way off and the excuse was thats the way the printer prints out that way waited another 45 min pass pickup time only for them to do a rushed sloppy job When speaking to the mgr instead of him first apologizing he says "I wouldnt have even accept this order for the cake to be made " I will never buy another cake and also the workers were very unprofessional laughing and giving each other glares like my concerns werent valid.

I have been a customer to your bakery for quite some time now. Until this morning is why I must consider another bakery. My husband & I along with our grandchildren went for coffee & donuts. The young lady whom helped us was awfully rude & rushed us. Not to mention she had a pink blouse on that revealed her navel! Why in Gods name would she dress this way at a family business! I am extremely disgusted overall disappointed. Perhaps older staff? Uniforms? Customer service?

Great donuts, fresh bakery. That was a previous review. As of 1/17, will never go again! Bought their cinnamon rolls first thing in the morning, purchased for family and it was filled with oozing mold and fuzz made them sick. When I called to complain they were not apologetic only that they would refund the money only for the one donut even though several were purchased. No customer service and bad products, sad they lost their quality! Go anywhere else!

Reason #86 why I always go back to #calumetbakery... I paid a deposit on MY Birthday cake BACK in February but had that bad accident and couldnt celebrate and never got the cake. I walk in today for a cake for my grandfather; NO RECEIPT, NO MEMORY of how much I PAID and couldnt remember anything about the cake except that it was #travel themed...NOT ONLY did they remember (out of THOUSANDS of orders) MY

Ive been buying their pastries for years and LOVE the cheese strudel! I was never a fan of cheese pastries, but the strudel is the BEST! I get their atomic cakes, which always turn out perfect, too. I also ordered the "Barbie" cake for my daughters birthday and it was a hit! My friend is addicted to their turtle cookies.
