I had my ski waxed by Alpine accessaries (lake in the hills) this year, which was the first time (and the last time) I used Alpine accessaries for their service. Their website claimed the price is $15, when I brought in my skis, they asked for $20 instead (and said that $15 is for people purchase skis from them), and pushed me to buy additional services like tuning, etc. But they agreed for $15 later after I confronted them with their unspecific web claims. They required me to pay first before the waxing. They did a lousy job on waxing my skis, the wax was not evenly distributed, and the wax layer was very very thin. When I asked to get my money back since I need to get it done again, the manager said "too late, you already paid", and started to blame my skis, his attitude was the worst had ever seen. This is the shop I highly recommand to avoid.

I have known the owners of Alpine Accessories for years and have purchased skis, boots and clothing from them. They are very knowledgable about what they sell. I have seen them try-out items before adding them to their website and store. The ski tuning service is excellent. I have been skiing for over 40 years and I can tell when my skis have been tuned properly. Rick is excellent at fitting ski boots. He knows all the tricks to customizing boots for problem feet. And he has the best boot heaters! Laurie really knows the ins and outs with the ski clothing. She has seleced a wide range of jackets and pants to fit my budget, taste and body type. I have and will continue to recommend Alpine Accessories to skiers and snowboarders.

Best Ski shop in Northern Illinois. Nice selection at Competitive prices and Super knowledgeable staff. I have bought multiple pairs of Skis and boots for both myself and my children from Alpine Accessories and each time have been impressed with their Customer service and attention to the details Especially when fitting my kids for new gear.
