The food here is SO delicious!!!! Honestly, anything you get off of the menu will be very delicious and authentic. I really enjoy coming here because each time I get something different it ends up impressing me even more than the dish before. Food here is very unique and if you are one to venture out of your comfort zone of what you are used to - this is a great place to test your palette! The food here is perfectly spiced and very comforting. Everything I have had so far is delicious, but my absolute favorites so far would be the Mumbai Bhadang, Chicken Kebab Roll, and the Masala Dosa!! I do have to say the dishes are on the more medium-spicy side even if ordered not spicy, but thats my preference so its to each their own on the spice level. Also, one of the best parts about this place is that they sell coconuts!! :) They even open it in half so you can eat the coconut meat. I will be back :) Thanks again for the great food and quick service!!

The food is just about okay. There are a million varieties of pan but they are also okay. I have had several items on the menu. The sandwich is better than most. Misal pav is good too. Pav Vada is okay. However, the dosas and the chat is bad bad bad. What is worse is the customer service. The owner, her name is Neelu or something, she is horrible to the customers. She doesnt smile, she doesnt even look them in the eye. No hi, no thank you, no how are you. Absolutely rude! My suggestion is if she is at the counter, take a turn and come back some other time. The other staff is also non-courteous but at least you dont have to deal with them one on one. They have just recently set up a separate kitchen for non-veg food, which is a great thing. The pricing is okay, but sometimes, paying $5 for a small plate can pinch you hard. They will not give you extra chutney or sauces or anything. You can try but they will only make faces and say no.

Colorful, vibrant and cozy café with locals going crazy over this place! West-suburbs definitely needed a place like this. Had the honor of tasting a few items this weekend, Delish... Huge variety of Indian and Pakistani favorites... Yes!!! The lines are long at times, but any idiot should expect that -considering the cafe just opened up within a week!!! Duh!!! I feel people who like to bash a new business have no value; instead of opening your big mouth and telling the people that work there to help fix the issue, you ignorant mothers are bashing a brand new business at week #1. Seriously you all have No Class.... I suggest IF youre SO unhappy, drive your tail back to where ever you came from and dont turn back... Good Luck Mumbai Café, I will surely return, xx sB

I went here with a couple of friends on our visit to Chicago from Toronto . I must say the food in Mumbai cafe is not up to the mark we ordered cheese vada paav and were charged for it but given only regular vada paav . And on checking with the server who is also the owner of the cafe she gave me 50 cents and asked me not to bother her . I think she just got lucky that her restaurant is doing well tho she has zero sense of customer service . she definitely needs some training on customer service and how to own up to her mistakes .I would never recommend this place to anyone to get insulted like the way I got . Do not go here guys ..The owner is seriously the meanest rudest person ever .

The lady who took our order was extremely rude. The only profession she should be in is where she does not have to interact with people. She keeps talking to other people while taking order and then behaves as if you are at fault. Regarding food, the taste was below AVERAGE. Which is surprising coz there were a lot of people there probably because they are open till late. Please tell the chef that Paav Bhaji does not have huge pieces of vegetables, I have eaten it at home and numerous places outside. They actually added 2-3 pieces of onion to our Pav Bhaji for namesake. So at least for me, not a single reason to go back.

I wish I could give 0 stars. Worst ever customer service and disgusting food. The lady at the cash counter doesnt know a single letter of customer service and is very rude and insults her customers. The cheese vadapav was bland and barely had any cheese on it. When my friend complained about it she said Im busy dont bother me. The gol gappa we ordered was served with left over dabeli masala instead of regular potato masala. The dabeli we ordered had literally no sauce in it just pav n aloo masala. I would suggest people to Stay Away from this place. Totally disappointed with the food and the rude lady at the cash.

Horrible Service - Purchased a Baraf-Ka-Gola. I asked the cashier for Orange and Kala-Khatta flavor on the Gola. The restaurant was busy, so understandably she messed up the color combination and added Kala-Khatta and Kacha Mango. I told her I wanted Orange and Kala-Khatta. She asked me to have a seat while she made another (correct) Baraf-Ka-Gola for me. After several minutes, she had my order ready, but the problem is she didnt make a new Baraf-Ka-Gola, she just added the Orange color to the messed-up order she initially prepared. This place is a complete rip-off. Dont recommend this place.

I wish I could take a picture and post it here... The place looks so untidy. If you cant handle the weekend rush, Im sorry but youre in a wrong business!! I dont think the people running this business have any courtesy to acknowledge the feedback (I told them the falooda was no good, it was just another milkshake with ice-cream); instead, they provide a blunt answer (the lady at the counter) - "No customer ever complained about this". Well, so be it... here is the first one!!!

Food was OK... After ordering and waiting they told us they didnt have an item we ordered, we understood and they gave us something else. We later nicely requested chutni (which was asked for at the time of ordering) so we could add it ourselves while eating. Employee who I asked taunted us in the back saying "If we wanted more chutni we should have brought it from home." We would have gladly paid extra if it was a problem.

I would not recommend this place to anyone. The food quality was mediocre at best. We went in a big group and had ordered atleast 10 different items. I was disappointed with 9 out of the 10 items. On my way to the restroom, I caught a glimpse of the kitchen. It was awful. I am surprised that they pass health inspections. PLEASE STAY AWAY. There are many good indian restaurants out there. This is definitely not one of them.

Just horrible. Quality of food declined rapidly. I could clearly smell of egg on paneer Dosa. Clearly not a place for South Indian food from its sambar and idly quality. They took our order wrong. A staff started cleaning our desk before we finished main course. Ordered rabdi falooda and they have a pista one. Just a horrible management. Food tastes bland. One saving grace is bhelpuri which was good.
