Great variety selections of coffees including for the fall season is the wicked chai (chai and pumpkin) but its can too sweet due to pumpkin syrup. I recommend the Almond Joy Mocha (and if you like whip, it will be filled pretty overflowing!) If you are not coffee fan try the Almond Joy Chocolate. There tons of food both breakfast and lunch options. Blue Max only use fresh farm produce including their eggs. They also have tofu for #vegetarian and #vegan lovers such as the Lean Scramble. This spot in the west burb is actually a house converted to cafe. Cozy and two different rooms to choose, either the front room or the sunroom which is covered in glass. Also warm weather you can sit on the deck patio or backyard patio.

Were locals so we pass this cafe often. Today was our first time stopping in. Theres a small parking area on the left side of the cafe and you can park your bike on the right side of the building by the ramp. Yes its handicap accessible. Its very cozy and offers a variety of drinks. Im lactose intolerant so to find a place that offers several alternatives is a bonus. We ordered the Max breakfast and boy were we satisfied these were the fluffiest eggs ever. The fruit was ripe and sweet. The French toast was perfection, believe me I know good food. The noise level can be a bit much but otherwise well be back.

After a nearly 30 minute wait for a take out order of french toast, I am underwhelmed by the meal. It appears to just be a slice of regular store bought bread topped with bananas that are turning brown. And, I have several chunks of raw sweet potato in my side of roasted potatoes. As I was waiting, I was never offered any updates, water, or anything. I gave it two stars because the atmosphere inside the cafe seems really cool. I really want to like this place but I am not sure I will be returning.

Are you serious about coffee? Then this is the place for you. Blue Max roasts its own coffee and offers light and dark roasts. Food options are a bit more upscale than your traditional comfort food. Make sure to try the Huevos Benedictos. They have a kids menu that is always a success with our picky 4 year old. Free WiFi and excellent pastries (try the scones and Morning Glory muffins). A bit crowded on the weekends after 9am so plan ahead.

This could be a sweet neighborhood cafe. But the service is waaaaaay too slow despite having an inordinate number of employees. Went there for take out. Waited nearly 30 min. for my order, which included pancakes. Got home only to find that there was no syrup included. Pancakes were cold and had to actually stop off and get maple syrup! Called mgr who offered no remedy. Nice. Used to be a loyal customer but Ill never go back there.

It may look like a house ...well it is a house...Highly recommended for breakfast. Not a ton of options but just enough to have a really good sit down breakfast. They also offer a few lunch options and salads. Coffee selection is great. Steel cut oats meal (choice of milk, almond, skim etc). Got a patio area as well. You can bring your dog but I wouldnt recommend it because the patio area doesnt have much space between tables.

This is a cute, cozy, wonderful place to sit and enjoy an amazing local-roasted coffee or latte. Yes, they roast their own coffee. Their interior is inviting, and their outdoor deck/patio is a great place to sit and dine on some yummy breakfast or brunch. It is a bit pricier than other places, but they use organic and responsible ingredients, so well worth it. Also, the scones are THE BEST Ive ever had.

Nestled in the middle of Lathrop in Forest Park is this hidden gem! I mean I was not expecting the restuarant to look like a house! When i walked inside I was pleasantly amazed at the rustic decor and pleasant staff. I had a Belgian waffle with a hot chocolate and they were savory and delicious! You should go for the experience and stay for the ambiance. Prices are decent too!

Great energy. Wonderful outdoor surrounding. Food is wonderful. My fave is the huevos benedictos which I get sans muffin. The mochas are rich and wonderful, the coffee strong and hot. I love the alt milk choices. The potatoes lovely. Why only 4 stars? Prices, cramped, and wish they varied the menu a bit. But its worth the trip and youll be happy with your experience.

We rarely miss a week at Blue Max! The coffee is the best in the area and can be purchased by the pound as well. My go-to for brunch is the frittata or huevos benedictos, while my husband gets an omelette or panini and our son loves the blueberry pancakes. Very nice waiting area upstairs when its busy, with free coffee and the occasional baked goods to share!

I love the "small house" atmosphere of the place. This coffee shop has excellent coffee and good food, but the wait staff always seems under-informed and overwhelmed. I generally enjoy this place - but with the coffee grinder is very loud when you sit inside and it is difficult to talk over. This place tries very hard, but falls short.

Always good food (LOVE the berry scone), good service, but be prepared to wait. If you have a party larger than 2 you will likely wait at least 20m, and then once you order you will wait about 25/30m for your food. This is not a quick in & out place. Probably best for a lazy weekend brunch if you have no where be after.

This is honestly my favorite breakfast place ever since the first time coming. Not only is the food delicious (Especially the roasted potatoes) they have some great coffee that comes in the coffee mug cups. They make the best iced chai latte EVER! And not to mention the milky way cappuccino is unbelievable

This is a nice place to catch a relaxing breakfast. Its been crowded every time Ive been there (whether weekday or weekend, early or late), but the service never suffers. Staff are always friendly, food is always cooked perfectly, and the coffee is good. One of our favorite breakfast places in the area.

Small local coffee house located in a former residence. The Blue Max house blend is extremely tasty when prepared using the pour over method. We went for breakfast and found the food to be ok, nothing stellar. Pancakes were good, but the Eggs Benedict seemed to be overcooked. Will try again next week.

Love the old home ambiance. Good variety of brunch options, both sweet and savory. Try one of the specialty coffees and ask for staff recommendations--they have recommended alternative milks that are delish with a particular latte.

This is my favorite lunch spot. Fresh, interesting, right sized portions - soup, sandwiches, and breakfast items. Always satisfying and delicious, with friendly and efficient service. Dont pass up the chance!

Service very slow, never checked back after food was delivered, coffee very good, but wasnt offered a refill. Fruit accompanying breakfast obviously prepped on same cutting board as onions. Not impressed.
