Essentially all B&Ns are the same qualitatively. One issue I witnessed is that a very elderly gentleman with two assistants asked if they sold accounting software and the employee told him they sell nothing on disc besides audio books. That is not true (e.g. Rosetta Stone) and I was forced to wonder whether there actually was an accounting book with a bundled disc somewhere upstairs and nobody cared enough to look. Also people camp out in front of the doors and pressure people into buying semi useless stuff. Some are homeless and some are students. The homeless ones usually dont have tablets or ask for credit cards, but otherwise its hard to tell them apart. Thats not really B&Ns fault; just how college towns work.

Went in here to buy a novel, thinking for once Id support a brick-and-mortar bookstore, but couldnt find it on the shelves in its section. Go up to the two employees standing around chatting, to ask where it is. The one guy replies with a pickup line, the other by telling me my request was "a really weird thing to say out loud." He had never heard of the top-award-winning book (you do work at a bookstore?), and finally gave me rather poor directions to a table downstairs. The interaction left me feeling angry and disrespected as a customer. Next time, Ill buy from Amazon if I cant find my book at Fresh Market Books around the corner.

This is a good-sized bookstore with a handy cafe area. Pretty much all the best-sellers are here. Plus a wide selection of magazines. Also, the childrens area has plenty of toys and books to choose from. Its a great place to spend an afternoon and given that its two stories, theres no end of choices to browse from.

One of the few last Barnes and noble around. Beautiful and big two floor store. A good amount of seats to sit and read or talk. Lots of people sit on the floor along the windows and walls on the second floor. Starbucks inside of the store also.

Definitely one of the better B&N around. The staff are helpful and kind - the front door security woman is so so great. Pretty wide selection, but also not the largest B&N around. A larger one is located in Skokie.

This is a GREAT Barnes and Noble! Awesome kids area with a small stage for kids to play on, comfortable chairs, they host midnight releases, lots of natural light, great toy selection, great gaming section too.

Typical Barnes & Noble, minus the parking lot. Large population of college kids and locals living in the store. Poor wifi and possibly the worst public bathrooms in the northern suburbs.
