Worst customer service Ive ever had the displeasure of experiencing. The staffer at checkout had the most listless, dead eyes Ive ever seen, leading me to believe she was picturing herself anywhere but there. She wasnt rude, but she certainly wasnt polite either. The main issue I take with this store is one of the managers. She was absolutely awful. When I asked her a question, in a very polite tone, she gave me some generic load of crap that told me she didnt want to deal with me at all. From there onward, I continued to speak with her in a very respectful manner, but with each question she became more and more snarky. Finally I had enough of her extremely unhelpful and downright mean nature and left, however I shouldnt have had to do that. What is this store thinking having an awfully rude person with zero customer service skills as a manager? Who thought that was a good idea? Ive worked retail close to ten years and never ONCE treated ANYONE in such an impolite manner. I certainly will never step foot in this store again, you can believe that.

Where did the chairs go? The location seems a little bleak and besides the coffee shop inside it really does not feel inviting. B&N used to have chairs for people to sit - maybe read a couple pages of a book and say hey I like this and get it - instead they have nothing. Not a fan of shopping here and wouldnt buy my books here unless it was a dire emergency and even then most of the stuff is cheaper online. I bet this place will close within the next couple years.

I could and would spend hours here----if only I could find a place to sit down! I love the selection, but I wish they would have more frequent sales on regular items. I will keep coming to Barnes and Noble for as long as they exist......but how long will that be with digital media taking over? Its kind of sad. (But we will still have libraries, only they dont have Starbucks inside!)

Well managed location but the taxes in Skokie are the highest in the nation due to compounding county and municipal taxation! With the new Soda tax coming in July, I will never buy anything in Cook county again! I feel terrible for the businesses....so many will lose customers! Check your taxes on your next purchase receipt.....it will make you sick!

This place need a lot of work. 1. Free WiFi no OUTLET. And they dont seem to want to do anything about it. Even though so many have complained. 2. No comfortable chairs to sit and read. 3. No the best customer service Ive ever experienced but not the worst. Its like this place exist but not really trying its best.

I love this store. They have a great magazine section and lots chairs to sit and read. After Christmas they have boxes of cards near the checkout. It has this great feel of a real bookstore. I took my niece there for a midnight sale of one of Stephanie Meyers books.

This store offers Free Wi-Fi but no electric outlets for consumers to plug in their computers. How useful is that? I am surprised that well organized Borders went out of business while places like this still exist. Limited selection of books, especially in science.

Store needs more seating dispersed throughout the store for customers who have physical challenges. Cashier was nasty and refused to take a Groupon coupon which clearly stated for in-store or online.

I mainly go here to study during the weekends since my favorite coffee shop closes early. But be warned that it is usually cold in the cafe area so always bring an extra sweater!

Ive been coming here for years. This is one of the smaller Barnes, but plenty of books and magazines. Good place to have a cup of coffee and study.
