A hip place for book enthusiasts to chill out and indulge. The Book Cellar appeals to a wide audience. From the uber hip book people, to people who are looking for a place to escape from the weather and have a spot of tea. I have to give top marks to the Book Cellar for creating an atmosphere that is cosy, elegant and soothing. It has such a strong appeal, for people who are looking for a quiet place to read, people watch and just soak up the feeling of a lazy, relaxing afternoon. I cant say too much about the quality of the selection of books, as I am not that into books, but I guess it does stock a wide variety of books that should appeal to most audiences. The shelves are spaced rather close to each other so if youre claustrophobic, it might not be a good idea to venture too far into the store. Just hang out at the lovely cafe area out in the front, soak in the atmosphere and enjoy!

A favorite independent book store of mine in Lincoln Square! This small storefront book store not only has great books, but also great gifts. I find myself making a endless list of "wants" every time I step foot in the door. They are very active in the events areas. From book readings to comedy shows, they know how to bring it! The cafe has coffee, sandwiches, desserts and best of all, booze. Grab a glass of wine and browse, read, and relax. P.S. Gluten free cookies and cupcakes at the cafe!

One of my favorite local bookstores in the country. Staff recommendations on the shelves are a delight to read an have turned me on to a few books over the past few years. Ive also found some gem signed-copies from favorite authors here! The events in the cafe space can be really great, and who doesnt love a little wine with your book reading? Great little extras too: the cards, the bookmarks, magnets, bags, and all the gift-shop type stuff in the front fits perfectly with the bookstore.

Parfait pour lire en buvant un café ou un thé dans un endroit calme à Lincoln Square. Le vendredi matin, on peut y aller avec les enfants pour écouter des histoires. Endroit très sympathique.

This place is a hidden treasure of Lincoln Square. Its such a small and intimate bookstore. And what I mean by small is that its not overly crowded and generic like other chain bookstores. Theres a cafe inside where you can find a great selection of drinks (caffeine, water, and the likes). They offer free WIFI throughout the entire bookstore. The staff are also very friendly and helpful.

Wish there were more places like this in the city. The bookstore/cafe serves up the best atmosphere for exploring/reading books, sipping coffee or just kicking off an evening with some local brews. They also host literary events and workshops throughout the year, so check out the event board.

Came here for some coffee/maybe booze, but mostly to get some work done. The wifi took 15 minutes to connect and then was in and out consistently. Incredibly infuriating when youre trying to do work online, and the staff didnt seem to want to help. Please get more reliable wifi.

Great little neighborhood bookstore. I wish they would rotate their selection a lot more frequently. They usually have a few random foreign language books which is fun. Its a little more expensive then your standard bookstore though. The hours are also not the best.

Terrible bookstore. Their web site listed an autographed book but when I got there they didnt have it. The staff was rude and unhelpful. The store is cramped and the selection wasnt particularly good. They did have a few other signed books in stock.

A great local book store. Its so easy to order a book to the store if they are out of stock (at no additional cost). And there are tons of staff recommendations. A solid option for the low key coffee and chill or to find something new to read

Local book store, not the hugest selection of books but as good as it gets for a local placr. Has a coffee shop which also serves beer and wine by the glass and is a favorite spot to get away and read a book in peace or meet a friend

What a charming little bookstore. The staff give their summaries of their favorites books which hang out from the books themselves. Mini coffee shop inside and a few sitting areas. Right in the middle of the square. Love it!

I was looking for a book on Basketball. The clerk was super helpful and I ended up talking basketball with him for a while. It was so fun. I love this place and the coffee is amazing. I love going back.
