So you are in the west loop and want doughnuts? Im not talking about those sorry excuses across the street at Dunkin but some real ones? Well this new Vault stop on Canal is going to take care of you. The doughnuts are great, at least in the morning! Choices go down throughout the day as the selection dwindles and they are MUCH better when fresh than as an afternoon treat. The flavor is still there but they just arent the same after around 1. Also, some great espresso! Now heres where my review has to get a little harder on them as we have a full selection of coffees in the area with a Dunkin, Starbucks, Lavazza, and Au Bon Pain... Not to mention all of the fast food and breakfasty joints that also have coffee. Still, if you are there for a doughnut anyway you wouldnt go wrong by picking one of theirs up - I just wouldnt go out of my way for just the coffee. Still, a great little cafe with an extremely friendly wait staff. I only wish they had more options aside from the doughnuts at the location to enjoy.

Im a regular here and while the doughnuts are incredible--a case could be made for the "best in the world" title, though this location doesnt carry the phenomenal yeast doughnuts that the Franklin location does--I continue to come back for the espresso drinks. I am somewhat of a coffee snob and while I cant honestly say I have that much praise for the espresso itself (its passable and not offensive, though doesnt bring much to the table), Hogsalt and this DV location in particular have a way with milk that I have not seen repeated at any of the major coffee players in the city (Intelligencia, Bow Truss, etc.). So if you like macchiatos, cortados, lattes or cappuccinos, this is honestly about as good as it gets in my opinion. I also have to call out the staff here. They are friendly, patient and genuinely just awesome people. They make my morning (and occasionally afternoon) stop one of the bright spots in my day.

Cute shop thats nestled in the lobby of the office building. This location serves up only old fashioned donuts, unlike their main shop by Merchandise Mart (with the exception of a rotating daily donut special). The donuts are always spot on and delicious, moist with a great crunch on the outside. Their coffee and espresso drinks are also on point. Friendly and fast staff ensure that the line keeps moving.

Great donuts and nice strong coffee. I was expecting coffee to be secondary to their donuts, but they bring their strong drip is as good as any of the best shops. Located right next to Ogilvie inside an office building, its very convenient to grab coffee here before heading off on the rest of my walk to work. So if you work in or around the loop, I definitely recommend giving Doughnut Vault a try.

Best donuts in Chicago. The lemon poppy seed one is amazing and sometimes they have a root beer glazed donut that is impossible to pass up. I have some friends that say the donuts are too dense and sweet but that is exactly how I like them.

I love the coffee and donuts here. When u drink coffee like dd and starbucks you dont get kick needes after a while but the coffee here wow! It is very strong and good. You will get wired on this stuff. Good prices as well.

A bit on the expensive side, this location only has the cake style doughnut which Im not a fan of, you will need to go to the other location on Kinze st. Coffee is overpriced.
