Having been longtime patrons of the Sun Singer wine and cheeses, we thought we would try the new Sun Singer "fine" dining experience tonight. It was a disaster! We began with the oysters and a glass of wine. The waitress brought our oysters and one plate...there were two of us. We waited for our wine and it did not come. We asked the waitress, she said it would be right out. It did not come. She went and waited on three other tables. After waiting over 10 more minutes I got up from there table and inquired of the waitress if we could have our wine. She said, "... Yup its right there on the bar..." and had been for quite a while. I suggested I could carry it to the table myself. Unfortunately, our chardonnay was fairly warm at this point. We both ordered the scallops. $26/each for 4 poorly prepared/undercooked scallops, a lump of white rice and mushy overcooked bok choy. The total for the meal, $91. Truly a waste of time and money considering the many fine dining locations in Champaign. We will not repeat this adventure. On the way out, we decided to buy some cheese and bread. When we arrived home, we discovered that we had been given only 2 of the 4 cheeses we had chosen. The other 2 apparently were cheese cutters choice but not ours.

I was disappointed to find that my friend could not continue to eat here. Though they have a Gluten Free Menu, they use the same gloves and knives they use to prepare the gluten free food as they use to prepare regular food. (In other words, they didnt change their gloves or change knives.) I understand them not wanting to "cater" to people with Celiacs, but taking the same precautions with their Gluten Free foods as they would with the foods of people with allergies would be good. I know they know how to take those precautions, since it is taught in Safe Serve, which, at least the managers, had to take.

Awesome service!!! Very nice selection of food and beverages! Manager and Staff go way above and beyond. They are very attentive and thoughtful in taking care of customers and making sure they are happy. Their Gift Baskets are heartfelt and are great for whatever the occasion, whether it be to show appreciation or to give a special gift to a loved one. I am especially appreciative for the hard work and special care put into a Gift Basket that I ordered. I would happily recommend and give future business to Sun Singer Wine & Spirits

Sun Singer has a good-sized selection of small plates and sandwiches to choose from for lunch/dinner, and they have plenty of drinks (wine especially!) available. We had an olive plate, some goat cheese dip, and crab cakes, and they all were great little dishes. Thats coming from someone who loves a good crab cake! The service was attentive and helpful and prices were very reasonable. I would recommend Sun Singer for a nice little summer dinner out in the sun.

Sun Singer appeared on the scene when this part of town was desperately in need of a great cafe/wine bar type of place. Years later it is still booming and I love to go there for lunch, happy hour, you name it. The food is high quality and the service is great. We also love getting food (and wine) to go from there. The staff is so helpful at putting together good cheese and wine pairings. Laurent especially is one of our favorites!

Food is always solid. Last visit we got a cheese plate (selected three for three people), it was plentiful and there are a wide variety to choose from. I love the smoked salmon club. The amount of salmon is generous, and I can never finish a whole sandwich. Large wine selection - and reasonably priced. Service has always been friendly and attentive. The only downside is that it can be on the louder side when crowded.

Absolutely love the staff in all areas, food is fantastic, person who makes the baskets did a great job for us, Leruant helped us with setting up our Christmas basket, helped us get started with great wines and explaining what, why, and how they were made, taste like, smell like, what ones to eat with certain meals. My wife and I enjoy coming here. The food menu is good and for the most part the service is great. Since adding their new dining room, weve seen wait time for food increase. The also have a great selections of wine and craft beer. We usually buy something before we leave. The wine & beverage retail side employees are very knowledgeable and friendly.

I love Sunsinger! Especially since theyre added in the new dining area, its much easier to go there for lunch or grab dinner. The food is awesome and the wines are even better. Ive had several of the sandwiches (fav is the hot ham and cheese on pretzel bread) and several of the salads! Great place for a nicer lunch or casual dinner.

I love this place! The dining atmosphere is warm and inviting. They have a beautiful bar offering a wide a selection of wine and cheese. I do believe their burgers are the best in town with an extended menu that will keep you coming back for more. If you go, you must try my favorite wine, Saracco.

Food was excellent; service was sub-par. Upon arrival, waitress seemed anoyed that she was "incovinenced" by us coming in to find the hostess (per the signs instuction) in order to arrange for iutside seating. Hostess herself was pleasant. Waiter appeared lethargic and depressed.

Sun Singer offers a plethora of domestic and international wines and spirits to accommodate any price range. The owner is very knowledgeable and willing to help you find exactly what youre looking for. The restaurant is also with visiting, with good service and great food.

I enjoyed sitting outside. Due to disability do not get out much, but was pleased with my experience. Waiter did not bother us or make us feel a need to move as soon as meal finished & that was SO appreciated. Food good & quick. Thank you.

Service is friendly but slow. Nice assortment of wines but dont expect much help from the staff at selection since they havent tasted many of the wines on the list. A pleasant place to spend an afternoon with a nice noshy menu.

A personal favorite for my wife and I. They have a great selection of craft beers and wines. Their food is great and includes some unique choices from time to time. They also have a staff that is second to none.
