Betsy, the proprietor, is fantastic. She has a great selection of older books and maintains a "Wish-list" for customers in case she comes across desired titles in the future. However, I strongly suggest customers only visit her store on Friday through Sunday when she is present. The Fiestaware vendor with whom she shares space is entirely without knowledge of either courtesy or the book inventory. He minds both sides in her absence so plan your visit for the days when she is there. Follow that advice and you will not be disappointed. Friday through Sunday, you will most assuredly enjoy your shopping experience.

Quite possibly one of the best bookstores I have ever been to. Betsy was so wonderful while my husband and I shopped in her store. My husband was able to find some vintage Masonic books and I was able to grab up some vintage Cherry Ames books. We could have spent the entire day in there. She gave us some great websites and groups to get involved with to help in our book searches. Any of our future visits to savannah with most definitely include a stop at Books on Bay.

I love old books. So Books on Bay is my kind of heaven. There is a wide variety of books, and theyre well organized, which makes it so much easier to find a title, an author, or a genre you like. The owner is friendly and helpful. And there are comfy chairs, if you want to spend a little time with a favorite old book that you dont plan to take home.

A nice old shop to browse through, especially if you like to collect childrens books. My teenage son & I had fun looking at the old books, including many first editions. We enjoyed visiting with the proprietor, too.
