As the owner of the New York Butcher Shoppe in Alpharetta, I wanted to respond to the review by Lisa Ann. First, I apologize for your disappointing experience in our store, and I would like to invite you back to see if we can create a better experience for you. We are a real butcher. I can assure you that we do have a grinder in the store, and we grind our beef fresh daily, in house, which is labeled as "ground beef". Our ground beef starts with a chuck roll to which we add the trimmings from our ribeyes, strips, sirloin, and tenderloins, all of which are cut in house. If you truly wish to have "ground chuck" we can accommodate you and grind to order but in our experience, our blend provides a better product. We are also able to do the same with the ground pork. We do keep frozen ground pork, which has been ground in house, packaged, and frozen, but we can grind fresh for you as well. The only potential issue that may arise is that we typically "lose" about a pound of meat during each grind. This is meat that remains in the plate and gears of the grinder. If this loss is acceptable, you can choose your own meat from the case and will will grind it. We offer Aged Certified Angus Brand Top Choice or Prime Beef which we purchase through several local suppliers. The large truck you noted outside of our store was delivering cases of sub-primal loins. From these loins, we cut cut the steaks that you see in the cases. This is not the same product that you will find in supermarket chains. In addition to the beef and pork selections, we offer lamb, veal, chicken, seafood, sausages, prepared meals and sides, gourmet grocery items, gourmet frozen pasta, deli items, cheese, beer and wine. Please come back in to our store to give us another opportunity to earn your business.

I really love the fresh items at the New York Butcher Shoppe. They have great porterhouse steaks, bone in ribeyes, brisket, chicken wings, and kurobuta pork chops. The employees are always friendly and helpful. They will season everything you buy. We like getting the lemon pepper seasoning on the chicken wings. There is also a rewards program, which helps out when you are buying higher end meats (can be expensive, but so worth it!).
