Pretty much the only place in Tampa that carries a decent selection of hiking/camping/backpacking gear and essentials. Although the store is small I must commend them on the selection of merchandise they choose to stock on the showroom floor. Basically all that you would need to outfit yourself for the trip. Although they would not be able to compete with a big box store style outfitter they do a great job and fill a niche not really accommodated for in Tampa. They also have a good variety of hiking shoes, packs and clothing. The staff is friendly, courteous, professional, knowledgeable and eager to assist you. This is a great place to start looking for your gear!

I went to Tampa Bay Outfitters with the goal of finding some good waterproof hiking boots for our trip to the Cotswolds of England, London, and Paris. The extremely knowledgeable salesperson first asked plenty of questions to get a good idea of what I needed and then stepped me through trying on many, many pairs of boots, weeding them out as we went. The boots I ended up purchasing were perfect! My feet were comfy and well supported. We walked 5-10 miles each day during our 10-day trip and the Vasque boots (and consequently my feet) did their job very well. I have recommended this store to many people and will definitely go back!

I came in for a pair of boots and to outfit a trip down to South America. Over the several trips I made to the store for what I needed, every staff member there was extremely friendly and helpful. Most importantly however, they were all experienced in using most of the gear sold in the store and knew what they were talking about and what to recommend, making the advice they gave during my visits much more valuable. I would definitely recommend checking out the store because of the great staff and the quality of the equipment they sell.

I spend a lot of months out of the year abroad shooting fotography. Lots of my adventures put me far away from civilization to say the least. Before each adventure there is typically a stop to Tampa Bay Outfitters to gear up. I have been shopping with them for what seems like more than 10 years. Store just gets better and better. In the beginning it was primarily Patagonia. Now its that plus so much more. I can recommend Egan and his team enough. They always take great care of me and get me outfitted for my trips. Henthorne

Egan and Cory are top notch guys. I have been a customer of the shop for a while and they always greet me in a friendly and courteous manner. Best part about the shop is they really use the products they sell and carry what works with no guesswork on your part. Being the only Patagonia dealer in the area is what brought me in and the staff are what will keep you coming back they offer simple kind service and treat you like family. If you need outdoor apparel or gear Tampa Bay Outfitters is the place to get it.

Awesome collection of really high-quality hiking and camping equipment! I love supporting the local shop versus going to one of the big box retailers. Though, understandably, the selection is less than you might find at those larger stores, the prices are right on par with others. In addition, we had fantastic service from a group of experienced salespeople and hikers. They offered some solid suggestions, and we could not be more pleased!

Excellent staff, excellent selection of things you didnt think you need, and a humble yet well-curated selection for anyone from novices like myself all the way to seasoned explorers. Prices are standard and may seem a bit steep, but thats to be expected in such a niche store competing against giant chains. Make the trip and visit.

Great experience at Tampa Bay Outfitters. Extremely knowledgeable about everything they sell. Had a particularly good experience buying hiking boots. Staff was patient fitting me in 7 or 8 different styles before finding the perfect fit. Its just a fun place to shop. Look forward to going back.

Great place for hiking boots and camelbacks. I do a ton of stuff outdoors and this is probably the best place in Tampa I could find. Prices were competitive with online but service of this place could not be beat. They helped me find the pair of boots that are rugged yet comfortable.
