Have visited twice to purchase food for my puppy. The employee (?owner) would do well to at least TRY to be welcoming and pleasant. Very abrupt and absolutely non-engaging when I arrived today with my well-behaved pup on a leash. Purchased $17 bag of dog food and received abrupt service. Other patrons in the store were quite pleasant, greeting me and my dog. Exactly the same type of encounter about three months ago. In fact, on todays visit, we met a delightful woman who visits the island every year (for 20 years). She is a professional groomer and shows dogs. She visits this store every year and when I asked her about the management, she indicated that the employees have "always been like that...rude and disinterested..." Store is fine for food selection, although limited and prices are about 15%-20% higher than big box stores. Nice selection of accessories but markup is quite high. Would not mind if the owners/employees were more engaging. We left today wondering if the woman behind the desk even liked dogs.
