I want to share a story with all until last evening I was an employee of St Vincent De Paul in Ruskin. first off I love the job and the customers it can be challenging atmosphere to work in very diverse area. I have been an employee for 2 1-2 years Ive been dependable,, flexible, and patient. last evening I called the director at 9pm as I have a brother who had an accident ad is on a ventilator to tell him I wouldnt be in in the AM 9-1 I only work 3 days a week. I called him because the manager & I had a bad experience once when I was ill. I explained the situation to him and he was very uncompassionate and said I see you will be off on Saturday as well and do I have something going on I said yes I do. I put in for that day off way in advance but nobody really pays attention. He went on to say then you wont be in at all tomorrow I said I really wont be able to concentrate. He said well I wanted to talk to you anyways but I didnt want to do it on the phone. I said what about he said he would rather talk to me in person . I asked again as I thought I did something wrong and he told me that they were making changes and going to hire someone full time 40 hours I said would it be something I could apply for he said no they already hired this person and I didnt have the retail experience she did. I do have 20 yrs. retail and management/supervisor experience. but basically he said that hours were going to be cut back on the other employees I said are you letting me go he said yes I said I have been a good dependable worker and put up with a lot of BS from my hours being cut to days being changed and I work hard, he didnt deny that at all he said he enjoyed working with me. talk about kicking you when you are down I was so beside myself Im worried about my brother making it through the night and trying to give as much notice as possible so they can plan ahead. my stress grew over 12 hours a week for an organization that is unprofessional and has little integrity. This will be the first of my stories I will share with you and this particular organization in Ruskin FL . If you have experience to share let me know as I have witnessed 1st hand some questionable situations with the Ruskin St Vincent De Paul. Think where you donate your things and who will benefit best from it always.

0 stars isnt possible??? Went to donate some goods. Got there at 8:47. Lady comes out and very RUDELY states that donations arent accepted until 9am. People like this are the reason I havent been to church in over 25 years. NASTY! Well be taking our donations elsewhere from now on. Id rather give my items to a for profit corporation like Goodwill where I at least dont have to deal with douchebags!
