So the first time I went, the owner was very rude. My friend and I were walking around the store looking at stuff and he kept asking us to buy something or leave. So we decided to give him another chance because we live in the neighborhood directly behind them. I went in and traded in a bunch of Gameboy Advance games and such. He offered me a good price and let me pick out a few games off the wall. I left one of my games there that I decided to choose, and then went back in the next day. There was a confused girl at the counter that could not help me or tell me where the owner was. I came back the next day again and he was nowhere to be found. The day after I called the shop explaining my situation and how I left the game and he told me theres no way he could help me because I could have been anyone and I could have just called up and told him I left a game there. He basically was insinuating that I was going to steal a game, and that I did not actually leave a game there. His exact words were I deal with so many people every day how could I ever remember a game that you left on the counter. Im not very hard to pick out from a crowd of people, so theres no way he didnt recognize me. Im covered in tattoos and I have long hair. This guy knew that I left my game there and he just didnt want to pay for it seemed like. As I talk to him on the phone he began to explain to me that there was no way even if I came there with my receipt to show him that I left a measly $7 game on the counter. Is $7 really worth a customer for Life? Seeing as how we are all video game users and we live literally in the neighborhood behind you you could have had service every single day. I mean the dude even have cameras in there and I asked him to review the cameras just for the principal. I just seem like he did not want to resolve the situation and no matter how hard I tried he would not give me the $7 game that I left. Bad customer service, seems like he picks and chooses his favorites.

I had a similar experience as most of the others who have reviewed Game Traders at this location. The female employee was short tempered and called me "hon" and "honey" in a negative tone EVERY TIME she spoke to me. (I wont even go into that part...but you get it, right?) Every. Single. Question. I asked was met with a dirty look, a short tone and a bad attitude. It made me want to turn around and walk right out of the store. (But I needed my WII controller :) She over-charged me for a used and dirty item - charging me the same price as the same new item I also bought along with it. I questioned it but she said, "Do you want it or not?" (unbelieveable.) There was also a minor there working behind the counter that she told to look up the prices on ebay. I was buying a wii controller and after the young girl looked up the price on ebay and wrote it on the slip, the older lady said "Oh, thats pink - we charge more for that." She had just told me they charge the cheapest price they can find for the same item on ebay. She obviously threw in the "its more money because its pink" BS to get more money out of me. Really, really BAD customer service. You cant hire a person who treats customers like this for your store unless you want to shut your doors soon. Nobody wants to deal with that - and in this kind of business, word of mouth travels quickly. Really, shame on you for not knowing the temperament and level of customer service skills of the person behind your counter that - you have hired - and are responsible for. As a consumer we have to deal with that person unless we want to take our business elsewhere - which is what I plan to do. $47 bucks for two Wii steering wheels and one pink wand. Definitely over charged. Left the store with a really crappy feeling as well due to truly BAD customer service and being called Hon at least 10 times. Where are the owners? You should know whos running your store and how they are running your store.

My first impression of game traders was excellent. As soon as we opened the door we were greeted. I went in looking to add skylanders to my collection knowing they have a large array of them. I found several that I was interested in purchasing. The sales clerk then searched for a price for each one as they look to see what gamestop sales them for because "they beat gamestop everytime" or so the owner says. However that is not the case. I chose the skylanders I wished to purchase and after given the price I thought that seems a little high but given 2 of the 4 I bought were rare I figured it was right because "they beat gamestop everytime." When I got home I went to add them to my gamestop library and thats when I realized, they didnt give me "the better deal" they ripped me off is what they did. They actually charged me more than I would have paid at gamestop. My wife then called the store to question what we believed was a misunderstanding only to find out that it was not. The sales clerk told my wife that they said "they would match gamestop" That is not what I was told so I myself called back I told the clerk who I was and that my wife just spoke to her and that I believe there has been a misunderstanding and that I would like to speak with the owner as thats who I spoke with and thats who helped me. She then rudely told me that he is assisting customers and could not speak to me and she didnt even offer to take my number for him to return my call when he was available. Needless to say we will NEVER go to games Traders again. Please beware when buying anything from them. Youll be bait and switched as I was.

Most of their games had no prices on them, so you had to wait for them to look up almost EVERY price. This takes awhile. One puts trust in a store, right? Well, they take the most expensive price they can find for the game, even if their game has marks on it, and charges you that much. I was told a game was being sold for $70 online, that theyd sell it to me for $50. Gullible, right? Well, when I started looking at the games price online, even under collectibles, it wasnt worth $70. Someone charged $49.99 for a new game. But my game came with no book, box, or slip, and even has a nasty black marks on it. But that was just someone charging for the cartridge with slip for a mint condition game, everyone else only charged $4-$8 in the collectibles section. When I called, they said they go off the price in the collectibles, then proceeded to tell me it was worth $35. I told them they ripped me off, and asked for a refund, or at least to be able to trade for a better game (this time making sure I LOOKED at its value online before buying); and she got mad at me and refused. Whats worse, this wasnt the only game I bought that day at a horribly marked up price. They are very uncooperative, I had no problems from the Game Traders in Port Richey, so why this one? It was the first time I was there, and the last, except maybe to bring a law suit.
