Beware of island pet resort they tell you what you are wanting to hear.and if you complain or make a bad review about them to warn people the owner tries to remove the bad reviews talk to your vet they will tell you about them they have had several dog fights several dogs coming down with kennel cough she claims they have alot staff employees maybe they do but they even get bite and injured. The owner has no education about kennels or how to handle pets and its all about how many she can get in a yard and profit from us.Now here is what happened to my family, they were recommened to us we had looked at of kennels in the area. We toured island I thought the small dog suites was kinda small but it was a short trip so we went with them. When we dropped her off I again warned the employees that our can not be put in a cage she will hurt herself, they laughed and said we dont cage we have suites. The nextday 8am island called you need to come down we cant get your dog out of her cage. When we arrived they took us back and our dog was in a small wire cage she panting and had peed all over. when we got her out i was so upset that they had lyed to our face and they didnt know what to say because they got caught in one of their lies.I have talked to several co workers that have gone there and heard bad stories like a employee taking a dog home with her and the dog fell out of her car dog was severly injured but these are stories nobody wants to hear this is what happened to me and my family. We were very nervous leaving our dog again or trusting anyone with her but we found a great place and they are cage free we even put them to the test we had friends spy on them and seen her through their windows so please talk to vets and alot people before you decide to leave your family member.

I took my dog Lulu there on 6/16 -6/20. I had a long conversation with the owner about the special needs my French Bulldog needed. When she was 4 months old her intestine turning on her due to eating foreign substances , anything she can put into her mouth she would eat! I explained in detail what would happen if the did not watch her and what the outcome would be. They assured me they would take great care and she would be in good hands. I picked her up on the 20th she was very lethargic and they told me she was tired due to all the excitement from her stay. As the evening progressed she seamed to get worse and by the next morning I had her at Courtney Animal Hospital where she had to go through another surgery for here intestines twisting on themselves due to eating foreign substances. That said $1300.00 later I asked if they would help with the bill! These people take no responsibility for their actions! As the owner of a small business there been countless times where Ive had to pay for things that I had to make right. That is the cost of doing business. Unless you want to let your dog be subjected to minimum wage people watching them and not caring about the dog playing on their cell phones and not paying attention to anything that you set forth you will end up in the same problem I was in with a sick dog and nobody to take responsibility for it except you. As far as this place goes I would not recommend them to anyone! You putting your dogs life in their hands shame on you if you do.

TOP-NOTCH all the way! The owners and their staff really care about ALL the pets as if they were their OWN! I used to take my golden here years ago, but after we lost him, we had a one-year lapse until we recently got a new golden puppy. I was back at Ohana today for my puppys first groom - and I wouldnt go ANYplace else! The staff was very friendly and relaxed, and everyone took their time with my young puppy, knowing it was her first time in such a place. Although my pup was apprehensive when she first arrived at a new place (as many young pups are), by the time I returned to get her, she was happy and content; and it was obvious shed had a good experience and had been well treated by people who care. THAT says a lot, in my book! This is a family owned business thats professionally run with a personal touch! Although I was at Ohana for a grooming appointment, I noted that all the doggy daycare pets were separated according to size; and all areas and playgrounds were well supervised and very clean, which I imagine cant be easy to do. Although I dont actually need daycare for my puppy, I still plan to take her here once or twice a week when shes a bit older, just so she can enjoy supervised playtime with other dogs and learn how to socialize in a safe, positive environment. I cant say enough good things about Ohana or Robin, her husband, and their staff!

I wasnt too pleased with the boarding. When you walk by the yard it reeks of strong pee! I wanted to turn around, but the other place i normally go to in titusville was a bit far and it was last min. I cant see how they are able to take good care of your pet when theres soooo many! PROS: I loved her hair cut CONS: The place looked old, the employees didnt look or act professional they were holding babies, on their cell phones, and not as friendly when i came to pick my dog up. My dog doesnt eat a lot and when picking her up she had NO LEFT OVER FOOD and she always does. she didnt have her collar on like most dogs i seen. he said she was so busy having fun they didnt feed her! and i paid $60! i paid $36 at my puppy resort in titusville for the weekend. she smelled bad, and when we got to my home she drank a whole bottle of water which never happens and cleaned her dogie bowl which never happens. I wish i can say i would return but i cant, not even for that haircut! Ill just pay the $2 extra dollars to get her hair cut and its 2min from my house. my baby is only 9 months btw

I am not sure where Tricia Anderson went to, but it was not my experience at Island Pet Resort and Spa. It was the first time that my elderly lab was boarded and was worried about it the entire time. He had a blast there and loved the interaction with the other dogs. The staff was the best!!!!!!! They were helpful at check-in and throughout my dogs stay. They ever sent me pictures on my dog having fun in the play yards. The sleeping areas were very cared for and very clean upon my inspection. I have been to several kennels around the country and this by far was the cleanest and best maintained that I have seen. It is nice that they have a staff that enjoys working with the dogs. I see many pictures of their clients on their Facebook page. If you have any doubts about Island Pet Resort visit it yourself and do not take anyone comments verbatim. There are several kennels in the area and you never know if they are the ones writing negative comments on their competition.
