another reluctant visit this morning, little after 11am - mens bathroom was absolutely disgusting, looked like it hadnt been cleaned in days. maybe late in the day its reasonable for being this gross/unsanitary but after an hour or so after opening ...??? was eating my hot bar take-out in the dining area, watched 2 employees prepare food on the checkout counter. watched for about 15 minutes- they would put gloves on, pick up the box from the floor, open the box, open the contents within the box, then scoop with the same gloves the food that was inside the box and put into containers ready for sale. they switched after making a few containers, with the next person following the same process. I was puzzled as to why they would be preparing food at a checkout counter, let alone the unsanitary process .... so I asked, and they stated they were wearing gloves. I explained that i watched them handle the boxes and put their gloved hands all over the checkout counter and that the gloves were no longer clean/sterile - their reply was that it was only dried cranberries. went back to the dining table, cleared my trash ... walked past, they continued on as if nothing had happened. might want to stay away from the dried cranberries. from my point of view, completely unacceptable standards.

Earth Fare is of the same cloth as Whole Foods, though there are differences. As soon as you walk in, its hard to get around because of the placement of product. Because of this there tends to be a jam at the entrance. The prices are on par with Whole Foods as well, more expensive than a Publix on most things, but they do have some good sales. Their vegan chocolate chip cookies are awesome, soft and chewy on the inside yet they have a crunchy crust around the edges. The sandwich counter looked disgusting so I didnt touch it. Ive found that on Wednesdays they have a $5 meal special. You get a protein and two sides. Most of their proteins are chicken salads or some kind of tofu creation. Like Whole Foods they use mayo in their chicken salads, so the lactose intolerant (such as myself) cant touch them. The staff is friendly and helpful. This particular location carries chocolates from Sweet Petes, a local chocolatier along the lines of Peterbrooks. Sweet Petes dark chocolates are usually vegan and delicious.

First, I am not a complainer nor do I leave bad reviews online. I was very courteous when asking my initial questions. I was shopping with an ill teen and looking in the prepared meal/deli/sushi section and asked the clerk about the preparation of the chicken dish since it had no instruction or indications for heating. The clerk said he wasnt sure. So I asked to speak to a manger. A man came out and identified himself as the store manager and asked what the issue was and I asked him if there were specific heating instructions for the dish. He took the package and read the ingredients label looking for instructions and said, "I didnt know theses didnt have heating instructions" He flippantly said, " I guess you just heat it up to 350 for 20 min" Not wanting to gamble with my sick daughters health I asked if there was anything printed anywhere. He again flippantly responded with, "NO" I did have a few choice with him to which he responded that I could leave the store.

Disgusted, twice now I have gone there, and in the food prep area, where they sell the meatloaf, pizzas etc etc, there has been a blonde girl wearing a nasty white wife beater tank top. Arm pits exposed, just inches away from the food in the display. Never again. tomorrow I am calling the manager and food and health inspector. This is sick, you would demand your money back if you were at any restaurant and the food staff came out looking like this. This can not be within health code standards. My mistake was walking out and not mentioning to the manager. As long as this is accepted by management I question the health standards of everything sold there that is not prepackaged.

Excellent. Their staff is courteous to all customers (saying hello, suggesting items, answering any and all questions, going out of their way to help you find an item in the store, remaining professional while on the floor, and having awesome team work with other employees at the store). Besides the friendly atmosphere, this store has awesome $5 deal days, coupons, a great selection of items of both conventional and organic. AND IT IS CLEAN! I appreciated that they strive to keep a tip top store. My husband and I ventured in one day just to "check it out." This is now our home grocery store. Seriously, to anyone curious, go check it out. - two very happy customers.

First time going. It was a cool experience. Ill be back. Picked up some teas, essential oils, and fresh meats and veggies and other sundries. It wasnt AS expensive as I would have guessed. But of course there are some overly expensive things in there. The employees were great!!! Way better than at Publix. They were knowledgeable and very friendly. Willing to give advice and guidance. You wont find that everywhere. Not even at my old favorite, The Fresh Market. Last thing. Their deli is NOT as varied and tasty looking as The Fresh Market. But it does look good. I say look, because I did not try anything this visit.

Beware the winter wheat! Ive been buying my whole grains (macrobiotic) from earth fare at Kernan & Atlantic since they opened a while ago. This last batch of red winter wheat had a colony of little guys living in it! I took a picture of the little buggers, but I guess you cant attach one here as part of a review. And no they were not introduced after the fact as I religiously transfer my grains into sealed airtight storage within minutes of arriving at home. Looks like Ill go back to making the longer drive to Native Sun...

Earth Fare is THE worst! Staff are unfriendly and offer little assistance. Prices are way higher than Whole Foods, Native Sun and their deli case is ALWAYS out of popular items such has Vegan Mock Chicken Salad. They manage to carry plenty of non-vegan chicken salads (3 kinds) but vegan Mock they are ALWAYS out. Its the same at their Ohio stores as well. For something thats obviously very popular you would think they would have plenty in house. Its supposedly made at the stores so theres no excuse! Im done with Earth Fare!

Pretty much perfect. A good selection of organic foods and organic beauty products. I like that it is big enough to carry pretty much everything I need but not so big that I hate going there. Easy parking, really friendly knowledgeable service people and a good organic juice bar too. I would love to find one store in Jacksonville that is completely vegetarian like Erewhon in L.A., but this is the next best thing. The produce stays fresh here and you dont find that in a lot of small markets.

Probably the grocery store Ive been to. I found everything I need for my kitchen. Staff is ultra super kind friendly and the food is quality. I come here every week and people that do go to earth fare look good and healthy! Let me point out that I read two of the bad reviews and they were simply written out of necessity. It feels like they sure did have better things to write about the atore than be rude online. Millenials...
