I love Publix, generally but have a small problem with their "boxed" goods like potato or macaroni salad and others made apparently by the same outsource company. I do hope that you will consider the contents of this letter as constructive. I do a great deal of shopping at the various Publix markets near my residence and have almost always been very pleased with the cleanliness of your facilities and the quality of your products. But there is one major exception. I am aware that your company outsources the prepared salads, such as potato, macaroni, and egg salads, and others, housed in clear plastic and generally displayed near your deli area. However, whoever is preparing this product for Publix is doing your stores a great disservice. They are ungodly awful, nearly inedible, consisting primarily of Mayonnaise and little else. They are also tasteless. After my initial experience with your potato salad, and then the macaroni salad, I no longer purchase any of those easily identifiable products. I am aware that it may be necessary for you to outsource because of the sheer volume required, but there must be a way to have the producer make something that is at least edible. I would strongly suggest that you seek another source for these salads, or compel the producer to make a better product, as I am sure there must be a great deal of waste in what they are providing. I threw my salads in the trash after one taste. When I want potato or macaroni, or egg salad, it is inconvenient for me to have to go to a different store to get that item. Can’t you please correct this awful situation so that I can continue to shop at Publix knowing that you care about your customers’ satisfaction?

PUBLIX DELI review - I was disappointed with the service personnel at this location today. In a situation where it was not busy, the staff did a poor job of greeting/serving customers. I was in the sub line and there was 1 customer ahead of me. At first there were no customers in line at the deli station or the hot bar and there were 3-4 deli workers behind the counter just talking to one another. 5 minutes went by - nothing: no greeting, no service. Finally a staff member came to serve the lady in front of me - without greeting me, she offered a minimal amount of SLOW service to the lady in line in front of me, meanwhile the other workers continued to chat amongst themselves. As other customers came to the deli and hot bar, they had to wait for service. Finally I got tired of waiting after not being served or greeted for over 10 minutes and grabbed something from the premade area. It was both frustrating and disappointing. HOWEVER I will point out that while in the other areas of the store (dairy, fruits, and cashier) everybody was friendly and helpful. Hopefully the deli can be coached on how to properly greet and service customers in the future. Thanks

I tried your home delivery service as I am nursing a major foot strain and am on crutches. I cannot express clearly enough how disappointed I was in the delivery of my groceries today. In all previous deliveries my food was stored in a cooler and arrived cold. I have tossed out five of the items as they were warm dairy when they arrived. Yogurt. The frozen dinner outer boxes were warm to the touch but I could feel the meal was still frozen. My guess is they will all suffer from frost. The fruit was warm. They dairy whipped topping was warm. The driver so smelled like cigarettes that my place still stinks like cigarettes. I like the store for shopping, but after this experience I will probably drive the extra two miles to Winn Dixie.

We north Florida residents, were on vacation on Sanibel Island last week. After shopping at the local island market (Jerrys) we had "withdrawal" for our Publix at "Marsh Landing" at Jax Beach"! Oh, my goodness.... the prices and quality of their items were not up to our Publix! After our trip to Fort Myers with our granddaughter, we were delighted to find "our" Publix before getting back onto Sanibel Island toll bridge! We discovered Sanibel Beach Places PUBLIX! I was kicked out and police called on me because I asked where the milk was, the young manager responded saying the everyone knows where the milk is in a grocery store, he smelt beer on my breath, I was not drunk though, two beers, and he called the police on me. I did not cause I disturbance, just seemed to be a young manager that was too excited to abuse his power of authority if you can call being an assistant manager at a grocery store a position of authority.

I have been going to this Publix for a year now. I will say some of the stuff there are very nice and pleasant. Some of the other will just walk by and ignoring you. I order some stuff from the deli online and they completely messed up my order and the sandwich was the smallest Ruben I have ever seen come out of a Publix Deli.

Nicest (most patient) staff anywhere and a GREAT bakery. Selection caters to international tourists and Sanibel crowd. Prices are on the high side, reflecting a demographic that would rather buy there than on the island. Lots of beach/shelling/fishing stuff, if thats where youre headed.

Waited 10 minutes before someone came to the sandwich deli counter. No acknowledgement. The bakery staff was attentive and courteous. Cashier and baggers were exceptional.
