I had a truly wonderful experience at Honda of Fort Myers. I dont normally take the time to write reviews about my experiences--let alone one this long--the entire team at Honda definitely deserves the recognition and praise. The salesperson who assisted me - Burlin Gibson - was polite, friendly, professional, helpful, and knowledgable. When I walked into the Honda dealership I only intended to test drive a few cars. I was planning on visiting several other dealerships before making a buying decision, but after driving the Civic and dealing with Burlin I ended up signing that day. Car buying can be a tiring and stressful process, especially when it comes to negotiating a deal as a first time car buyer. Car salesmen tend to have a reputation for being misleading, but this was not the case at all with Burlin. I felt like I had someone on my side with my best interests in mind the entire time. At some point during the negotiation process one of the managers - Joe Lowe - came over to speak with us. He also contributed to the positive experience. He was professional and friendly, and he helped make the process even smoother. When I came back the following day to finalize the paperwork, I had another great experience with the Finance Manager - Iggy Molina. Since this was my first time buying a car, I had never experienced the paperwork process before. But Iggy took the time to explain each document to me in a way that was informative and easy to understand. He answered all my questions honestly and made me feel confident in the deal I was getting. The best part of my experience (and the reason Ill recommend buying a car at Honda of Fort Myers to everyone I know) was the way Burlin treated me before, during, and even after the sale. After all the paperwork was signed and the car was officially mine, he took the time to show me all the features of my new car and made sure I knew how to use them. Despite the fact that the sale was already finalized and there was nothing more to gain, he demonstrated a genuine interest in making sure I got the full value from my purchase. In the end, Im extremely happy with the price I paid, the financing I received, and the people I dealt with--not to mention my amazing new Honda! I have nothing but positive things to say and I cant tell you enough how much I appreciate it.

Finances - Be careful. They will add on $3,200 in warranties and tell you it only "adds $6 to your monthly payment" because they have you sign on an estimate of what the monthly payment will be if you have terrible credit or no credit. Since my credit was good, my payment would have been way lower than that estimate, so them adding on $3200 put it closer to that estimate. Its all really confusing and thats what they rely on I think. Paul was a super nice guy but I was completely misled and didnt pay close enough attention until I got home and saw how much these warranties (gap insurance, phantom footprints, easycare service warranty, keycare, and permaplate) were actually costing me. When I cancel these warranties, my monthly payment will actually go down by $70. When I called to cancel them, I received a LOT of resistance, but they did finally agree to cancel them. If I am going to spend $3200 on ANYTHING, I would like to do a lot more research than just looking at a brochure and taking a salesmans word for it. Just be careful and review the paperwork more thoroughly than I did even if they try to rush you or blow smoke and mirrors. Ultimately, its my mistake for agreeing to it in the first place without asking more questions, but I think a lot of people make the same mistake. Dont think you cant cancel either! Most of the warranties have cancellation periods of 30-90 days. Sales - JB was kind and knowledgeable, and gave realistic advice that wasnt to his advantage when I considered buying a car that was more expensive than the one I went with. Thats a good sign. The guy who actually did the sale when I came back the next day was Jim I believe and he was a nice guy too. Sales manager with the Steelers jersey was very nice and helpful too. Gave me more for my trade when I wasnt satisfied with the original appraisal. Dr. Phil helped me a couple years ago when I was there and I really thought he was a down to Earth nice guy. At the end of the day, its a dealership. In general, dealerships are not known for honesty and respect and straightforwardness. This dealership is probably one of the better ones if put among the rest. Im happy with my car, happy with my trade in value, Im canceling the warranties, and I will go home happy! So Im satisfied and would go back if I had to.

TL;DR 4 stars for car sales customer service, - 1 stars for financial services and payment options, averages to 1.5 which rounds up to 2 stars. Just purchased a car here, salesperson was a nice man and willing to negotiate on the price of the car but employed typical car salesman negotiation tactics that can sometimes convince people to pay more than they should. Customer service was average, polite small talk but nothing particularly stands out. However, I was very annoyed by their financial services department. This is entirely a first world problem, and perhaps trivial to others but this was a major inconvenience for me. They would not allow me to pay for more than $5,000 with a credit card. I have purchased 2 cars within the past year (a Honda and an Acura, both from their respective dealerships) and never had a problem paying for the entire car with a credit card. In this day and age most merchants accept credit cards, although there is an additional fee the merchant has to pay to the credit card company. I understand this is an added fee for the merchant, but business is business and if another Honda dealership will give me the same car for the same price with similar customer service AND let me pay for the car with a credit card, I would rather shop with them because it is more convenient for me. My business is worth the 3-5% fee to them, so Id rather patronize their dealership. Many people do not deal with cash/checks anymore, and with all the perks and fraud safety benefits of using credit cards our society is already moving towards a non-cash culture. Even the banks that issue credit cards realize this, and they continue to offer better perks and benefits with their credit card products to win over customers. People may complain about millennials killing industries, but this is the generation that is buying things and successful businesses are the ones that can understand trends and adapt to the economy. Its difficult to run a business, and the ones that do not adapt (ex. Blockbuster) just cant survive. Perhaps this is not a problem for Honda of Ft Myers yet, but I guess their policy is the saying, "If it aint broke, dont fix it."

My name is Mandy Concepcion, author of many automotive technology books, DVDs, trainer, and designer/developer of auto-diagnostics equipment. Thats who I am so you can check my credential and see this comment is legitimate. I can be found all across the web, Amazon, etc. As it happened, I was down in Florida for a few weeks (winter time) and decided to go to Google Honda of Fort Myers. Julian Nickifor came up on many comments and I asked for him personally. Here is experience with Honda of Fort Myers, as it applies to my dealings with JULIAN NICHIFOR the sales representative that I dealt with. After also trying Germain Honda in Naples, the experience was so awful and disconcerting that it led me to Google Honda of Fort Myers. Mr Nichifor is an affable person and easy to deal with. He will try to make his money, but not at the cost of loosing a customer. He truly tries to match "YOUR SITUATION to the CAR YOU NEED". So, we negotiated a trade in value, Super Bowl 50 was on that day, and we resumed negotiations the next day. I researched the value of my car on KBB. I also expected that the dealer had to make a profit on my trade-in. I was clear as to what I needed, like desired trade-in value, monthly payments, interest, etc. He was cleared, explained all the particulars, as was willing to do what was needed to get me in a car, without "Hustling Me or Being Disrespectful" like my experience at Germain Honda in Naples. Julian is straightforward, descent and of course is there to make his money like everyone else. I recommend Julian Nichifor more than anything. Honda of Fort Myers was also descent in respect that the finance representative was also polite and did not try to alter the original deal with Julian in any way. Hopefully youll also have a good experience like I did. It also helps to research your trade-in on KBB, as well as have an idea of your credit rating. They use BEACON, which is like FICO but used by Equifax. Also research your car pricing as best you can and "BROWSE AROUND A LOT FIRST". Often they have deals that just show up in the dealers parking lot. So document yourself and negotiate a good deal. Good luck.
