Godiva Lady
Do NOT take children!! Ive been here before for myself so called to see if they saw children, as my 7 yr old was having blurry vision from far away and was leaving to go back to Mexico the next day. Felt it was important to get her an eye exam before we left the country. They said they did see children so I scheduled appointment for 11:40am. I arrived early and waited until about 12:05pm to be seen. They proceeded to take us to a dark room where several eye machines were located. I asked the lady (who had been sitting at the receptionist desk and was now going to do the tests) if she was the doctor and she said "no". My daughter was nervous about doing the tests and the lady had no patience with her and didnt do a good job of explaining what she had to do. My daughter refused to do the test on the machine that blows air into your eyes and I asked the lady if the eye doctor could just use the results from the other tests she did and just give her an eye exam. The lady said, "no, without all the machine tests the doctor could not see her". Only about 14 minutes had passed while in the room and the doctor opens the door now, saying there was another patient waiting, as if we were taking too long. The other lady then says that the machines were for adults and they werent equipped to deal with children and escorts us out of the room and recommended I go see a pediatric optometrist and writes down his name and number. I now again ask the dr (Dr Jimenez) if my daughter could just be given an eye exam and explain we are leaving the country in the morning and she said "no, not without all the machine tests". We start to walk away but my daughter says she will go ahead and do the test on that machine. I come back into the store and tell them she will go ahead and do the test, its 12:20pm at this point and they say they dont have the time now. I said we literally walked out the door and came back in and I had an appointment. They both said they were booked until the late afternoon. There was nobody waiting, no patients sitting in chairs, so I said that there was nobody there. They said there was someone in the dark room now and then at 1pm Dr Jimenez had to have lunch. I pleaded for them to make an exception for a child, to finish seeing my daughter, especially since we were leaving out of the country the next day. They flat out refused. My daughter started crying and they then started to tell her that they really couldnt see her now because of her tears and crying. I want to say that I have never encountered such heartless and selfish staff as Dr.Jimenez and the lady at this LensCrafters. They cared more about their lunch and pushing people out the door then helping a child. Horrible!!!

I would only recommend going here if you would like to be scammed out of your money. We ordered two pairs of glasses with the best lenses and coatings they have for my wife and the lady that helped us was very professional, took all the measurements but then I saw in the screen there was this $30+ charge for "protection plan". I said we were not interested. She said she would remove it then took my wifes credit card, walked over to the counter and charged it for the whole amount anyway, including the said plan. I only noticed it after checking the receipt so I demanded they refunded us. She claimed "the system added it automatically and she could not remove it". After a whole song-and-dance, a couple of different reps, getting the refund took 1h45 minutes and had to involve the manager and calling the credit card company. What bothered me the most was that through the whole thing, not for a moment I felt they were sorry for the inconvenience. They were looking at us like we were inconveniencing *them*. Well that was a year ago. A completely avoidable issue, an unnecessary ordeal but I thought, perhaps it was an honest mistake. That until yesterday I was there waiting to see the optometrist, which is independent but also an adept to scamming people out of their money as I found out (material for a separate review), perhaps they are owned by the same person. Then and there I saw the very same lady that helped us, doing the very same routine with another unsuspecting customer. It never ceases to amaze me how low can people go to make a buck. It bothers me because you can tell these are mostly simple, hard-working people who in the stress of their daily lives might not go through the added effort of reading the receipts or checking the computer screen. Who knows, they may not even know enough English to read it as the system is conveniently in English-only while the majority of the customers is Spanish-speaking. Preying on your own people, shame on you! So my suggestion, avoid if you can but I can see that may prove difficult since there arent many options in Doral. But even if you drive 15 miles to get there, you might just save enough of your hard earned money to make it worth it.

Booked an appt. for Monday at 5:30pm. This was my first time, so I arrived on time TO THE WRONG MACYS! (They are located in the Womens part) I ran to the other side of the Mall to make it to my appt. at 5:33pm. TRIED CALLING, BUT THEY DONT HAVE A DIRECT LINE. IT WAS ALL AUTOMATED. Once I arrive, Im greeted by an elder man who asks my name and insurer. I give it and explain why I was a little late. He assures me that its fine. The doctor is in the back the whole time. The guy walks to the back to let the doctor know she has two arrivals for the 5:30 appointments (I dont know what she said) but he came back out to tell us they couldnt help us. He says the "insurance system is down. We cant process or verify any insurance today. We tried calling you a couple hours ago." My response "Yea, I was at work." At the end of the day, THEY LIED and just didnt want to help us. If the system was down, you wouldve or SHOULD have left a message stating that. I WILL NEVER COME BACK HERE.

Unsatisfied with the service provided by staff and the doctor. When I asked general questions about things that I didnt understand they answered with attitude, but when I went to pay they were all nice and sweet. I noticed the staff gossiping about another client (rude). My prescription was off, and it was pretty much a waste of money and time. I complained about not being able to see clearly with the contact lenses they had just given me and all that doctor said was "I just checked it and it was 20/20". Well obviously it wasnt. The eye exam was not thorough, not even my pupil was dilated. I was expecting the optometrist to do so because thats the only way to check for a condition I have that I am aware of thanks to another doctor I go to that took the time to examine my eyes completely. Overall, I DO NOT RECOMMEND this place. (Dr. Maria Salas was the optometrist)

PLEASE RUN FROM HERE. They billed me instead of my insurance, and then gave me a million excuses. I was even told it would take the weekend to fix because my insurance call line was closed. I called at that very moment infront of the woman stating she couldnt fix it for 3 days. She suddenly could indeed fix it..She supposively issued a void and here I am, a week later, out 100 dollars and having to diapute the transaction with my bank because she tossed all the receipts and crossed her fingers that Id forget about my money. They werent even apologetic when I tried repeatedly to get refunded. They refuse to refund me. Even after they charged my insurance. This is ridiculous. The Dr was average and service time was adequate as far as glasses but the billing/receptionists are inept.
